Ongoing renovation. Not all facilities was available e.g. swimmingpool. One day the room was not cleaned. Minor selection at the breakfast. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

I have stayed at this hotel three different times in the last three years and I will be back. The staff is very helpful and the location is ideal if you want to be close to everthing but not in the middle.

Easy downhill walk into the city centre, nice safe neighbourhood. The room was large with a fantastic view over the hills that we could watch the sun set behind. Comfortable bed. Clean. Renovations meant the self serve laundry was out of service. Room service didnt happen everyday and we had to ring down for towels more than once. An ideal hotel for a short stay in Brisbane. It is well located and the staff are great. The only issue I had when I last stayed was that the renovation efforts were a bit annoying. However, the fact that they are renovating the hotel is a good thing.

Stayed here for work. Great value for money, much cheaper than anything I have previously stayed in, in Brisbane CBD. I was able to walk to everything. Room was average size, clean, big balcony & quiet at night. They were doing external renovation work. However this was only during the day, and I was not there at the time.

Great friendly staff, but room was not what was booked - I booked a queen and single with pillow top mattresses. However, they gave me a standard queen and the single was a pull out sofa bed - that had not been made up upon our arrival! The hotel was going through renovations so it looked unmaintained. We swam in a pool littered with cigarette buts and the outdoor area was not completed. I believe it has been like this for a while. The hotel suited our needs perfectly. It was clean and comfortable and very conveniently located to the city and public transport.

City Center Hotel. From the minute of our arrival the welcome was most friendly and professional, lovely newly appointed Decor in reception, well uniformed staff and very helpful and friendly, a good feel. Very convenience to travel to places of interest. Either by foot, buses or trains. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

The service was so poor that we had to find ourselves hotel troley and push our luggage to our apartment. The corridor leading to our unit was so dark as the hotel switched off the lights. The apartment looked tired and have seen better days. Nice location, good service, nice rooms, huge tv, good food. It was pretty much all good.

This hotel was OK for the price we paid. They're going through rennovations at the moment so KEY services were unavailable i.e swimming pool and washing/drying machines. They didn't warn us until we were going to use these which was a shame. Apart from that, the staff were friendly and helpful.

The last reviews were not that positive, so we had a very bad feeling when checking in. We already recognised when we entered the reception area that renovation works take place. BUT... We received a new renovated room, which was really okay. We did not hear any of the construction works. The only negative points were: - no hot water (only a little […] warm) - the TV was not working correctly - parking was a bit difficult due to the fact that you always needed someone to get out of the car park. Summarised, the hotel is currently under renovation and I can imagine that the quality will increase (I think they go a new owner) more. Reconstruction ongoing, breakfast very bad but five minutes walk and you are in the middle of Brisbane center.

The location is great, and the rooms have real potential. Some staff very helpful and friendly. However, our room was not made up correctly on arrival, the air conditioning dripped water, there were things missing from room, cooking items, etc. and the front desk staff seemed indifferent to requests. The location was awsome, the room was a good size although quite dated, they are doing renovations down stair but looks like mostly superficial stuff. The staff were lovely, excellently efficient & friendly so that was a big plus. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone I know though, not for the price.

Reception staff really helpful at check in allowing us to check in at 8am. Rooms are very basic and there is modernisation/ maintenance work being undertaking so parts of the hotel aren't accessible and are dirty. Good location and not bad for price

What a shame...this Hotel is a shocker....Poorly run and also Run-Down....Do Not Consider this place for any type of visit...plenty of other better choices..nearby...

My family and I have stayed here on a few occasions and always have a nice time. The Hotel and its staff are very well presented and it is very easy to get to where you are going in the city. At the moment they are doing reno's so it will only improve this great Hotel. thank you Sandra

The hotel location was convenient and an easy walk to Queen Street Mall, but the price was on the high side for what you got. While clean and tidy, the hot water was unreliable - a big no-no for me!

