Hotel service was good, staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel us ideally located for a night out as well as transport links via bus or train.

I think it was ok for the price, very old and worn out, but working fine, except from one thing, the wireless internet can ONLY be accessed if you have an UK postcode - that is quite inconve´nient and as business traveller I will not go there again.

I've been staying at this hotel every few weeks over the last year due to work. It's been slowly improving as time goes on with a bit of refurbishment and a better breakfast. It's not the most luxurious of hotels but it does provide a decent service at affordable rates. And it's in a very convenient location next to the parks and close to the Civic […] Centre, the West Quay shopping centre, the new Sea City Museum and it's just a short walk from the railway station. It has a few quirky features such as providing liquid soap, shampoo, shower gel & body lotion in refillable bottles. They also always seem to provide a cushion for the chair in the room but insist on placing it on the bed! Every room I've been in also has one light bulb out of the three in the room not working, not sure if they're trying to save energy or they're just a bit lax putting in replacements! There seems to be quite a bit of variety in room sizes and it seems to be pot luck as to whether you get a big one or a small one. The walls are also quite thin so if you get a noisy person in the room next door it can be annoying but if you don't then no problem. When I've had minor problems - such as a small leak from the sink in the bathroom the staff have been very good in getting it rapidly fixed with the promise of a new room if they couldn't fix it. The self service buffet breakfast is good although fairly limited in choice, but they provide all the things I like - weetabix, fruit juice, sausages, bacon, fried eggs, mushrooms, baked beans, fried potatoes, black pudding, toast & marmite - so I get a good hearty start to the day! The hotel also has a health spa with a swimming pool and sauna that hotel guests can use, but I've not got round to using them yet but I'm determined to have a go next visit and work off those big breakfasts! i have used the hotel many times ,it is close to the rail station and to southampton city center .the rooms are clean beds comfy .good breakfast,

I arrived around midnight expecting to have difficulties getting in but the night porter was there quickly to check me in. He was friendly and efficient.

My second visit to the Southampton Park Hotel. It could still do with some refurbishment, but overall a pleasant stay. Conveniently located next to the park and close to some nice pubs and restaurants as well as city centre shops. Breakfast was good if you like a full English - which I do - but a bit limited in choice otherwise. One day I'll be there […] when I'm fit enough to try out the Health Club with its swimming pool. I stayed in this hotel overnight from 12th-13th November. I found the staff very helpful, the room very clean and bed very comfortable. Everything worked well. Bathroom needs updating. I would recommend this hotel, but would warn that breakfast was disappointing. You had to serve yourself and there were bits missing, like butter. I love a cup of tea […] but the milk jug had been left from a previous guest with a very small amount of milk in it. The tea was undrinkable, so the lack of milk did not matter. I would book again as my daughter is at university and it is close to where she lives, but would know what to expect at breakfast next time. Uzziniet vairāk

First impression of this hotel was that it needed a complete revamp,the revolving entrance door is so shabby as is the whole inside of the hotel.The decor of the bedroom was so drab,in fact it reminded my wife of rooms in a nursing Home which she worked in during the late sixties ! She doesnt recall the floor boards squeaking like they did in that room,we […] felt sorry for whoever was in the room below ,worse was to come,we walked into the bedroom following breakfast one morning to find the bed stripped,we were horrified to see old staines on the mattress cover but worse than that old blood stains on the pillow,my wife went to the reception to report this,she asked if the duty manager was there ,the girl at reception asked what the problem was & said she would tell him as he was busy.We waited for about 20 mins but he never came to speak to us,my wife had to go back to the desk to ask to speak to him,This man desperately needs to do a course in dealing with guest complaints,his attitude was such that my wife felt she was just more of a nuisance,he decided he would come up to the room,after walking the 3 flights of stairs during which time he never spoke,he looked at the bedding & agreed the pillow should not be on the bed,we were offered a very "weak" sorry.Had it not been our 2nd last day there we would have moved out.wont ever be back to this hotel. Stayed there in May and everything in need on TLC, heard that the hotel was changing hands so assumed that was the reason for the general state of disrepair. However when I stayed there in August it was even worse!! The paintwork in the hallways and on the stairs was peeling and looked really tatty, the taps in my bathroom were not just dripping but […] actually running till someone sorted them the next day for me and the noise from the floorboards upstairs was dreadful. The breakfast used to be cooked to order except at the weekend but now its on a hotplate every morning, on my first morning the eggs were sitting in an inch of oil, the beans were dried up completely and the sausages had run out and took 10 minutes to get more. The next day I didn't bother but noticed that the staff didn't pay much attention to the hotplate and at one point there were 5 people standing waiting for more eggs and more bacon which took ages to arrive and 2 of the people gave up waiting. Finally the swimming pool was great and has chlorine in it, when I came out in a rash from the jacuzzi i spoke to one of the leisure centre staff and was told that the jacuzzi for some reason has bromine in it. As I am obviously allegic to it and know some other people are too, why is there no sign up informing people of this when it is obviously a health issue. Uzziniet vairāk

