The ocean view was so worth it...loved waking up and only needing to lift my head to see the expansive ocean view. Parking was convenient and well priced for our rental car. The food options were limited late night when we arrived and were stuck purchasing a really overpriced "meal" in the trading company store. The security staff were rude and arrogant (scolding guests who parked in the wrong spots rather than helping them or showing them where to park and weren't very helpful in general). The rooms are really small, 3.5 star? More like a cheap motel, especially the bathroom, I have not seen a smaller bathroom, yes even comparing to cheap motels. Only decent part is the bed and downstairs lobby. The pizza restaurant attached is a steal though, the best pizzas I've ever had, and great scene, right on the beach.

I had made reservations months in advance for my wife, daughter and I. When we arrived they had put us in the hotel tower with a king bed. We had requested a cottage. We also added a person to our reservations when we got there ( which was suppose to be $35.00 extra per day, I did not have a problem with that). Long and short, we ended up waiting for […] 2 hours beyond the time they told us it would be ready and somehow with the extra and the "much nicer" room it was an extra $458.00. The room was big, but was older and had a fold out couch and day bed as the extra bed. As I sat in the lobby waiting it seems like a car sales job, trying to get everyone to upgrade. That part of our stay was disappointing. From that point on though the stay in Maui was nice. We found we really had no need for the pools though, as we swam in the beautiful ocean. Nice beach. The hotel is in a great location and has a wonderful beach. The property itself was wonderful and I would stay there again. We stayed in a 2 bedroom garden cottage and I would not stay in one of these units again. We chose this for the size and it was large and allowed our family of 5 to have plenty of room. They were clean but very old, run down, smelled […] funny as well as being very outdated. These units are expensive for what you get. We sprayed some Febreze and enjoyed our stay but if we go back I would book a room in the tower. Everyone at the resort was very friendly and helpful, the restaurant was good as well as the luau. Everything about the hotel was well done. The property was well landscaped and maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. Easy access to a beautiful beach was directly in front of the hotel. The hotel is located near downtown Lahaina but not so close as to be impacted by the typical downtown congestion.

Unfortunately, this was not our best experience in Maui. We had a maintenance issue in our room - when we flushed the toilet something was coming up in the shower. We were not pleased with our outcome in this matter.

Secret is hidden in details. Everything was fine, balcony, sliding wood shades, glasses (not plastics, real glass), coffee machine, clean sheets and comfortable bed, fridge, what else should we expect. Only downside was no free internet and no free parking. It's frustrating to pay 10$ per day for parking for the rental car and internet was 10$ per day. […] Whole island is free of parking fees as of government policy. What if you don't want to pay for parking, there is no alternative parking on the street. I don't like to be forced to do anything against my will without alternative. Breakfast was good but they did not even mention the continental breakfast which was included. They have everything in the facility you need, coffee shop, shopping center, alcohol, jacuzzi, free beach towels, tennis courts, night club for famous Hawaiian dance, etc. For the general, besides the hotel review, be careful for the tourist traps in the whole Hawaii. Everything was priced for tourists, definitely ask for discounts and look for alternative bargains. Since I have been a hotel manager in major part of my business life, you can spend less for more if you be careful. For whale watching, for helicopter tours, dinner cruise, you can pay much less. Stay away from WYNDHAM TIME SHARE trap. They put unnecessary pressure on you and try everything to sell a timeshare. I have stayed here four times now and enjoyed every stay. I like that the location is a little but away from the hustle of Lahaina. My only warning would be that the hotel provides chairs at the pool but no beach service.

