The room was clean and, for the most part, comfortable. I have slept on better mattresses in hotels that cost less than half of what we paid here. The staff was friendly. Location was within an easy walk of the White House/National Mall area (7 blocks), restaurants and a Whole Foods Market (2 blocks).

Hotel was clean and staff were extremely courteous.

Our stay started with our room being changed from a non smoking room to a smoking room. I argued with the hotel manager 5 minutes before he "found" a non smoking room (only after I threaded to leave to hotel and find a new one. Everything else was fine, not great but fine. Good place to stay. Kind of tight as far as room size goes and the bathroom was small. But the neighborhood was fantastic. Close to the white house. I would stay here again.

They charge $27 a day to park your car.

.Hotel manager was very helpful after I was told there is no more space in the parking garage. Parking is an additional expensive and you pay per night, however you can leave your car there whole next day. Everybody in the hotel and restaurant were pleasant and helpful. I can recommend this hotel.

My sister, my kids and I spent 1 night at the Holiday Inn Washington and our stay was very comfortable and relaxing. We had breakfast in the am. Eventhough there was no vegetable egg white omlette on the buffet table, when asked, I was provided free of cost with a delicious plate of the meal. My kids had complementry servings of icecreams. Mainly, I was very disapointed that the hotel did not have any parking available on New Year's Eve and there was NO ADVANCE NOTICE of this. The major reason for booking a hotel is so there would be no driving after the evening's celebration. My guests and I spent 45 mins driving around DC looking for street parking and cursing the Holiday Inn brand. […] The office garage they told us about was closed, and that was a piece of information they left out. Later that evening the hotel had 1/3 working elevators and that one had been "thrown up in." so we had to wait in the lobby for them to clean the elevator. In the morning, we received a breakfast voucher, but were told "it did not include the entire buffet. You can only select items from one side" and we were policed by the staff to make sure we didn't take any of the "good" food. All that quality for a very high price for that night. I'll never stay there again. If this gets to Holiday Inn, please share with them that they would make a ton of money if they would pair with a local garage to have parking available on holiday evenings-particularly New Year's Eve. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Also if you are offering a breakfast voucher please make it all-or-nothing. I don't appreciate it being treated like charity. Uzziniet vairāk

Hotel is in a good area. Hotel and is in decent shape. Room was clean and comfortable. Only major downside is they advertise they have parking available yet when we showed up they had no spaces left. Turns out they can only park about 60% of hotel capacity. Had to drive around DC for 30 mins looking for a space to park on the street, which was far from […] the hotel. I loved everything about the room and the hotel except for the charge for parking in their garage. Apparently all the hotels in the Washington DC area charge for parking however. Hotel is in a great area in the heart of everything.

Had a great stay at the hotel. Perfect for at weekend in Washington.

Staying at the Holiday Inn was a great value for me. It was a 10 minute walk to Dupont Circle and the metro red line - a safe walk day or night. The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant was quite good. I was there for work, but was able to take a reasonably priced evening tour which staff coordinated for me. The front desk staff […] served as a helpful concierge service, showing me how to get around town on the metro and securing a taxi when needed. Holiday Inn was well located close to Dupont Circle (10 min walk) and even closer (2 mins) to P Street supermarket and restaurants, shops etc. The Whitehouse is 1 km away and Union Station a $12 cab fare. All in all, we were very happy with the hotel for the price and the location for local restaurants etc. If you like walking, then all the museums […] and main sights are within 3 to 4km from this hotel. About what is to be expected for a chain hotel in the area. Expensive, but so are all the rest of the hotels in that part of town. Would be nice if there was a Metro stop a little closer.

My friend and I stayed here and had a pleasant time. The nice and helpful employees made up for the bare-bones facilities. Front desk workers let us check out late, no problem. The customer service manager helped us locate local attractions. Only thing bad would be the guest laundry room - don't try to dry your clothes unless you want to wait 4 hours! […] On my last day I was trying to wash and dry some clothes before checking out, and the old machines just weren't working. Finally, the front desk allowed me to throw my soggy laundry into Housekeeping's turbo-powered dryer in the basement. They dried in 5 minutes. Uzziniet vairāk

I had a horrible experience at this hotel. They put me in a smoking room, despite my request to hotels.com to have a non-smoking room - and said there was nothing they could do about it. The hotel was noisy, staff were rude, and I would not recommend this to anyone.

I enjoyed my experience there...The staff could not have been more hospitable. My only issue was that the room was a little smoky (Smoking room). After about an hour, it was fin.

