We chose this hotel for its location. Whilst it was very reasonably priced the bed was comfortable but the room was tired and the air conditioning was poor. The breakfast was ok for the 4 days we were there but by the 4th day we were tired of the little choice. Nice hotel near the Vatican. Everything during our visit went smoothly, and staff was professional. We used the free pick up at airport, worked fine. Drop off was 40€/2 pers - affordable. This was a very nice hotel. We stayed in a family room that was meant for 4 people. My only complaint with the place is that it was not truly handicapped accessible as it had advertised. You need to go up at least one flight of stairs before reaching an elevator.

I don't understand why this hotel received such a high rating. My room was very dark, dingy and horribly decorated. I was booked in for eight nights but only stayed one. Yeah, I know, I lost all that money but I just couldn't stay there. Perhaps a two star would be more appropriate.

Hotel had 3 vans for transportation yet only one driver which presented challenges to get to the airport. Buffet needs some oversight to make sure it is replenished and dishware available. No one seemed to be in charge.

I have stayed for 6 days in February 2012. Excellent location, great price and friendly staff. Choice of restaurants nearby. Recommended. Vid V.

could have been better for the money paid

We stayed here the first few nights in Rome and had a wonderful stay, We loved the neighborhood, 10 minute walk to St Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and great shopping. It was a nice area to walk around at night, and great cafe right down the street on the corner. Many other nice cafes also. Definitely walk over the bridge with the angels by […] St Angelo's Castle and explore the cafes and neighborhood right over the bridge. Rome subway was about 15 minute walk, convenient for us. Hotel provided us a choice with airport pick up or breakfast, and we chose pick up because it was our first time in Rome and did not know our surroundings, Pick up was on time, and convenient, but driver was not very welcoming. Hotel allowed us to check in early, which really helped with the 9 hour overnight flight and 6 hour time difference so we were able to rest. Room was very nice and clean, except seemed to be a bit dusty, likely due to wall paper and curtains, which were a bit dated. Loved the windows and wooden shutters that opened. Glad I chose the Atlante Star for our 6 night stay in Rome. Ten minute walk to Vatican - walk up Borgo Pio is pleasant. Very clean room and bed was very comfortable. Staff helpful, pleasant. Great breakfast served in gorgeous dining room with fantastic view. Always got my morning capuccino upon request. Waited an hour at airport for comp pick up and […] ride was a bit scary as I was warned about Rome cabs in general but it was free. Overall the hotel was satisifactory. Hower, the service was excellent. The breakfast (included with the Room) was oKas a standard in Rome. The Superior Double room was small with twin beds moved together .Not enough of closet space. The jacuzzi did not work. The roof garden was under repairs/updating. The main formal restraunt, Les Etoiles, was expenive, […] but the food was good. It had a great view of the dome of St Peter's Basilica and the surrounding area. The hotel was within 3 blocks of the Vatican. Local restraunts were within 1 block of the hotel. The hotel is in a great location for visiting the Vatican, you can even see St Peter's from the restaurant. Rome isn't that big of a city and so it's not in a bad location for everywhere else. The longest walk took about 45 minutes to St John Lateran which is at the opposite side of Rome As with most European hotels, the rooms are small compared to […] American ones but they have all of the essentials. The beds were comfortable. The closet in my room was a little small but my sister's room had a larger closet. The TV system had a good selection of English language programs. WiFi was available. The bathroom was a good size with a full size jetted tub. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The only negative is that the hotel is a little dated. I really enjoyed this hotel. We got the basic room, which is fine if you are site-seeing all day. It is very close to food and shopping and the Vatican. You will have to take a taxi, or public transportation, to the center of town for everything else. It is very good for English speaking Guests. No view of St. Peter's - 7 min walk. Roof garden in repair. Breakfast 20 Euro's - not worth it. Old Hotel - leave large key at desk. Narrow halls, strange enamel doors, small rooms. We nicknamed -Pinnochioland.

