Jekyll Island Club Hotel — Jekyll Island

Our stay at the Jekyll Island Club was wonderful. The history and amenities offered on site is what I as a vacationer seek. The bike trails on the island are super friendly; the food is great at the club; we had an upgrade to the junior presidential suite, and that was just frosting on the cake.

Hotel needs more ladies' shopping opportunities and broader selection of men clothing and gifts.

Aware that a 200 year old building will have more than normal wear; recommend you invest in more modern matresses and pillows.

Jeklly Ialand is relaxing and calming place. The hotel staff was wonderful as well as the atmosphere.

We love this hotel. we love Jekyll Island. We love the dining in the hotel and in the Crane Cottage. we wish they would allow pets in one of the other buildings.

It was quiet and as comfortable you would expect this club to be. After all it is well "worn-in" after about a hundred years of practice. Really enjoyed it and will go back for a longer stay next time perhaps. Not a place for people who cannot entertain themselves though. 10-4-11, NICE ROOM, GOOD FOOD IN THE MAIN DINING ROOM, LOBBY BAR WAS SMALL BUT STOCKED WELL-GOOD CHOICE OF PORT AFTER DINNER. RECOMMENDED HOTEL TO OTHERS AND RECEIVED GOOD FEED BACK. WELL WORTH THE COST TO VALUE RATIO.

An absolute gem! Utterly charming! A place you won't forget, on a stunning and unspoilt Island. This place is a must stay if in the area.

Rooms are quaint, large and well maintained. Food in the Grand Dining Room and small deli a bit pricey but creative, too bountiful for scale watchers, prepared with pride and absolutely delicious. The breakfast buffet fuels you for the day and offers individually prepared mainstays if one wishes. Dining staff is excellent and very courteous. One wishes that their profits were as great as the magnates who formed the original club so that management could close one room/suite at a time and strip all the woodwork down to the original and restore it since walls, ceilings, floors and furnishings are all in excellent condition. We want to return before the holidays to see the decorations inside and out that create an even more charming atmosphere. Perhaps stock was down in the gift shop but most all menswear available was in large with much of it extra large. They might offer a poplin windbreaker with the club hotel logo as well as more logo polo shirts long and short sleeve in small and medium sizes at a lightly lower price point. Everything considered, we had a wonderful time, but don't bother with a drive into Brunswick. From what we saw it was quite depressed looking. Also if you want to drive over to St. Simons, be aware that it's far more crowded and offers none of the Jekyll Island Club grounds atmosphere. Growth has been tremendous, so one needs to know where they are going, as traffic, even in this off season, is heavy and even weekday drivers seem to be in a rush. Just prepare to spend a few days at and around the hotel and the shops along with all of the beautifully maintained "cottages" and grounds. My husband & I attended a 50th Birthday Event and had a great time. The grounds are lovely and the staff were great. We had a clubhouse room with a queen bed and while it wasn't a large room it was attractive,comfortable and clean. The shopping in nearby areas was great! This was a very nice surprise in all ways. If you're going to Jekyl Island this is the only chioce. Wasn't that expensive either. And the surroundings is just wonderful! Look for the 4-5 deers strolling around on the island!

loved the grounds--absolutely beautiful! room was small and average. realize the hotel is on the river and not beach side of the island, but the hotel and grounds make it worth it.

We usually stay oceanside when visiting Jekyll Island but decided to stay at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel for our 20th wedding anniversary. Our two-night stay far exceeded my expectations and customer service was outstanding-- from the front desk staff to the restaurant staff to the bartenders. Was initially concerned that the beach was on the other side of the island, but the beach pavilion was excellent (food, beverages, towels, chairs/umbrellas available). Very overpriced for the quality of the services and the condition of the hotel. This hotel is considered as a national landmark, it is very unique and located in a wonderful area. But it is very run down, it seems only very basic maintenance is done on daily basis. Quaint & Pricey If you’re expecting chic and modern, this hotel is not the place for you, particularly since you’re paying quite a bit for ‘supposedly’ first-class accommodations. Fabulous setting, friendly staff. We had a very tasty dinner at the Grand Dining Room, finnishing with the best tasting pecan pie. The staff was very attentive. Would love to go back.

What a wonderful "get a way" A definite repeat. Lovely setting and lots to do and see ... Much of it on foot. Loved the history of the club

This hotel is outstanding and very romantic. The food was delicious and the prices were quite reasonable. We toured the island by car, walked the beautiful beaches and played tennis at the public courts which are a 3 minute drive from the club. The Club is reminiscent of the wealthy, turn of the century way of life with drinks on it's wrap around porches, […] croquet on the front lawn and just relaxing with a good book. Love it. The hotel is lovely. This is an older hotel but certainly not tired. It looks as if it had been recently renovated. The grand dining room had been redone in the last year. The food was delicious and the wait staff was friendly and ccommodating. The last Sunday of the month they have a prefixed menu and dancing with a live band. Our one night stay was exactly as we expected, very comfortable. The hotel is beautifully restored. We enjoyed our stay and want to go back for the dinner and dance held the last Sunday night of most months. We wish we had know about it earlier, but there will be another time.

The hotel is just lovely. Enjoyed the hotel tour given to guests at the hotel. We had all our meals at the hotel and the food was superb and the service in the two restaurants excelled. We will definitely go back for another stay.

We booked this hotel as a spur-of-the moment stop before flying out of Jacksonville. It's a wonderful classic old hotel, with lovely spaces both inside and out, in the middle of a beautifully maintained village museum of the "cottages" of the old wealthy industrialists. We rented bicycles from the hotel, toured the island, and visited the cottage that […] houses an art gallery. Our room in the club section was very comfortable. Downstairs by the bar there was music (piano) and comfortable chairs by a fire. It was a wonderful interlude, and we'd love to go back again. Men do need a jacket to have dinner at the hotel (and we hadn't brought that sort of dress), but there are other good options nearby, including a "rah bar" and restaurant on the pier. Nice resort. Big with families. Had a good time. Only drawback: the coffee in the Grand Dining Room was the weakest I've ever tasted. Also be warned: cellphone reception generally not available.

great Ambiance, the nature and wildlife abound and deep South hospitality

Paid a lot of money for a very out-dated hotel. The grounds were spectacular but I'm sorry to say the rooms were very old - the air conditioning barely worked. I almost booked the Hampton Inn which has just been built for half the price and I'm so sorry I didn't go with that because I was extremely disappointed staying at the Jekyll Club Hotel. We had a wonderful time at the club. We did a sunset horseback ride and a bike ride around the island. It was very beautiful and an extremely relaxing expirience. There is so much to do at the club alone, and my wife and I look forward to coming back!

Old-world southern charm was everywhere. We were able to enjoy long walks under the beautiful old oak trees and played croquet on the green in front of the hotel. The walk down the stairs from the 3rd floor was amazing: hardwood floors and hand-carved railing that led to the bar and meeting rooms. We can't wait to go back!

What a beautiful hotel. We really enjoyed our 2 nights here and exploring the island by bike. The grounds and historic district were a great place for walks, runs, and biking. Great trails for running and biking right from the hotel, too. We especially enjoyed eating breakfast and after dinner sweets from the Cafe and sitting on the porches of the hotel. […] Dinners at the Crane and Latitude 31 were wonderful. Can't wait to go back. The hotel staff made it their job for us to have a special weekend. The grounds were lovely, our room immaculate, and the restaurants had a nice ambiance. Latitude 31 was completely slammed on Saturday night, so I would suggest dining early if that is your destination. The island beach was quiet and uncrowded.