The location was fine for us- 6 blocks from the white house where we had a tour. The people at the front desk were very helpful and pleasant.

Nice hotel/reasonable prices. About a 10-14 minute walk to McPherson Square metro stop. Other than wishing it were closer to the metro, there isn't much to complain about. We didn't eat at the hotel's restaurant, as there are many good restaurant choices in the immediate vicinity.

This hotel is well-kept, the staff was very friendly and accommodating and the free wifi in the hotel room had blazing speed, even after all of the treacherous thunder storms. From DCA the taxi fare was only $17 (make sure you have cash!). The Metro stop at McPherson was a really nice 10 minute walk from the hotel (perhaps not the most convenient option […] if you're not a big walker... not a problem at all for me though). If you're a coffee connoisseur, I highly recommend Caribou Coffee, just a few short blocks from the hotel. We liked the accommodation. Staff was helpful in getting lower rate when we extended our stay. Neighborhood is safe even at night. Quite a walk to White House,Capitol Hill, etc. But still accessible. Breakfast was reasonable and kids ate for free. WiFi was slow and hard to access. But overall a great place to stay.

Conveniently located in DC, close to subway and various attractions, also close to stores, etc makes it very practical for family vacations. Hotel is clean, rooms are confortable and well equipped.

Nice hotel. Pretty good location (still have to walk some but not bad). Clean. The only bad thing is that it is a bit small.

We stayed for a 4 nights and the Staff was extremely helpful with everything. We had breakfast and it was nice , not to order , the buffet. And Dinner one night and it was very nice. The only down side for theis hotel is that it's parking garage. The spaces are very small. If you bring a car don't bring a full size one or a truck. Staff was wonderful. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars is that the description led me to believe there was a refrigerator and microwave in every room. There is not. That was very disappointing as that was how we had planned part of our 4 day stay. We did not have a chance to use the pool on the roof due to packed days of sight seeing, but it did […] look very nice. The restaurant in the hotel was reasonable and good. They even had a kids under 12 eat free deal. The staff at the restarunt was very friendly and made the meal enjoyable. We only ate there once but I do recomend it. Uzziniet vairāk

Good hotel and location, but had much trouble booking it. Still trying to get refund for one room canceled; and the property charged my Visa credit card meant for incidentals (none incurred) for one night stay, meaning double-charged, as my sister had pre-paid on booking with hotels.com. Also, booking was for two adults one mother and one adult son, […] so we requested double beds. Sadly, we were given a king-size bed due to "availability." Ended up getting a roll-away bed for two nights which made for a very crowded room. If only they had listened to our requests upon booking! Anyway, I need the double-charge credited back asap. Hotel is clean and is comfortable. All helpful staff except on one incident with one of the lobby staffer. We (2 +2 kids) arrived after 6pm on Saturday after a long trip and decided to call takeout food from a outside restaurant. When the restaurant called us back to meet the delivery guy at the lobby he wasn't there. So I politely asked the staffer […] at the lobby is there a special place to meet outside delivery. My stay at the Holiday Inn Washington Central was ... okay. I was by myself, traveling on business/pleasure mix. The bed and pillows were comfortable (VERY important), the room was clean, and the staff was friendly. However, I had three complaints. One, the hotel guide says that the pool closes at 9:00 PM. I wanted to take a quick dip in the pool at […] 8:30, and discovered that, in fact, the pool closes at (immediate) sundown. If that's the case, put it in the guide - it's a rooftop pool with a nice view, I'd like to be able to enjoy it. Two, the elevators are terribly slow, and only one goes to and from the pool on the roof. You could miss your birthday waiting for those elevators! And finally, during one night the toilet gurgled loudly every 15 minutes or so, but only for a night. No, I didn't say anything to the front desk. Yes, I know, I should have. In the end, it was fine, but when I'm paying a decent amount of money to stay there, my expectations will not be low. The takeaway? If I were to rate this hotel 1 to 10, where 10 is a megabrand hotel resort complex in Maui and 1 is what I imagine a crack den to be, I would give the Holiday Inn Washington Central a 7.5. Good hotel for a good price. Close proximity to all the monuments and attractions esp. the white house. Very helpful staff.

Stayed here in June 2011. This was a nice hotel - room was big and comfortable with a sofa as well as a desk and office chair, big flatscreen TV, recently remodeled bathroom, free wi-fi. Breakfast was not included in our reservation, but the continental breakfast was high quality and very reasonably priced.

Good spot, very safe neighborhood. Plan on using buses more than the metro to get around. There's a CVS and a Whole Foods along with some other bars and restaurants within 2 blocks as well.