Having never been to Europe before, I was surprised by the size (or lack of size) of the room. There were two single beds. two nigh tables a small desk with a small T.V., a small cupboard and washroom. There was no furniture so we could never unpack. The one elevator is small. We paid extra for a continental breakfast every day which was excellent value. […] We were going on a cruise, so after 3 nights in the hotel, our cabin felt spacious. Room was barely sizable for two persons. Quite small. For a small increase I could have had a deluxe room which is quite larger. Book early. Location was perfect for the vatican and a great castle that was a block away. About 20 minute walk to spanish steps and pantheon. It was a nice hotel. Good location near the buses. The best cafe I found in the city was right outside my Door. Walk out the front door and make a left. Walk to the corner. About a block and a half on the left side across from the supermarket. Got a coffee a sandwich and some pastries every morning before going into the city. Loved it!! Finding your […] way around the streets was tough at first bits and old city and every blockbus a different name. But it gets easier after a day or two. Be careful with cabs. They get expensive fast and the buses dont run that late. Public transit is not that efficient. Our last night before we left we spent in fiumicino at la torre del Moro. A good deal. Good price. Not a pampered place but verry customer friendly and a perfect stop if you want to save a few bucks on a room. The amicimiei da Dino e Anna restaurant near by. A right outside the hotel and on the left is a wonderful family friendly restaurant with great food. One of the nicest meals I had the two weeks I was in Italy. Also the area is great for a nice walk and a few wine bars. Also there are a lot of great looking seafood restaurants but they are a little pricy. Reception staff were very helpful and polite. Our family room for four was extremely small. We had to walk sideways to get between our bed and the bathroom. One queen size, one twin and one pullout cot for two adults and two teenagers made it very uncomfortable. The bathroom floor floods when you shower and leaks to the rug outside. You have to sit sideways on the toilet because of the placement of the sink. I am only 5'2" and my feet hung over the small bed. The staff were nice, and the housekeeper works hard, however, the room is poorly designed. Would not stay there again. Also the metro doesn't run after […] 10PM and the shuttle to the hotel stops at 10PM, so inconvenient to reach if your flight arrives after that time. Taxis to hotel cost about 60 euro. The hotel was in the most amazing location, right in the heart of anything you want. My complaint however, is there was no air conditioner or fan. It was in the mid 80's outside so the room was extremely hot. There also was no shower head. It was a hand held nozzle. Basically had to sit in the tub and spray off. Besides that, all was great! Nice four star hotel. Within 10 minute walk to Vatican but not in the high tourist area. Situated in a very safe neighborhood with excellent sidewalk restaurants within 3 blocks. Top shopping road three blocks away and safe area. Hotel is re-doing their rooms. we stayed in both the old and newly renovated. Both were comfortable. The older was darker […] and the newer were brighter with a modern art deco style(?). Standard size European hotel rooms. Breakfast view of Vatican breathtaking and beautiful. Breakfast is just OK. Rude men at the concierge and no free wifi

We're a family of four (2 adults and 2 children ages 7 and 11). As others have mentioned, the roof garden was closed during our stay even though it was featured prominently in the hotel's advertising. The top floor restaurant, however, is beautiful and has a gorgeous view of the Vatican dome. The hotel is nice, close enough to the metro stops to get […] around and very close to the Vatican. We had a "family room" which actually had a separate bedroom and two small cots for the children separated by only about two feet and right next to the bathroom door. WiFi only works down in the lobby and internet access costs 10 Euros/8 hours. Their are nice shops and restaurants just one street over towards the Vatican, Make sure you buy tickets to the Vatican museum online at least the night before you go, it will save you a long line. I never write reviews but I thought I must write about this hotel to warn people. The hotel i nothing like what its website portrays. The room we were in was tiny and had a damp smell and the Roof Garden is closed for renovation and has been for months apparently (no mention on their website or anywhere I could find for that matter). They also hadn't […] cleaned our room properly. For the first time in my life I complained and to my amazement, the response by the staff was effectively "well....tough". The Hotel Atlante Garden which is their sister hotel and the cheaper one, was much nicer. But in any event, from my weekend in Rome, walking all round the city, the nicest place to stay would be anywhere near and just to the left Villa Borghese. The Hotel was not as good as the photo. The lift was out of order so we had to drag our cases down 2 floors, also roof top restaurant garden was closed, which they forgot to mention when we booked a meal.location was good for the vatican. taking all into account it wasnt too bad. just needs some TLC

