Honolulu, Hawaii’s diverse and dynamic capital, is a city of contrasts. Modern towers loom over the grounds of Iolani Palace, the only official royal residence on U.S. soil. Hipster bars coexist with beach luaus. Street vendors hawk orchid leis, while clerks at the ritzy Ala Moana Center peddle blue-label goods. Nearby, Chinatown offers a slice of Asia with its temples, shops, and restaurants.

Service and location is excellent. Hotel in need if renovations. furnishing.GA need to be updated to make stay more comfortable. Other than that, customer service is awesome! Keep up that Aloha spirit.

"Pagoda Hotel Honolulu"
The pictures on Hotels.ca of the Pagoda is NOT even close to what we stayed in. Old, in need of major repair and cleaning is understatment. We checked into one building and had to drag out suitcases down the street and across to another building to our room. No street lighting, almost no building lighting, uneven broken sidewalk, no luggage carrier. […] Did not feel safe. Uzziniet vairāk
"Convenient to shops"
Pagoda Hotel is adequate depending on your needs. We were in town on business so spent most of our day out and about. Having shops and eatery's within walking distance worked well for us because upon returning to the hotel we just parked our car and walked to Walmart, Payless shoe store and Ala Moana shopping center food court. Along the way to the […] shopping center there are numerous resturants as well. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was a bit of noise from the street that we could hear but for the price of the hotel the noise was a minor inconvienence. There were no black out curtains so when the sun came up it light up the room. We chose the upper level so we could have some sort of view. The people in the reception area were great. "Pagoda Hotel in Honolulu"
The main Hotel Pagoda is fine; but the Terrace rooms across the street, with kitchenettes, are NOT satisfactory. Fortunately, there was a room with 2 beds in the main hotel - w/o kitchenette - which was much better, and the hotel service desk changed us the first night, for the 5 days stay. The Pagoda restaurant is good for breakfast - buffet dinner […] is rather pricy. Asahi Grill across the street is good for "local" foods - famous for oxtail soup. Ross's and Walmart are close by and AM Center is walking distance; but a little far to walk to AM beach . Uzziniet vairāk
"Pagoda hotel"
Booked this hotel at the last minute and cheap rates were a factor in my decision. Staff did their best with what they had and were friendly. The room was pretty rough and outdated but we didn't spend much time at the place other to sleep. Saw a few roaches, that freaked the family out. Close to Walmart, SAMs club, ala moana mall and the beach. If you […] are looking for a fancy hotel this isn't it, you will get what you pay for. I wouldn't stay at the pagoda hotel again with the family but would if I was by myself. Overal, it was okay. Uzziniet vairāk
"Not a Hotel for the Business Traveller"
Internet Connection was extra charge each day and was very hard to setup. Had to have a different user id and password for each day. Last day killed a roach the day after the exterminator had sprayed.
"Nice staff but hotel is old and dirty"
I know it's a cheaper hotel but I expect a cleaner room and better maintained facilities. A fresh coat of paint can do wonders guys...
"Pagoda Hotel, Rycroft St, Honolulu Hawaii"
If you enjoy staying in a hotel which caters to all walks of unsavoury characters, is in an area where Police sirens impede on your comfort 24/7 and is a hop, skip and a jump to the local McDonalds who have armed security guards at their entrance...then this is the place for you.
"The worst place I have ever witnessed!!!"
The parking has pot holes; the carpet was so filthy like I was stepping on glue; the bathroom was moldy; the beds seemed like it was never replaced since they opened for business. The hotel as well as the parking lot need major renovation.I dis not feel secure staying there at all.
The hotel is old and the room smelled musty or like wet animals had been there. It was convenient for what we needed for one night. Very small pool. The computer you had to pay for to get boarding passes.Cost me $8.00 and still could not get all three to print. Front desk was very helpful and accomodating.