The staff were helpful and pleasant. The only negative was a TV problem. It took us several days to realize that the TV was actually broken rather than just crappy reception. Great location, whales breaching right off the beach, whale activity every minute (mid-March). Snorkeling is good north or south, swimming not as good right at the hotel, rough surf much of the time (for moderate or experienced swimmers). Staff was very good, polite and friendly but not over the top, nice services, eager to please. Several tiers of room choices, make sure you are clear on partial view, ocean view, or full ocean view. This was confusing through Expedia and I was promised a full view when I called and confirmed the reservation, but in reality received an ocean view. Still nice, just not what I thought I was paying for. Cottages showing age but great location, good for families or extended stay. Bar was okay, poolside better than restaurant bar (mixes off, sour mai tai twice in a row). Restaurant food is good but not great with the exception of the excellent red pepper soup and housemade hummus--yum!!! Great lunch to eat on the beach. Nice gardens/walking trail, Kona ice cream (great!) and other items in the ice cream shop are good and reasonably priced, though coffee is only marginal. Vibe is casually elegant and very calming. It took a while to check in and we were sent to the bar for complimentary drinks after being told our room wasn't ready for a second time (well after the check-in time). We had a partial view of the ocean and the golf course which was still amazing anyhow. We were very lucky to see whales many times from our room and beach. We definitely recommend hiring […] a car. Past reviewers complained that the walk from the furthest carpark was far - it really wasn't (2-3 minute walk). We wouldn't stay here again because for the price we paid, you would think that snorkelling gear, beach gear would be complimentary as well as toothbrushes and toothpaste. Our toilet had some problems flushing as well. All in all, the location is fantastic and the rooms are clean and spiffy. As a resort, you would assume a few items would be complimentary. We had a fantastic stay at the Royal Lahaina. The property is extremely well located with easy access anywhere in Maui. The highlight of our stay has to be the resort's staff. Each and everyone of the staff members we came in contact with was extremely curtious and efficient. We are already making plans to return to the Royal Lahaina.

We went for our 35th wedding anniversary this year and we had gone 10 years ago for our 25th. We were told when we booked we could get an upgrade because of our anniversary and get ocean front, which they did before on our 25th also, when they found out it was our anniversary. We stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate our 10th anniversary. I'd read the reviews which were mixed, and was a little unsure about what to expect. However, we had a great room on the 9th floor with a balcony and gorgeous ocean view. The room was clean and very nicely done with a tasteful, modern decor and was a nice size for two. The only strange thing […] was that the sink outside the bathroom looked like a kitchen sink, but it was the bathroom sink so our toothbrushes, etc had to be kept on the counter you see when you first walk in. We had a wonderful time at the Royal Lahaina Resort. From the minute we got there, til the time that we left, the service and staff were exceptional. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. We loved our ocean view room; we had an amazing view of the ocean. We were on the 8th floor; and the higher the better. The room was clean, and we loved the wood decor of the rooms and lobby area. The ocean terrace restaurant had the most amazing food, and incredible service. We loved the beach right outside the hotel, it was definitely the best part of the whole strip. Having the expedia agents right there was SO helpful. We got plenty of good advice from Megan and Lae; they were nice and helped us a lot. The resort is in the perfect location. It was a 5-10 minute walk to Whaler's Village, and a 5 minute bus ride to Lahaina. The shuttle was very useful, and bus #25 goes directly to Lahaina from Whaler's and is only $2/person. Our only complaint would be the parking lot. We found the parking spots to be extremely small. Our car got a huge dent in it one night, and we had to pay because of it. This was extremely unfortunate. Cora was a fantastic housekeeper, and Vi at the front desk was very helpful. We will definitely be back to the Royal Lahaina! Mahalo! Uzziniet vairāk

I booked it last minute after realizing i had a gap in the various places we were staying in over the 8 day visit. We stayed in a cottage next to the golf course. Everything seemed old and worn out. There were lights outside our glass sliding door to the patio and the glass front door that stayed on all night. I never found a switch for them. It stayed […] way too bright all night. The AC is super loud. Bring your earplugs. In the early morning hours while still sleeping we heard people talking outside constantly because of a path that was next to our cottage. The pool was decent enough, but they don't put out enough chairs for people, so everyone was hunting for one. They had the chairs with umbrellas that you could pay and reserve. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The only complaint was the building air pressure issues. The winds would rattle the balcony doors if they were closed, pushing in the glass panes. If the doors were open, you would hear a whine from the pressure difference between the room and the hallway.

I called to verify I had an ocean view room and they said yes. When we arrived it was an ocean view but you had to look across a golf course and another hotel to see it. Other than that had a good experience. The Luahu was great along with great snorkeling infront of our hotel.

Fourth time to the Royal Lahaina and loved it! Great place that makes you feel like your in Hawaii and not at a chain hotel. The staff are great and will do anything to help to make your stay more pleasing. The location of the hotel is great. We saw whales everytime we looked out our window.