All that I expected and more. Staff extremely helpful, and accomadating. I will stay here again on my return trip to Rome. I will reccomend it to all my friends.

The Hotel service was great, but the bathrooms need major hardware updates. The beds are terrible, and the pillows are 1.5 inches think (Bad). The location is 2 minutes from Vatican City - we walked with zero problems.

Overall Rome was a bigger city experience. Small rooms, busy metro area. Walking distance to many touristy restaurants with luring waiters flaffing you in like a $5/hr NY parking flag man. I felt this part of Rome was disappointing because of the seedy vendors and hustler style atmosphere of Cafe's, Shops, and street vendors. I Love Rome Italy public […] relations executives need to clean up the city, the streets, the graffiti, and attitutude of the Roman business people. I was proud to be an Italian American in Tuscany, and Surrounding towns across our 3000KM car journey from Pisa to Venice to Naples, but not in Rome. We stayed 3 nights in this hotel about one week ago. The hotel itself is in a very convient location. About a 5 minute walk to Vatican City. Our room was very comfortable. The wall decorations take a little getting used to but the room was clean and comfortable. We were woken up several times by construction noise (which we thought was next door), There […] are some things that I would like to note about the hotel though. First off we chose this hotel for the rooftop garden. I think the garden is the main appeal of this hotel. We could have paid less for a hotel if we did not want access to the garden at night. My mother and I jumped in the lift and chose the rooftop garden button and it would not stay lit up. So we went down to the front desk and asked about it and they informed us that it is not open and will not be open the whole time we were there. This would explain the construction noise that we heard all day long. We were upset and they did not have it advertised anywhere in the hotel or on the website. We also chose this hotel for the airport shutttle. They offer a free shuttle from the airport and $40 a couple to the airport which is a good deal compared to cabs. We had to leave the hotel by 6:00am so when we went down to schedule the shuttle they informed us they do not start running til 7 or 8. This is something else I think they should also advertise. Lastly, when I booked the hotel free WIFI was advertised. Internet does cost money, but its not too much. But if you do not bring a laptop it is way more expensive to use their computer. Overall our stay was good. We did not eat at the hotel. 15 euro a person was too expensive for breakfast when you can walk right down the street and eat at a little cafe for way less. The hotel is clean and conveniently located to the Vatican. The hotel staff is friendly, helpful and speak English well. Their staff is very helpful in providing information and booking transfers or other transportation for you. When they say they are at your disposal they truely mean it.

While the hotel location was good, the hotel room needed some improvements. The bathroom layout was not very convenient as one could not sit on the toilet since the wash basin was directly in front of it. - One need to sit sideways. - The bath tub floor was not flat at all so one had a choice of either having the feet one in front of the other or have […] them parallel with the toes and heels creating a U making it quite uncomfortable to take a shower - The room had twin beds and could not be made into a single bed. - The beds moved very easily. The location of the hotel is exceptional, 5 minute walk to Vatican City, and to many recreations in Rome. The hotel itself is nice cozy, the room was nice, a little bit small though, the bathroom was a reasonable size, but the shower was a pain, the shower head had a lot of pressure. They show a garden roof top that was closed for renovation :(, that […] would have been a cool feature to see. Another good thing about the hotel is that they offer a one way free pick up service from airport Fiumicino (FCO), then to go the airport you have to pay when you leave, or you can take the train, but I think it's worth paying they way back, which isn't much more than the train. Hotel is situated in walking distance of the Vatican. If this is what you are looking for, then this is the hotel for you. However, the rooms are very small. We had requested a superior room and even at that, the room was not big enough to hold 2 guests with luggage.

