There was food and what looked like snot on the walls. Towels smelled like body odor. Front desk service was rude. I only stayed here bc I had a marathon and all other hotels were booked. This hotel was far worse then a hotel six. It's only worth stayin in if u get it for 50 dollars or less.

The Vagabond was simple, yet clean. We wanted to take the boat to Anacapa and that was easy from the motel. The staff were all wonderfully helpful with accurate directions, as well as area information.

Front desk clerks and housekeeping staff was really great! I had to check-out early, and they were very helpful in getting a refund for the remaining days. Having a Denny's attached was great! But, the dis-repair of the property made me really uncomfortable! Peeling stucco, black (used to be green) carpet in my room was Gross! This is a great place […] for out-of-town construction crews! This is fine for the restricted budget traveller or a quick night's stay en route up the 101. Location is marginal, rooms are clean but the carpeting and bedspreads are definitely pushing it, and the complimentary breakfast is the worst I have ever seen (gross fruit, terrible coffee, pre-packaged trans fat loaded pastries). We were very disappointed that we were put in a smoking room upon our arrival. Hotels.com never specified that this hotel had smoking rooms, let alone that we'd be put in one. The hotel was sold out both nights and claimed they did everything possible to switch us to a non-smoking room. My family and I were in town for one night to attend the Cowboys Training Camp. The hotel was offering a decent rate and it was very close to the training camp. The room was clean, in a quiet neighborhood and comfortable. I would definately stay here again for our future Oxnard visits.

1) All Oxnard hotels were supposed to provide free parking passes to the training camp... They were great about late check in and check out. However, I had chosen the hotel because they allowed smoking and paid for a smoking room. About half an hour after betting into the room I noticed it was non smoking. The room was very filthy... There was mud splattered on the floor and walls. The bathroom was very disappointing. No where to put towels or a change of clothes. there was no counter or anywhere to place you travel bag, not even your toothbrush or comb. It was very disappointing.

It provides everything we need. Price is considered reasonable and location is very convenient. Everything is fine except the window in the bathroom is a kind of dusty and the air condition is a kind of noisy.

I love love love this motel. Pet friendly, micrwave, fridge, iron and hair dryer. My favorite is Diane, the nicest woman ever. Always clean, always friendly, the best TV channels of even the high end hotels.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed here with our 2 large dogs during the Ventura Dog Show. They have a nice lawn area the dogs can use and the hotel makes it easy to clean up after your pet. The free internet and continental breakfast are an added bonus.

Stay was quiet, room needed new carpet but was clean and didn't smell bad. Bed was ok, TV small. Great area for pets so if you need to bring one this is your hotel.

Not to easy to get to... have to drive around assorted blocks to get to frontage road. Upon arrival the desk clerk was checking-in what appeared to be a "working girl" and her companion. She left, I assumed I would be next when a young intoxicated couple drove-up, came into the office and he helped them instead of me! Anyhow, I finally got the key to […] my non-smoking room, found a parking space, saw the balcony activities and wondered if my car would be safe. Keep in mind that it's about 11:30pm so I don't have any options... Walked into the nonsmoking room and it reeks of smoke and some sweet deodorizer mix...GROSS!!! I called the front desk I was advised I could come down and get some deodorizer! I was on the second floor so, I opened windows (that no one could climb in) to get some fresh air. The carpet is stained and dirty, the bed was HARD! On a positive note, the bathroom was clean, the refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave were all clean and new, free wi-fi and apples in the morning. Great stop driving San fran to la. not far from la, we were at Venice beach early the next morning, and a great rate compared to other options in the area. Denny's is always a good cheap spot for meals as well, at the hotel site. Would stay again if driving the same route.

We were travelling with a small dog, and this hotel was listed ad "dog friendly", which it was. However, it was the room itself that was very disappointing. Although billed as a non-smoking room, the bedspread had multiple cigarette burns on it. The carpet throughout was old and very stained and the entry door missing weatherstrip provided a 3/4" gap […] at the door bottom. We did a "McGuyver" and got some duct tape from housekeeping to seal the bottom of the door. The room was cold, with no provision for heat, just A/C. We inquired at the front desk about getting two plastic spoons, and were promptly sent next door to the Denny's. And we didn't even bother with the extremely limited continental breakfast. Actually turned out to be a great stay. Located in the vicinty of stores,restraunts and center of town. Room ammenties were comparable to more expensive hotels. Microwave and refrigerator were a welcomed addition. Free Wi-Fi worked great. A great deal for the cost.

Excellent place to stay in the area. Has everything you need in the room. Dogs have a nice place to be walked complete with poop bags. A Denny's next door.

I had booked several rooms for our construction crew that was doing work in the surrounding area. The location was perfect for us, unfortunately the state of the rooms were so bad that we have to leave the hotel and stay elsewhere.

I will be the first to say.... I appreciate the warm welcomes from Jamie and Wendy. They were friendly and helpful when asked questions about the town.
