we had a great time.

Ok for the price. The hotel was undergoing some construction. The room was outdated but clean. The bed and pillows could use some updating as well.

This hotel was excellent in all aspects. The room we stayed in was very clean and it looked almost new. The bed was comfortable and the pool was beautiful. I rate this hotel a 5 star.

There is some construction happening in the lobby of the hotel but it didn't bother us. The hotel was clean and they have a pet friendly wing of the hotel. There is an additional $10 pet fee that is not included in your hotels.com reservation.

If you want to stay in South Portland (which I recommend if you are traveling to surrounding areas), this is a good deal. We slept very well on comfortable beds. Breakfast was a little stingy, but not awful. The pool and fitness room were okay. The hotel could use a little facelift, but nothing serious. very good value...inexpensive, clean and convienent.

The only issue I had with the hotel was that I requested a refrigerator and it wasnt in the room.. And when it was delivered it didn't work... As a diabetic I need it for my snacks and insulin

This was an average hotel for a great price. We stayed two nights and found the staff helpful and the hotel clean enough. The pool was a little small and there was no hot tub. Overall for the price we paid through Hotels.com I would never complain. It had a free continental breakfast to get our day started and it was a quick jump onto the highway to […] all kinds of shopping venues. Initially we were offered a smoking room that was dingy and smelled awful (we were non-smokers of course) but the staff quickly moved us and our next room was great on the main floor. The rooms are not elaborate, just the basic, but fine particularly for a "stop over". It had a fairly large television but it is probably time to update the the beds. We took the train the next day to Boston and the train station was close by as well. I have recommended this hotel to friends that are looking for a budget friendly spot to stay. An indoor pool was advertised but was closed for repairs & we were directed to use the pool at another hotel which was small, crowded and had no changing room or shower. Our room felt around 50º when we arrived and, although we turned the heat up to 90º, it never seemed much warmer than 55º. We used the blankets from both beds to sleep and warmed the […] bathroom with the hair dryer in the morning. The pool was closed, which I wish had been disclosed by hotels.com when I made the reservation. Bare minimum hotel. Booked 2 rooms which were on different floors...good thing we didn't actually use the other room for the teenagers we were going to have with us.

We stayed there prior to taking a flight for a cruise. Rate was very reasonable and we were able to keep our car there for $4/day. The room was nice but it had a musty smell. The first night we stayed it rained and the carpet in the hallway outside our room was seeping wet. We stayed there 2 nights a week apart. Fist night we were put into the old part of the hotel and had requested non smoking. Room smelled of mold and smoke. The next week we came back from our trip and asked for a room in the new part of the hotel. The room was very clean and a good size. This is a very good value, large rooms and close to convenience shoppiing. Friendly staff.

Everything was great about my one night stay including an early ride to the airport with one big exception, the bed was slightly stiffer than a rock. The price, location, staff, cleanliness, and non bed related comfort were great. But when it came time to sleep, the bed was no help.

Our room was impeccably clean and quiet.

Good for the price and location. Internet did not work in room. Had to use their computer or sit in hall. Hair dryer needed to be replaced.

This was a well run location, very clean, very pleasant staff. It is very close to most amenities you could need: restaurants, coffee shop, etc. The only downside is that they no longer have their onsite restaurant, but we wouldn't have gone to the wonderful restaurant they recommended otherwise, like I said, very pleasant. I, by mistake wanted a hotel closer to the mall area and booked what I thought was Mall Rd but of course was off Route 1. Appearance of motel, rundown, I was placed in room on backside, 1st floor, not well lighted, an outside entrance just off my room, traffic coming in and out constantly. Finally requested that I be changed to upstairs room as I did […] not feel safe, in that location of the hotel. They gladly accomodated me and this room was much better. Loved this HoJo. Had great room on ground floor near two doors to the outside; very private, and I could easily take my little dog out to the grassy areas for a walk. Hotel staff fantastic. Friendly and helpful. Great location. Great rooms. Coffee okay.