This is a great Hotel, very clean and tidy. We stayed in a superior room and to be honest it was big enough for the two of us, we had free sky TV, not that we watched it much but good to have on in the background. The rooms decoration was initially a little strange, stripped wallpaper, however once we got used to it, it wasnt a problem at all. The […] breakfast room was brilliant, it was never busy up there and the view was absolutely brilliant, it overlooks St Peter's just like the photos from their website. The only thing was that the terrace wasnt open, but this didnt affect our trip one bit. The breakfast is simple but ideal for us, a selection of meat, cheese, bread, yoghurts and Eggs... Oh and lovely croissants. Overall this was a great hotel and after reading a few other reviews about how they had bad experiences we definately did not and would stay at this hotel again when we return to Rome. Sentralt hotell, rett ved Vatikanet og med kort vei til bykjernen og alle severdighetene. Den flotte takterrassen hotellet reklamerer med var stengt og det virket ikke som den skulle åpne igjen på en stund. OK rom, rent og fint, litt kronglete innredet. Noe harde senger. Flott utsikt mot Peterskirka fra rommene som ligger i andre etasje og oppover. […] Noe trafikkstøy, særlig i helga. Hotellet var enkelt men ok, mötte förväntningarna för att vara så pass "gammalt" och i mer traditionell stil. Om vi hade rest med barn eller haft behov av att spendera mer tid på hotellet så var rummen små och hotellets faciliteter i övrigt inte riktigt vad man hade behövt då. Tagterrassen var lukket pga. reparation, Vi havde booket dobbeltværelse med to enkeltsenge til vores store teenagebørn, men fik med dobbeltseng den første nat. Trådløst Internet pr. betaling (dyrt). Vandhanen larmede, udluftningen larmede, værelset var meget varmt, vi kunne ikke regulere det.

Med 4 stjerner og høy pris burde dette være bra. Hotellet var ok, men rommet vi fikk var under enhver kritikk. Lite og skrekkelig varmt. Badet hadde dusjforheng og en dusj festet så høyt oppe at den var vanskelig å nå. TV'en var veldig liten og kunne ikke slås av med fjernkontrollen. Dessuten var personalet ikke spesielt hyggelige. Godt hotel med god service og venligt personale! God beliggenhed i forhold til Skt. Peters Kirken og centrum! Hotellets morgenmad er dog ikke pengene værd.

Hotelli sijaitsee loistavalla paikalla. Hyvät bussiyhteydet kaikkiin nähtävyyksiin, Pietarinkirkkoon kävellen 5 minuutissa. Huoneet pienet, mutta melko mukavat. Aamiaishuoneesta loistavat näkymät, vaikka aamiaisen hinta on melko korkea. Kattoterassiravintola valitettavasti ei ollut auki. Aulabaarissa kodikas tunnelma.

Отель понравился. Разместили быстро. Номера небольшие. Убирают хорошо. Персонал приветлив. Завтраки средние (хотя с чем сравнивать). Вид из ресторана - просто шикарный! Располагается отель практически у Ватикана (300 метров), поэтому для тех кто едет в Рим только для экскурсий - место супер (для шопоголиков - лучше ближе к Площади Испании). Formule sans petit déjeuner très agréable avec une chambre propre, un accueil chaleureux et une situation vraiment idéale de l'hotel, à 10 minutes du centre historique et 5 minutes à pied du Vatican.

Bardzo miły hotel w centrum Rzymu. Wspaniały widok na bazylike św. Piotra z okna hotelu i z restauracji na 6 piętrze.
