The Westin just rubs me the wrong way. Every little things seems like a trap to make you spend more money. The refreshment tray is built with sensors so that even if you pick up something to look at it they will try to charge you the $10 it cost for a granola bar. Renting a movie cost $17. Does anyone actually pay for these things? You also had to pay […] for the wifi. Maybe it's just me, but I feel if you are spending $200/night on a hotel room it should come with some basic amenities. The amenities that were offered were not replaced the next day. We got 3 coffee packs for 2 nights and 2 people? I guess we were expected to drink 3/4 C of coffee each morning. And the mini-fridge was so full of overpriced beverages I couldn't even store my dinner leftovers. It was a money-trap, and really left a bad taste in my mouth. Never again. "Thin walls but overall not too shabby"
The hotel itself is lovely, in a nice location, and the check-in and out was very speedy. We had a deluxe king but somehow it was a lot smaller than what a deluxe should be. The only annoying thing during the stay was we were woken up by drunken guests at 3 AM. The walls are extremely thin, you can hear every door slam on the floor. Enjoyed our stay at the Westin. Bathroom needed a little maintenance (shower curtain rod very loose, shower faucet handles loose) but nothing major. Got a charge for the refreshment tray due to moved items, but removed prior to checkout. Parking rate for valet WAY high for a car sitting there for 2 days. "Westin gets it right over and over again!"
My wife and I went for a pre-valentines day weekend at the Westin on 17th street. First, the location was gorgeous, the staff was incredible, the amenities are top notch, and the accommodations brings comfort and class together in a perfect way. We did not need to drive anywhere so we were able to self park at the Westin, which saved us $26 over two […] nights. The location provides access to restaurants, shopping, museums, shows, events and many of the great things Philly has to offer. Our dining experiences included Alma de Cuba (Dinner), Marathon (Brunch) and Morton's (Dinner). It was a much needed weekend and Westin was the right place to do it. "Great Location, Friendly Staff"
The hotel is in a great location, very close to Rittenhouse Square and the Reading Terminal Market. Also, walking to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell and then through Society Hill to South Street for a cheesesteak was not too bad either, although depending on what street you go down the architecture can be a little monotonous on some of the side […] streets. This was all relayed to us when we first got to the hotel, as neither of us had been to Philly, and the girl at the front desk spent a good 10-15 minutes circling a map and describing the best places to go (along with where not to go), which we would have been clueless without, so that was a very nice introduction to the hotel and its staff. Only slight negative - the hotel has a great policy of renting gym shoes and workout clothes to guests in case you forget to pack them, which was appreciated, but when I tried to get shoes and a shirt for my fiancee they said they would bring them right up and never did. When I called back down 20 minutes later, they explained they didn't have her size, which is fine, but I think if I wouldn't have called they would have never mentioned it and we just would have been sitting there waiting. After they delivered only the shoes and said the shirt was right behind it, the same thing happened. In the end it worked out and they had her size (they also didn't charge us) but we waited close to 45 minutes and would have been happy retrieving them ourselves. "Convenient location & nice rooms"
I enjoyed my stay at the Westin hotel. The room was nice, clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were able to check- in prior to the stated 3pm check-in time, so that was a nice perk. Also, the room had some items we forgot to bring with us, including a cork screw (although a liquor store was a quick walk down the street). Our only real complaint […] is the noisy cleaning staff in the hallway the next morning. They seemed to be camped out in front of our room door for some time chatting.