With the exception of lack of air conditioning, this hotel was a good place to stay. They were all very accommodating to us and served a wonderful full British breakfast. Of course it was unseasonably warm for England when we were there. A fan was provided so we slept in comfort. It was a good stop. NT & PT from Texas

My 2 night visit to Southampton was for business purposes and a comfortable room and spa to relax after a working day, are large on my list of priorities.Unfortunatly the facilites here are very dated and run down, with plaster coming of the walls in the pool and changing rooms that left a lot to be desired. On a summers night with no air con the room […] was very stuffy and uncomfortable. The staff though were very friendly and helpful. The first days breakfast was outstanding being served on the plate with everything hot and including mushrooms and black pudding. Unfortunatley on the 2nd morning it was a buffet breafast ( because they were busy I was told) it was luke warm with no mushrooms or black pudding. For the price its good value on par with out of town motels and as they have no restaurent just around the corner from a clutch of eateries. I spent four nights at the Southampton Park Hotel. My single room was quite small but had a big bathroom. The room furnishings had seen better days and were a bit battered but did their job OK. Being on a main road it was a bit noisy with the window open, but good double glazing kept it quiet once shut. Thin walls meant I could hear the TV in the room […] next door and annoyingly the person in there had it on loud until the early hours so I didn't get much sleep for a couple of nights. One of the electric sockets didn't work but I only needed one for my laptop. Could have done with a power shower as the water pressure was low and even with the taps full on I only got a light spray out the shower head. I believe there is a Leisure Club in the hotel with a swimming pool and steam room, but there was no information about it in the room and I didn't have much spare time anyway so didn't investigate further. very nice staff nice room excellent that has pool, spa pool, sauna and steam room really enjoyed my stay was perfect for my little baby girl too :) would deffinately recomend!!

We found the hotel good value. Although the rooms need modern decoration they all conveniences and were very claen, and there was a very good braekfast. My only complaint was that you could hear all that was going on in the next room and in the hallway.

We book ed a premier room for two people. There was no bath, a view of a brick wall, one bath towel for two people, and complimentary toiletteries were also promised, there was a few bottles of half used liquid soap. Where were the comnplimentary toiletteries, how could half used items be left for other guests that had been used by someone else, this […] was very unhygienic. Beware of weekend wedding parties unless you are participating. drunken guests banging, shouting and knocking on doors throughout the night. staff said this is normal and just appologised. Pool area shut by 7pm on Satutrday evening so no chance to try the facilities after our long trip. I was working nearby for a few days in Shirley and needed a place to crash after intensive days. The room was fine, adequate with nice toiletries. Only used the pool and sauna once found both to be clean and although the pool a little small, pleasant enough. Breakfast was good - particularly poached eggs and kippers. Parking wasn't free but with an […] NCP behind the hotel, it was reasonable enough over night.. about £3 after 6 I think. Location was best feature - opposite park and museum/gallery/university was great meaning that a stroll over the road meant plenty of places to eat within close proximity. Know Southampton well and this was a great price for the location, just a 5 minute walk to station and main shopping area. Only downside is having to park at the NCP multistory but it's right behind the hotel so easy to get to (not cheap, but cheapest parking in area really). Hotel staff were all friendly and helpful (only exception being slightly grumpy […] receptionist upon arrival but I'll let that slide)! Hotel is old but very clean and everything worked. Although on main road it's a quiet area of Southampton but a short walk / taxi ride to restaurants & main shopping area. I stayed at this hotel in 2008, and recently in October 2010. This hotel provides many amenities , such as pool, sauna, steam room, pub, restaurant, and comfortable sitting room where one can enjoy the morning newspapers, over coffee or tea. The reception staff were very polite, and could give directions on walking or travelling in the vicinity. Restaurant […] menus were freshly prepared, and very tasty. The chef obviously was professional. The breakfast was included, and was a full English breakfast, or Continental if you preferred, or both! The economy-single room was a bit small, but comfortable, with cable TV, coffee maker, clean and large bathroom, and plenty of daylight windows. This hotel should remodel or redecorate the rooms, with regards to wallpapers, and paint. Otherwise, the stay was quiet, and I enjoyed it very much for 4 days. This Hotel is not in the center of the town but South Hampton is small enough the walking distance didn't bother us, maybe a 3 minute walk. There is a pub downstairs, rec room with sauna, gym, and pool, the restaurant was good for breakfast that was included. I guess there is wifi but not computer to use if you need one there is a internet cafe in a […] mall you must walk to which was about 1 pound 50 for an hour I think. The room was big and worth the amount paid. There was also a big bath tup to take a bath in. Overall we had a very good experience Uzziniet vairāk