Our stay was very pleasant
"Pagoda Hotel, Honolulu - not recommended"
This hotel has a great central location and good size rooms. HOWEVER, it is filthy and my room reeked of old urine. The hotel policy is to change the sheets every three days. Mine were not changed for over five days until I ran into housekeeping and requested it. The carpets and decor in my room and public areas were dirty and outdated. When I told […] my local friend where I was staying, everyone cringed. Apparently, this hotel has a reputation amongst locals. Neighboring guests were inconsiderate and loud. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone unless they are REALLY desperate. Uzziniet vairāk
"It's ok, but...."
If you're expecting a opulent hotel, this isn't it. But if you're a family on a budget and want something pretty close to the ocean, this will work fine. The furnishings are basic and fairly old but the room was clean and rather spartanly furnished. The staff was friendly and helpful and couldn't have been nicer. The in hotel restaurant was good to […] o. Uzziniet vairāk

Old, tired and shabby. Broken elevators. New managment has removed microwaves from the rooms and is now charging for coffee. Have stayed frequently over the past twelve years but will not be back.

"The Pagoda in Honolulu"
Most of the reviews I read were pretty accurate but we had to have a place to stay since my husband had to teach a class there with 2 wks notice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the size of the room was nice, but the hotel is definately run down. When we pulled up I noticed the Pagoda Terrace and told my husband that building looked trashed, […] so when we checked in across the street and found out that was the building our room was in, I was not impressed. I was very depressed the first couple of days there (we stayed for almost 2 wks) and took the time to find something better versus going out and enjoying the island. Due to Pro Bowl week, we were not able to find anything else, within a reasonable price, until the last couple days of our stay. The beds were extremely hard to the point I had bruises on my hips, even after adding extra blankets under me. The kitchen stove was trashed and all kitchen dishes, silverware, pots, pans and glasses were either dirty or trashed. In order to cook in our room, we would have had to buy new cookware and clean the stove. The shower didn't drain well and we would have water up to our ankles by the time our shower was done. The air conditioner is in the bedroom and never cooled down the main area at all. There was a ceiling fan in the main area/living room, but if it was on higher than the low setting, it would rattle and roll and sounded like it could fall down. This hotel needs MAJOR renovations!! "Bedbugs, a complete dump - AVOID"
In case the title didn't reveal my experience... Both the cleanliness and the service I encountered at the Pagoda were below what is acceptable for any hotel, regardless of the price. I've stayed cheap and high-end on various trips, but never stayed at a place this poorly run. Just stay somewhere else, please, please, please, stay somewhere else.

but good overall.
"noisy"
The amout of noise in the room in the middle of the night was terrible. The windows were these slats that did not fully close, so noise just came int.

