"Just okay"
I had been staying at another hotel for the rest of my stay, but found myself needing a room for another night closer to I-94. The hotel looks very impressive for the cost when you first enter, but the rooms themselves leave something to improve upon. The bedspread looked like it was at least 20+ years old and the blanket underneath had holes and several […] worn spots. Having a fridge and microwave in the room was nice, but pretty standard for this class of hotel. The breakfast was okay. I would prefer a hotel with an 11am checkout time, but the staff were very courteous about me needing an extra half hour. The hotel was fine…quiet, but not really located near anything interesting to look at--acroos from a casino. But, for the price, it was a decent choice. There is breakfast (hash instead of bacon or sausage). This was nice, and popcorn at night. The pool is a bit small, but no real complaints.

Close to Oneida Casino. Casino will shuttle you back and forth. Note: Casino has slots and poker room, but NO table games. We got a jacuzzi suite which was very nice and worth the price. Room was clean. Breakfast in the morning was very nice. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful when needed.

Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, very good breakfast buffet. Not keen on the 'hash,' sausage links or patties would be a big improvement. Otherwise ver happy with this hotel for the price.
Staff was very helpful. Housekeeping did a great job. Wifi worked without a hitch. Very easy access to major highways S. of Madison.
We were in town for the State Boys Basketball Tournament.......our stay was very nice and the breakfast was great! Wish it would have been closer to the Kohl Center, but we appreciated the "shuttle" to the center!!!

"Grand Magunson - Madison"
We had no hot water because the hotels system was in need of a upgrade. I made the manager fully aware of the situation and was credited a night stay plus given a free future night. I was very pleased with how he handled the situation and I would go back to stay there.

Me and my husband spent valentine day there and it was just beautiful. It was a last minute decesion and the staff were friendly and the atmosphere is just marvelous

I loved that the pool and hot tub were open 24 hours. Did not like finding the hot tub full of teenagers at midnight (posted sign said they were to be out @ 10). Breakfast was very good (scrambled eggs, biscuits n gravy, cereal, muffins, donuts) but do go early if the hotel is busy. We went down @ 9 (starts @ 7) and the eggs, yogurt, fruit, and waffle […] batter were gone or nearly gone. The room was clean and very comfortable (3 pillows on each bed!). I would definitely go back as it was a great value and a good location - we attended a concert @ the coliseum & the drive was less than 15 minutes. Uzziniet vairāk

My room was ok (rather liked the couch in the room for seating and desk area). But the location and ability to find a restaurant near the hotel was not so great. Good price for the night.

I really liked it ~ the people were very nice! Very friendly and helpful! The room had everything I needed, great water pressure in the shower, hair dryer, great internet connection, even an iron. I will stay there again!

"Only stay if you can get a discounted rate"
The room wasn't the cleanest and the furniture a little run down. If you are into casinos there is one that is really close by. They even send a shuttle bus to the hotel. I Only chose this hotel because it was advertised as being offered at a discount rate, however once I clicked on it, it went back to it's regular rate?? I have stayed at many different hotels in the midwest. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Had a guy smoking a funny smelling cigarette across the hall with his door open. The hotel's fix to this problem was to spray air freshener. I did not feel comfortable staying here with my children. I would recommend staying anywhere else in Madison. This hotel is tucked into a back road between I-94/12, so it can be a little hard to find if you don't know where you're going. The hotel itself is exactly what you'd expect for a low-mid range hotel. The furnishings are old but everything is clean and pleasant enough. I will say that when we checked in we were horrified to find that the room absolutely […] reeked of cigarette smoke and whatever cleaner they had tried to use to cover up the odor. The room smelled awful, and we wouldn't have stayed another night at any price. Thankfully the help was able to quickly set us up in a different room that smelled just fine. If we had stayed in that room the whole weekend the whole experience would have been bad, as I said, we wouldn't have stayed if they were the ones paying us. We were looking for a place to stay at the last minute and the city of Madison was booked full. There was a dairy expo in town, a tennis match and a football game. Hotels.com found us this gem and what a gem it is! It's just a bit out of the way, you wouldn't find it on your own. "Magnuson Grand Hotel Madison"
We really enjoyed staying here. I got this hotel because others were booked. The place was quiet. Beds were comfortable. Staff was exceptionally pleasant. The "continental breakfast" was a full, delicious breakfast. It was close enough to all our places of interest by being right off the beltline (Hwys 12 & 18). We will defintely stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel for the Ironman. This is a rather old, but clean and quiet hotel so if you need that, it's a good place to stay for the money. Right off of 39/90 and 12 (Beltline), though it can be difficuly to get onto the main roads during rush hours. This was a great place to stay. It's quiet, clean, has friendly service, and all for an affordable price. The beds are a little stiff , but I have yet to be at a hotel where that has never happened. We were very pleased with our stay. We were traveling with grandchildren and the pool was an extra treat for everyone. Having breakfast available on site made it easy to get on our way. Really nice stay with very hospitable staff. The breakfeast was really good and had lots of options.
Excellent internet connections (which I put to good use). Shuttle took me where I wanted to go when I needed it, & the front desk was excellent. Downsides: a) breakfast was no better than average (no meat, but there were eggs - the "biscuits & gravy" lovers would be OK) b) No A/C in the elevators c) The restaurant within walking distance is a sports […] bar w/no separate dining room (not apparent until you walk inside) - but if you're OK w/that, you can get discount coupons @ the front desk. Wonderful, helpful staff. Nice pool area. Very clean hotel. Yes, it is off the beaten path a little but easy to get to other places. Breakfast was good. A little variety in the "hot bar" part would be nice. Would recommend this hotel to others in a heart beat!

i have stayed at this hotel several times. the hotel fell short the second time. none of the tioletries were replenished the second day of our stay. The wake up call came a half hour late and as a result i was late for a meeting.

The hotel is in a strange, rural-feeling location next to...nothing. It is clean, the room was enormous and spotless, the pool was well maintained and open 24/7. Not a bad deal compared to other hotels in the area. Breakfast was good with hot eggs, gravy, etc.

I was very impressed with the quality of the hotel for the price. It is not close to any grocery store or gas station but it is in a very nice location off the freeway enough to be quiet.. The pool is small but nice, hot tub was great.
The location is very convenient and rooms are comfortable. The mini-fridge and microwave were awesome to have as we did not have to eat out as often! One of the beds in our room had a very large dip in the middle which was unfortunate as it was somewhat uncomfortable...We had a change of plans and had to leave 1 day early and even though the required […] cancellation period had passed the staff was willing to work with us and allowed a full refund for the night. On our cross-country trip, after a long day driving, it was so pleasant to come to a place that was clean, easy to find, modern and had a great breakfast buffet. Desk clerk was as sweet as pie.

This is a really nice hotel. It has a pool, which is great. It's near a Harley dealership and a bar, but don't let that worry you. There was a big motorcycle rally when I was there and you couldn't hear a thing. Breakfast is good, but they serve the same thing every day. Rooms are clean, though carpets could use a scrub. My only worry was that the dishwasher […] caught fire while we were there and the alarms went off (which I slept right through) but no one came to evacuate us. They only evacuated the first floor, and just left the rest of us! One of the patrons had to put the fire out and flip the breaker because the staff all panicked!