The hotel is dated, the lift was out of order but there was no suggestion of helping with luggage at check-out time. Most of the staff were foreign and the reception staff were decidedly unhelpful and not at all knowledgable about the trains, buses or nearby locations.

The hotel is one of the oldest in Southampton and it shows. It is in urgent need of redecoration. The lift rarely worked whilst I was there. However, the standard of food is quite good, yet relatively inexpensive. But several of the younger restaurant staff need training. But its biggest drawback (if you have a car) is that it does not have car parking […] and the nearest car park costs about £13 (about $22) for a 24 hour period. After being in a small B&B hotel in London, the Southampton Park Hotel feels like luxury. The room was large, the bathroom was large. I spent a few relaxing days at this hotel.

Room was small, dirty, old fashioned and extremely hot. Would only reccomend if you have a strict budget.

Hotel which is not among the xpencive ones, but still OK. Breakfast is included, which saves you the trouble finding somewhere to eat.

Jeg havde foretaget reservation og betalt på internettet, men de kunne ikke finde min reservation ved check in. Værelset stank af klorin og da klorindampene fortog sig, lugtede der underligt. Skummelt sted med rotter på gaden om aftenen.

Das Hotel ist sauber und einfach gestrickt. Personal sehr freundlich. Es liegt in der Nähe vom Zentralbahnhof und dem Kreuzfahrtschiffhafen.

Vi reiser til Southampton én gang i året og har funnet et hotell vi er svært fornøyd med både prismessig, beliggenheten og valuta for pengene. Eneste minuset denne gangen var at heisen var i uorden 4 av de 5 dagene vi var der, og når vi bodde i 4 etg ble det forståelig nok endel trim. I was so surprised, in the good way. - My room was a single room, but nevertheless compared to my other hotels in England, this room was large, so was the bathroom. - The leisure club is great, and for that the hotel should have 4 stars instead of 3, I think... Thanx for a good stay in Southampton!!

Rien a dire sur l'hôtel, excellent emplacement, le petit déjeuné copieux, propreté et l'accueil irréprochable. Seul inconvénient la piscine est faite juste pour nager, on a pas de droit de s'amuser dedans...

Small, friendly hotel close to the town centre and railway station. Good breakfast and nice personnel. Taxi drived did not find the hotel, until called somebody with his mobile??

Vi har bodd på dette hotellet flere ganger. Det er noe slitt, men fullt brukbart. Hotellet ligger sentralt og er rimelig. Vi har alltid fått rom vekk fra trafikken. Kunne ønsket oss noe bedre service ved frokosten. Vi reiser til Southampton ca 1 gang i året og kommer nok til fortsatt å bo på Southampton Park hotel.

Das Parkhotel liegt zentral in der Innenstadt von Southampton, man kann die Solent Universität, den Bahnhof, die Innenstdtgeschäfte bequem zu Fuß erreichen. Zum ersten Mal gab es in einem von uns besuchten Hotel in Southampton auch wirklich das angekündigte kontentinentale Frühstück, auch das andere Essen aus der Hotelküche war lecker.

I was very happy of my stay in this hotel. The hotel is close to the station, close to the town center. The room (single one) was not big, but enough for a business stay and everything was clean. My room was quiet, windows on the back of the building. I even can join an aquagym training in the swimming pool.