Although I travel quite a bit, it's been a while since I'd been to such an overpriced, dirty and antiquated hotel. The entrance hallway as well as my floor smelled of fried food, the bed were covered by white thin sheets that barely cover you from the disgusting blanket. Adequate hotel which was undergoing some renovations, not mentioned when I booked. That meant the laundry room (my must-have feature for this particular stay) was not available but to compensate my laundry was washed free!

booked through hotel booking for room and parking,arrived to find no parking ,had to park in rear driveway,went to check in and no room booked,told we had to pay again,eventually sorted and got to room,went to bar to take drinks to room and given black garbage bag to carry same,went to breakfast and told sarcastickly that we did not book.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was full of roaches. When I complained to the front desk, we were upgraded to another room. Still had roaches but on a smaller scale. We complained again. All we received was a free breakfast. We asked to speak to the manager, never showed his/her face. Too bad! Great location but poor poor service […] and roach infested!!!!! It is a good hotel and close to central railway station and Brisbane down town. But the hotel does not supply quite only blanket, when I asked for quite and the answer is no, I have to put 2 beds' blankets on my body because it is winter now. Rest are fine.

I had never been to Brisbane before and needed to book a hotel at the last minute that was close to everything including the bus and train stations. This hotel is under some construction but our room was very clean and spacious if not a bit shabby. If you are a smoker make sure you get a room with a balcony as you must go to pool on 3rd floor or ground […] level to smoke. This hotel was in a great area just down the street from Roma Street Gardens and an easy walk to all shopping including the Queen Street Mall. One thing I would stress to anyone who stays here is confirm and double confirm anything that you request at the front desk and get it in writing if you can. There is someone different there every day (I was there for 4 nights). When I first arrived I asked if I could stay a 5th night as my flight had been changed. The man at the desk said "No Problem" well apparently there was a problem because when I double checked on my last night they said they had no rooms and that they had been booked up for weeks! One of two lifts not working for entire stay (5 nights) charged for parking when i was not parking in hotel room keys not working on 2 occasions

I chose the place as it was cheap and close to the railway station. The hotel is under renovation (Feb 2011) so there are disruptions - for example the internet was off the night I was there. The reception area is all under work at the moment. The room was clean and nice enough.

The hotel was conviently located. Being a last minute booking due to travelling the hotel was perfect

I was dissapointed with the Astor Hotel, Best Western, Brisbane. The room was smaller than we expected, there were no handtowels or face washers, TV reception was poor and the staff were not helpful. Room servicing (cleaning ) doesnt begin untill 2.30 pm so dont go out for the day and expect a rest before you go out at night., wont stay there again

Best Western should be ashamed to have their name associated with this hotel! The bathroom was dirty and moldy. Half the hotel is under construction...hopefully they are upgrading for future guests. The staff did not seem knowledgeable of surroundings. They couldn't direct me to restaurants or stores. One of the main reasons I chose this hotel is the […] fact that it claimed there was laundry facilities. There are self service washers and dryers, however the floor was under construction and they were out of order. The staff was unable to advise me of the location of a different facility, and seemed annoyed when I asked. I was eventually directed to a facility that did not exist!! Rooms were nice but didn't get cleaned at all during our 3 day stay, we had to ring each day for fresh towels (which wouldn't dry because of rain), the laundry that was available to guests in guest information booklet was 'under construction' so had wet clothes in room during stay and car parking was a nightmare, very difficult to access car once put […] into park for the day...wouldn't stay there again. The proximity to central station was one of the appeals of this hotel. WIthin walking distance of the CBD, I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to find and to get to the places that I was going to. I was staying there because I had to attend a one day conference at the Sebel (about 5 minutes walk away). Because the catering was taken care of […] for me, I didn't have to worry about finding food. If there was one thing that surprised me. Given the fact that the apartments cater for self-catering guests, there were no obvious places to go to to purchase grocery items. Sure, there were 2x Seven-Eleven stores within walking distance, but nothing else was obvious. The staff at the hotel were average at best, but were not rude or arrogant. It suited me that I didn't have to spend too much time in reception checking in. On the few occassions that we spoke, they helped me as best they could and that was good enough for me. The room I stayed in was a twin share. The two single beds were adequate and they had a nice comfortable sofa to relax on. The main downside was that the airconditioning didn't seem to be working, so no matter what temperature I turned the remote to, the room stayed hot. I'd go there again if I needed to stay close to the CBD. However, it was the price that attracted me in the forst place and I guess that you get what you pay for! Uzziniet vairāk

My room was among those renovated, and properly done. From the Central Business District, the hotel is a short walk, up 85 stairs (by my count) through an attractive sculpture park. If you can't stand Bushnell instant coffee in room, you also won't enjoy it served at breakfast downstairs--it's the only choice on an otherwise perfectly OK breakfast buffet. […] Fortunately, other nearby coffee bars offer the real caffeine shot to the system. In short, the hotel is attractively furnished, well situated to downtown Brisbane and a good price value.
