The hotel is 7 minutes away from PDX. The hotel staff was very friendly when I checked in late at night. I was offered to pick which floor I wanted to stay, I picked ground level with a room closest from the side entrance for the ease to transport all our luggage into the room. "Just Barely met our needs"
My husband and I have stayed twice at the Phoenix Inn because it is close to our son's home. We have decided to stay elsewhere on the next visit. Our concerns: Very poor water pressure in the shower; the continental breakfast was inconsistent. Choices were limited in yogurt and fresh fruit. Eggs: One glance into the prep area- a giant bag of frozen […] omelets was out on the counter and seeing that did not make us want to have any more; Our six year old grandson came to our room and said: 'Grandma, I hate to tell you this but your room looks really old!" Wondered if the fact that we had a discounted rate factored into the location of the room-- next to the elevator. One sink didn't work, the heat/cool fan was hinky, the phone had to be adjusted so it would work... just a bunch of little things. "Pool and spa/Breakfast"
When I book a hotel, I look for pool and spa, gym, and free breakfast. My kids and I look forward to the pool and spa at the end of the long day. The pool heater was broken making it freezing cold, and the spa was shut down due to a broken filter. I would not have booked the hotel if I had known this. No one working there seemed to care or even offer […] an apology. On a positive note, the breakfast was really good with a lot of choices. "Not bad at all - great service"
Overall, my stay was good. When we arrived at about 11pm, we were greeted almost immediately. The receptionist was friendly and always had a smile on her face. The process was quick and we were on our way to our room. The room was large, well laid out and the colour scheme was nice. The only complaint I had was that the room smelled old and stale. I […] had turn on the air conditioner to get the smell out. Other than that, the room was very comfortable. Breakfast next morning was yummy. There was lots to choose from and the dining area was large so there was no problems finding a seat. "Great place to stay with family"
Economical, clean, and friendly. Staff was very friendly, hotel was clean and comfy, and the included breakfast was satisfying. Everything was well marked and laid out. Hotel is close to quite a few eateries and coffee shops and although close to the main road, it was quiet for our stay. Beds were comfy-not too firm and not too soft. "nice hotel for the price"
Would have been nearly perfect except our room was by the outside door and it slammed all night long but we were only there for 2 nights so it was not unbearable. "great location for what I needed"
We went for a family emergency, hotel was easy to find, with the exception that half of the sign was not lit.... My husband and sons had a great time in the pool while I did what I needed to do. only about 5 minutes from the hospital, really close to freeway...if you are going to order in food, get the address from the front desk!