"Pagoda Hotel"
We arrived late in the evening and the hotel gave us a room that was in very bad shape. The room smelled and had stains on the carpet, dust on the ceiling, and a sliding bathroom door that did not work properly. Our kids felt unsafe because the room was in such bad shape. The hotel staff were helpful in getting us a nicer room the next day, but our […] initial experience ruined the rest of our stay. The hotel gave us a 50% credit on our 1st night (after asking), but I think they should of given us a 100% credit on the 1st night. The location was near waikii beach, but too far to just walk to. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone becuase it made our 1st night in Hawaii a negative experience. Uzziniet vairāk
"Didn't match the photos"
I stayed in a room with a kitchenette. The ceiling was patched and tattered, the bathroom floor was chipped and coming up, the room had a bad odor, the parking lot was outside my window and was always noisy even til 4am, the carpet was dirty. My room was nothing like the website photos.
"Beach & View? Not going to find it here."
People go to Hawaii for two main reasons. To be on the beach and enjoy the great views. You won't get either of those here. Situated far from the beach and nighthlife of Waikiki you'll have to either drive or take taxis every time you want to go there. The hotel (motel, really) is nothing like the hi-rise you see in the photos. Rather, it seems to […] be a converted apartment building that is situated down a dirty side-street that looks like the home to the characters that Dog the Bounty Hunter tracks down. Having booked a room for 3 people and requesting two beds I was instead "treated" to a tiny 1-bed room. After considerable haggling with the front desk clerk who said "You booked through a website, not us, so I can't change anything" I managed to get another room with two beds. Both of which had burns in the comforters and blankets. Lacking a balcony or fan or windows that opened, we had to crank the swamp cooler in-window air conditioner all the way up to keep the room at a moderate temperature. Luckily the room was on one of the higher floors so we were able to see a sliver of ocean between the many hi-rises in front of us. In other words, the views are non-existant unless you're at the very top of the hotel, facing West. One other thing to be aware of is that if you prefer to lay by a pool, which you may want to do since the beach is far, there isn't much room and the pool is tiny. They also charge $10 a night for parking, but won't tell you that until it is time to check out. And last but not least, the elevators were broken nearly half the time we were there. In short, I wouldn't book a room here again. Uzziniet vairāk
"Terrible"
The hallway had no carpet. The cleaning lady put her drink in our reg. The shower was cold and hot. You could hear everything on the street. TV remote was only partially working.
"Run down but convenient location"
The Pagoda hotel is an old, overpriced, run-down hotel, but you can't beat the convenience of its location. Walking distance to Wal-mart, Ala Moana Shopping Center, and even the Convention Center (long walk tho), convenient to downtown and everywhere, no Waikiki traffic. Street parking available if you don't want to pay for hotel parking. I think the […] hotel costs too much what you get, but at least it's clean, and close by. Uzziniet vairāk
"Horrible hotel"
There were cigarette burns in the comforters, lizards and roaches in the kitchen, no windows (only slotted glass so you could hear everything outside), and holes in the carpet. DO NOT STAY HERE!
"Good Price - Bad Quality"
It was difficult to find a hotel that would accommodate a party of 2 adults and 3 children so I was pleased to find the Pagoda Hotel. They had a two bedroom with kitchenette. When I checked in, they tried to put me in a one bedroom, until I showed them my confirmation where it was printed out that I had paid for a two bedroom. The rooms was tidy, not […] especially clean as we found beer caps and cigarette butts on the floor. We were conveniently located in neighborhood so we could grocery shop and eat out with locals which we liked alot. We were on the ground floor and the room was extremely noisy at night and the curtains did not block out the light from the street. The price was in our budget, but cannot say I would recommend to anyone who had other options - of which there are many. Uzziniet vairāk
"Close to the major shopping, beach, other activiti"
This was my second time staying at the pagada. It is so much bigger than it was at the time I stayed before in 1974. I loved the centrality of it's location and amenities. The suite was large and very comfortable.. I have already recommended it to my other friends and plan to request it on my next trip to Hawaii.
"Dated Hotel"
The Pagoda's biggest issue is it's a 50's hotel operating in the 21st Century, the beds need to go, the window AC need to be updated to a quieter model etc. The one and only plus is it's location, period. Another point that is not up to date, you have to spend $5.00 to print boarding passes. This was a first and quite surprising given the need of customers […] today. May seem trivial but it's an inconvenience that speaks to the attitude change needed to bring this property up to date. Uzziniet vairāk

We were so disappointed in the room we had that we came home a day early. The bed was miserable, hard and uncomfortable. "meh"
We stayed in the 'terrace' across the street from the main hotel. It had a run down projects kind of feel. The hallways were this jacked up brown gross looking stretches of despair. The room was out of the 70s and they even went cheap when they bought it back then. They did give us a later check out as requested, but still woke us up saying we were […] supposed to check out earlier. We told them they extended it and they radio ahead to the desk to confirm, like we were criminals or something. Location sucks, not much going on and lots of strips clubs. "Pagoda Hotel"
We found this place on the same day we needed it and the price was good. Location is about a 5-10 minute drive to the beach at Waikiki. Front desk were very helpful. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment, the room was facing the street so it was quite noisy from traffic and construction. The apartments are spread out over about 4 buildings and everything […] was as expected for this calibre of hotel. Not bad at all if you have a car. Uzziniet vairāk
"Clean, safe and good value"
I highly recommend Pagoda Hotel, a good value hotel in a convenient location. It is one of the best deals in Honolulu!
"Air conditioner noise"
The only thing I want to complain is the air conditioner noise. It is just too loud, especially at night.
Don't go there.
