The interior of this hotel is many years past its best. Either downgrade it to a hostel at 25 euro/night or gut and refurbish (total!). Faded carpets, old beds, noisy, shabby.... We had a great time with our stay. The staff was extremely helpful with bus routes and how to get around town. We enjoyed having breakfast in the morning at the hotel and planning our day. The only thing was the airport transportation buses drop off (and pick up) close to the entrance of Trinity College, and it is a good 6 or 7 blocks (with luggage […] and kids, it could be rough). I stayed here with my friend . Check in was at 3pm , we arrived at 11am and were able to check in to our room straight away . We had a double bed each ! "Disapppointing to say the least."
The hotel itself is in okay shape,and the staff is medicore - this isn't a hotel that is going to impress you by thier amenties or a service staff that is above and beyond the others. If you're looking for a hotel that is actually IN the city centre this is NOT it! However, if you're looking for a hotel that is on the very outskirts of the city centre […] and don't mind a 15-20 minute walk to pretty much everything than you're in the right place. We stayed at two other places in the city centre where you could walk outside your door and there were pubs and cafes everywhere. Unfortunately, the closest cafe is about a 10 minute walk from here. In addition, the area does not appear to be the cleanest or safest compared to the rest of the city (though I am told the overall city crime rate is extremely low). In addition, the hotel resturant stops serving food early, but will remain open for drinks. If you want any food the only local thing that is available is a pizza joint next door which the hotel told us that we not allowed to eat at the resturant table while we were purchasing drinks from them - rather we were told that we had to walk 5 feet from the table out the door and eat it out in the lobby. "Very bad experience with Hotel Parking"
Couldn't fault the hotel itself, clean, affordable, close to town, friendly staff. The disaster lay in the parking at the hotel which is shared with others, the allocated spaces for the hotel are marked with a white dot which wasn't clearly communicated to us at the time. We had our phone on silent mode as we were attending a wedding at a nearby church, […] the hotel tried in vain to reach us to move our car . We had 20 mins to move our car but didn't get the message from the hotel on time. We were clamped and it cost us €120 to release it. We are trying to appeal. Very expensive wedding!! "Central, convenient and friendly"
I incorrectly booked the wrong date but the hotel and Hotels.com were very helpful and sorted me out. Hotel is very central and has a nice elevated bar with a view onto the city landscape. This is my second time staying at this hotel and on both occasions, I've been very satisfied with it, especially my last stay. I found the receptionist ,that was working during my stay there, an absolute pleasure to deal with. I was due to meet friends at the ferryman bar, close to the hotel. Because I was on my own, I enquired with the receptionist, […] I think her name was Catherine, about getting a taxi. she told me that she would be finishing work in 5 minutes and that she would be passing the bar so she would drive me there.
