"Not Worth the Money"
If you stay in this hotel, the location is great and the lobby looks amazing. But the rooms are not worth the money. the view was great but the bathroom was smaller than a closet and it was not anything special. The other problem that we had was that on the morning when we were going to leave, housekeeping knocked on our door at 9:30 to ask us when […] we would be leaving. We could have looked that over but then at 10:00 they knocked again. Check out was not until 12:30 so my husband and I felt rushed. I thought this was going to be a great hotel because I did not want to believe some of the more negative reviews. But this hotel is definitely not worth the money and you will be disappointed. This hotel was close to P & L and at first glance looked nice. However it was not exceptionally clean, you have to pay for parking as a guest, and the room I got was a one bedroom suite right next to the elevators so even with a room between the back wall of the elevators and the bedroom I got to listen to them going up and down all night. "Crown Royal in Kansas City, MO"
Excellent spot for where we needed to be. The only thing I didn't like was the parking fee. I can understand charging $10 or more a night for people who aren't guests of the hotel, but charging $13 a night for people who are actually staying at the hotel is a bit absurd.
"Crowne Plaza, Power and Light District, KC"
Great location! Friendly. Rooms clean enough for an older hotel. Large rooms. Comfortable bed, good pressure/easy operate shower. All fine except sleep was disturbed at each end of the night due to a noisy air conditioning unit - we ended up turning it off...and the bedside clock-alarm went off at 6am in the morning but we had not set the alarm.

Our stay at the Crowne Plaza was extremely pleasant. Not only was the front desk staff courteous but our room was much larger than we had expected (not a bad surprise)! Also, when we ordered room service, the food was delicious! A definite recommendation for anyone staying downtown in Kansas City.

"Great experience at the Crowne Plaza - Ks City"
My lady and I stayed one night and are extremely satisfied with this hotel. The location was great, right in the middle of the power & light district. In addition to a great service, the staff more than friendly, and the room very comfortable. Despite having a few issues with a somewhat noisy a/c unit in the bedroom, the hotel manager and the rest of […] staff was more than accommodating and made our stay extremely enjoyable. "Nice hotel but poor service"
This hotel has a shuttle service you can utilize. However don't count on it being available - we had it drop us off at a restaurant a few miles away and arranged a pick up. The shuttle never picked us up and we waited outside for over an hour. the pool is very nice with a great view but it is small and there are few chairs so stake your spot early. Staff was very good, parking garage was good, checkin parking was a little troublesome as there is not much outdoor parking by the hotel. Rooms were good except bathrooms are a little on the small side. Our sleep number beds were nice to sleep on but the controls didnot work correctly by showing the numbers. The room service wine and food was excellent. Comfy bed even though the Sleep Number system was non-functional. Excellent stay. Very comfortable. Just wish that Sleep Number bed worked.

The garage elevators were down and that made for an long walk up and down the garage stairs. The rooms were small but king bed was comfortable. The overall apperance of the hotel was average, it could have used a good cleaning. Crumbs were scattered throughout our room. The hotel overall was very nice and had an excellent workout facility and close to the things we were doing. The housekeeping lacked in that we stayed 2 nights, however, the coffee and cups were not replenished for the second night and only the beds were made. "Crown Plaza"
Could have used help with our bags when we arrived. Didn't see a bellman. The beds were comfy and the room was spacious and clean. Room service was quick and the food was very good. The signal on the TV froze a few times. The business center PC's were helpful, but neither of the printers were working.

"Not a great stay"
It was very noisy from people being loud all night long, so we did not get any restful sleep, despite using ear-plugs. Had a problem with the faucet in bath-tub. Our first request for service the day we checked in was ignored. We had to make a second request the following morning before anyone came to the room to fix the faucet. Found receipts and deoderant […] next to one of the beds from a previous guest. Don't know how house-keeping couldn't see this stuff if they actually cleaned the room and made that bed. "Parking Nightmare"
Two night stay. Barely able to park first night in 6 story parking garage and second night not at all. Were rudely told they had a large wedding and the contract with the wedding party guaranteed their guests parking so they hotel guests were out of luck, even though they were charging double digits to park. They said we could park 4 blocks away with […] no valet service and something might open up later. Did refund parking fee, but ridiculous hotel guests could not park. "Disappointment"
Hotel staff is freiendly and polite however, rooms are outdated. Sleep number beds would not work, towels were not restocked on second of three night stay. This is a below average Crown Plaza.