The area is a bit run down. Not a lot of services (restaurants, etc.) near by. The room was good for the price. I was reluctant to park my car near my room because of poor lighting and parked it in the main parking lot which had better lighting.

The hotel is in a very good location and easy access to a variety of areas. The housekeeping was not good. There was a bathtub ring when checked into the room. It was not taken care of the next day either. Finally a note left, got it clean. After asking for a refrigerator, one was never delivered. Excellent hotel for the money. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I felt safe due to doors being in interior corridor. I thought the exercise room meet my needs (elliptical machine, stationary bike, and 2 treadmills. Easy excess to downtown Portland ( I-295 takes you to downtown in 7 to 10 minutes). Didn't expect much going in, but was appalled by the apparent lack of a working vacuum cleaner. The carpeting in the halls, elevator and main areas was covered in crumbs and debris. Areas that looked like they had seen a vacuum within the past year had a 1-2 inch border of dust all around the walls where the vacuum rollers didn't reach. I won't stay again if it where free..

This hotel is the 'worst' I have ever stayed at.... 1). The is a step before entering the room which at times I forget and found myself fallin and tripping at times.... 2). The hotel clerks charged me 25 cents a copy to print paper from the business center... 3). The hotel clerk were NOT knowledgable to give proper and accurate directions to resturants […] and to the closest mall. I ended up lost and driving around aimlessly... 4) The bathroomwas dirty and the room had a terrible 'ordor.' I complained to the front desk to clean the bathroom free of excessive hair and spray the room. In my opinion, the room I believed, was not spray or vacum upon my returned from business. 5. Great time

We love this hotel. We stayed at a competitors hotel for 3 days prior. We will not stay at another hotel while in Portland. The staff was helpful, room was clean and larger then our previous hotel room.

Clean and comfortable room with friendly staff. Numerous local restaurants and easy access to Portland. My only complaint would be that the "Continental Breakfast" room is small and was very crowded. Ice machine on the second floor was "out of service". these are small things and in general I would recommend.

Good location, non smoking rooms odor free, front lobby very smOky smelling. Rooms clean. Decor could use some up dating. I would stay again

First impression was not good. We walked into the main lobby and it stunk so bad of cirgarettes plus with it raining outside the smell was awlful. The rooms were clean but the towels you could blow through. Also you could hear the people next door and above us using the washroom, not very pleasant. This hotel is a more affordable but high quality option for a visit to Portland, where lodging is quite pricey in summer. It is 15 minutes by car from the Portland waterfront. The hotel housekeeping service left a little bit to be desired (we left our room at 11 am and they didn't clean it all day). I reserved a non-smoking room. When I checked in, my room smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke. I requested to change rooms but was told that my room was a non-smoking room and there were no more rooms available. I had a headache from the stench and got little sleep. Simply removing ash trays does not make a hotel room non-smoking.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! It was very dirty. Dogs barking - no soundproof whatsoever. Management did nothing about it. Just apologized for the noise. Went to leave in the AM and there was Puke outside the door! Was not even cleaned up! GROSS!!!! Do not book here unless you enjoy filth!!!

We were travelling in Maine as a group, and needed 4 rooms for our last night. Booking at HJ online was easy, and the rooms were very good. It was easy to find, and it was near some very good restaurants. Checkout was a breeze and it's within 10 minutes of the Jetport. We all were very pleased with the rooms. Very nice room. Staff very curtious.

We loved the location. In general the hotel was a bit "worn out", but it was clean and our room was comfortable. Close to the mall, and seven minutes from downtown . Check-in and check-out was fast . On the whole, I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

We are travelling through the US and are booking typically one day in advance. It turned out to be difficult to get something decent in this neighbourhood. The hotel was quite high priced compared to what it offered. It had everything, but everything was old and worn out.

Needed a last minute place to stay for a trip to Portland Maine. I knew things would be heavily booked and relatively pricey in that area in late July (peak tourist season). The hotel was nice and clean. Just looking for a place to sleep and take a shower. It was plenty good for all of that. The King sized bed was comfortable.
