Room tended to be very noisy. Location was good for easy access to universities and other amenities. pricey for the quality of the accomodations

We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to Univ. of Pitt and Carnegie Mellon. We have stayed here twice. The rooms are a little small but neat and clean and very comfy beds.

Positives: food excellent, beds excellent, overall quality excellent as are most Hiltons. However, should have put safes in each room. No night lights, had to request. Very co-operative hotel staff. We had to check out a day early and the hotel agreed to waive all penalties and hotels.com credited my card the full amount of the last night's charges.

The service, staff and facilities were great, except the bed. The beds are basically adjustable air mattresses with a hard foam pad on top. No matter how soft the bed is adjusted to be, it is still like sleeping on a shipping pallet. I did not get any sleep for the two nights I was there and will no longer be staying at any Hilton Garden Inn.

I recently stayed at this hotel with my family to take a tour of the University of Pittsburgh. I had never been to the city and was greatly surprised how much I enjoyed the city and the hotel. The hotel is situated within walking distance and the hotel staff was more than happy to suggest restaurants and how to move around the city itself. Nicely updated, clean, spacious rooms. Must have just updated hotel rooms which was nice, although still had a few kinks to work out (none of which was a big deal). Good location for both U. of Pitts. and Carnegie Mellon. Convenient in-hotel parking (valet only) and easy access to highways. Room was quiet and had everything I needed. Bed was comfortable. Only […] downside was service in restaurant wasn't great. Room service dinner (salad) was very good and served promptly. Breakfast in dining room was just fair (omelet was ok, but not great. Everything was perfect, the room was spotless, smelled clean and fresh, location was great, close to college and hospitals. We only stayed one night but we will be back.

The Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh University Place is very convenient to Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh- less than a mile away from each. It is also very easy to walk to many restaurants and shops. The hotel has a free shuttle to many Pittsburgh attractions and the hotel was very clean and well maintained.

This is a nicely renovated hotel, things seemed clean and new. Bed was comfy, bathroom clean. We had some trouble with a computer/internet connection, the staff promptly fixed the problem. We were in town for some medical visits at UPMC, and it was great to walk around campus and Oakland before our easy-to-get-to appointment. When I made the reservation I called to reserve, not online because I wanted to speak with someone. I was told the room available was an upgraded room, king bed with a sleeper sofa with a special rate, but paid ib full and no cancellation. I gave the rep my Hhonors number for my two night stay, which was now prepaid When arrived for check in the hotel […] has vslet parking only the driveway is very steep and 3 other cars were infront of me with a line behind blocking traffic on the main street At check in about 4:10 ona Friday with two attendants at check in, I was about the fourth in line. When I checked in I confirmed my room selection and was told I would be in a king evolution room without a sleeper. I said that thus is not the room I paid for and was told at that time no other rooms were available. I asked her to confirm my confirmation number and she told me that the numbers were confidential. I then asked what the number was for if it doesn't confirm my reservation and was told there was nothing she could do because I booked through a third party. No Hhonors number was recorded as well. The room was nice, but had an unusual smell like dry dog food. A glass left had a chip, the bed side lamp did not work and I heard a cell phone ring that was the room on the otherwise of the wall. Shuttle ran on the hour and the line to get the car I was 4th in line at 5:45 so had to walk to my event. I stayed at the Hilton Garden in on Thursday evening for a meeting I had the next day. Since I had to bring a roller bag, I was not looking forward to lugging it around with me to my meeting. The staff at the desk let me keep the bag in coat check, even after I had checked out. This high level of customer service was present throughout my stay. The […] staff were friendly and accomodating. The hotel itself is quite nice. The bed is large and comfortable with numerous pillows. In addition, there is ample space to work and stretch out. Rooms have refrigerators, irons, free wi-fi, and pretty much any other amenity you would need to have a comfortable, stress-free stay. The hotel was clean, reasonably convenient and very accommodating. We called for a room very late at night after needing to check out of a different hotel within minutes of checking in because of unsatisfactory conditions. The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, even though it was a bit a a squeeze (one daughter […] slept on a chair), but it was a VERY last minute check-in. We did have trouble with the parking garage due to a rooftop carrier on my vehicle. The valet damaged the carrier in trying to move the vab back out of the entrance way to the garage, but again, the staff explained what happened, apologized profusely, and assured me that the hotel's insurance company would be in touch to make amends. The lobby is clean, well-lit and well-staffed, even at a late hour. The room was very clean. The breakfast buffet was well-stocked with fresh, hot food. If I had any complaint, it's that the bar didn't have any late night food -- but the staff did offer to provide us with menus of local places that deliver. Additionally, the hotel is located right on a busy city street, and there are a lot of one ways, so traffic can be an issue, but not a major one. Overall, a good experience. Uzziniet vairāk

This hotel was in a great location - right across from the UPMC campus, which was where I needed to go for work. The renovations are very nice, and the room was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only issue that I had was that when I went to shower at ~10:30am, the water on my floor had been shut off to fix a problem, but we had […] not been notified. The hotel did provide me with a key to a room on another floor, but waiting about 15 minutes and trying again did the trick. This hotel was formerly the Wyndham. It was recently renovated and is very modern. The free van shuttle to Carnegie-Melon and Pitt U is very convenient. It is also not far from downtown.

Newly renovated with comfortable, modern rooms. However, there was no hot water in the shower the morning I was checking out.

The hotel has good location, close to Pitt medical center, bus line, several coffee shops and fast food restaurants. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only complaint is that they did not change my reservation date (but I'm not sure whether this is the fault of HOTELS.com or Hilton). The room is very clean and with tasteful decoration. Bathroom is clean […] and large (minor complaint sink clogged and bathroom tissue in an awkward place). Be ware of the valet parking fee $18.00/day, and they don't have self parking available. This hotel is in a great location. Unfortunately, there are too many glitches that this hotel needs to work out. When I was there, maintenace people and contractors were all over the place. Cable and TV not working. Phone not working. Hot water not working (a big problem when you're in Pittsburgh in the Winter!!!)

It was my brothers 30th birthday.. The staff went the extra mile to make it a memorable experience for us.

The hotel was great. We were impressed with the renovations that had been done to the place. We enjoyed the adjustable firmness on the beds. I would recommend this to anyone who has a trip planned for the Oakland area