"EXTREMELY SHORT STAFFED!!!"
The staff was friendly but there were not nearly enough of them. If the hotel is booked or nearly booked don't even try to eat there. One cook, one server for a hotel with thousands of guests. A wait of 2 hrs AFTER food order was placed. Tables had to share menus.Tried to preorder breakfast by filling out the form they provided and hanging it on our […] door as instructed but it was never picked up by the zero staff. Why did we bother?? At this point it had become a very frustrating joke. UNACCEPTABLE for a hotel of this supposed caliber charging 4-5 star rates. With a 6,000 person convention (booked every year) AND a 15,000 plus Paul McCartney concert a few blocks away AND a booked hotel, you think they would be prepared and beef up their staff. The cleanliness of the room was 2 star at best. Dirty carpet needs replacing, dirty bathroom floor, sticky in some places. Perhaps this hotel needs new management. Not worth it for the money. Not as nice as we thought. VERY small bathrooms that were poorly lit. Fairly convenient. Stay at the Westin for 30 more dollars a night.

"Great Experience!"
We had a king suite and it was amazing! Our window overlooked the pool and city. The staff went above and beyond, when we had a couple of hiccups. The room was very clean and the location was perfect for us!.

I'd return to this hotel again. Rate was decent and in general, it was a nice place to stay. Location was great. The AC worked well in the living room part of the suite, but not at all in the bedroom part. The bed was unusually firm. There were a couple of suspect spots on the decorative pillows on the bed and top cover, but nothing on the sheets, etc. […] The elevators in this hotel took FOREVER. It's a high rise, but the use of the card to access our floor was initially confusing and then we were not able to get an elevator to come to our floor upon our departure so we took the stairs. Room was clean but refrigerator and microwave had been removed. Room was across from elevators servicing parking lot and generated a lot of noise throughout the night. Greeted at front door of hotel by panhandler. Service was friendly and tried to bee helpful, but front desk was slow and somewhat chaotic. I would not stay here again.
"Perfect Stay"
My friends and I only stayed a night, but enjoyed it as much as we could. Even with 3 of us in one room, it was still very comfortable. It's also perfectly located near the Power & Light District, which made it perfect for a great night out. The only complaint we had was the poor communication about the parking garage. Otherwise, two thumbs up!

The room was very spacious - although they gave me a handicap room, which I'm not sure why. So perhaps the other rooms were smaller, I'm not sure.

I liked the sleep number bed but I wish the staff wouldn't have changed the setting. I had to keep checking to see that it was where I wanted it. If they don't have a way to let staff know that the same person is in that room an entire week, they should so that things like that do not change. It surprised me that the bartenders would disappear for awhile […] several times during an hour. I'm not sure what they were doing, but they weren't very visible at times. I don't drink much, but I kind of felt bad for those who wanted service and it was not available. The location was great as there was a market just two blocks away. The Power & Light District was just a bit further but within easy walking distance. "Needs Work"
The best thing about this hotel is the location. The staff were friendly, but the hotel smelled old and somewhat musty and the rooms felt like a Super 8....needs some updating or it will fall by the way side.
"All in all a good stay"
The bed was very comfortable. The room nicely appointed. We appreciated all of the little extras provided to make our stay that much more comfortable. This hotel is near a train station and you can hear them go by particularly at night so be for warned. The hotel does provide ear plugs however.
"Right Where You Want To Be"
We wanted to explore the KC nightlife, and this was the perfect place to do it. The hotel was very nice, and the free parking was a plus for a hotel downtown. Best of all, it was only blocks away from the Light and Power District which impressed both of us. A good choice for a night downtown.

My only problem with the stay was that no parking was available in the hotel lot. It was 8:30 at night and the lot was full. Very big problem parking blocks away then transporting luggage.

The hotel was located centrally in downtown Kansas City. Within blocks of the Sprint Center and the Power and Light District. The room was located on one of the higher floors and had a nice view. Another plus was the Starbucks located in the lobby! Only complaint was the lack of any staff present in the hotel grill despite our visit during their business […] hours. "Needs significant improvement"
The hotel was Ok, but not 4 star. The front desk was not helpful. The power went out on the last day we were there, we didn't recieve any type of courtesy call telling us about this, and luckily we all woke up on time. The elevator was very old, and when the power went out, it still functioned, however it had no lights and went extremely slow. We were […] forced to carry our bags down 14 flights of stairs. No compensation, or appolgy was given for this situation. Also the pool was under construction which we were not notified of when booking the hotel.
