I had expected nicer accommodations when I paid almost $300 a night. Location was good but found a bug (not bed) the first night. The furniture was very tired looking.

Didn't spend much time at the hotel so the very small room and bathroom were OK. The hotel location was outstanding. The breakfast staff didn't allow us to put two tables together to accommodate our group of 6 (huh?), so we chose to eat breakfasts at other breakfast restaurants within a couple of blocks of the hotel.

This hotel is in a great location. It is right across the street from the horse carriage rides and the market. Within walking distance of all the downtown attractions.

The hotel was lovely, but there was only one comfortable chair in our room. Since I did not want to lay on the bed to watch TV or read laying down, my only option was to trade on and off with my husband between a desk chair and a comfortable chair. Not ideal.

I had to change rooms because the walls are too thin. You can hear everything your neighbors say and do. Just wanted to relax but it was way too loud in the room do to noisy, loud neighbors with kids and really into sports. Second room was fine for a minute until babies were yelling all night! For 300 a night the rooms are way to small too and there […] is no pool. The only good thing I liked about it was its location. Right next to the market. This hotel is in a fantastic downtown location- unfortunately that means a LOT of noise from the street. There is a ton of foot traffic making noise at all hours and the incredibly loud street cleaner came through every morning at 4am to scrub Market Street. The room was clean and comfortable. Our toilet overflowed the first evening of our stay, but […] it was fixed promptly. The valet gentelmen were very quick and friendly- our experience with the concierge was not as positive. The hotel was OK at best. The fact that the work out room was not open until 8am was very odd. It made working out a challenge. Also, I guess I had hoped it would be a full service hotel with a real restaurant and pool but I was wrong.

We really liked the hotel. First of all its in a perfect location. The market is right around the corner. The ocean is only few minutes walking disance away and we even got lucky and saw so many dolphins so close ... Amazing ;-) anyway the staffs were super friendly and very helpful. Loved the inside of the hotel but we think its a lil overprized because […] for the amount you pay for one night there shouldnt be any hair on the bathroom floor and no broken walls or anything like that, it has to be perfect! But thats our opinion. Would still recommend it a 100%. Quick get away for the weekend. It was a perfect location near King St. and Market St and all the other need to see sites. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Beds and linens were comfortable, clean, and soft.

If you're looking for a swanky hotel that's right downtown, look no further. Right price, right place. And the bed was super comfy. Huge bathroom. My only complaint is the parking. Parking is valet only and costs around $20 a day. But the hotel itself is great.

We had a great experience at the Doubletree. It started with the valet and continued thru the entire stay from the front desk to the wait staff. Everyone was attentive to our needs and questions and did everything to make us feel at home.

The hotel was wonderful...service was great, room was great, food was great...I have no negative comment except for the parking. I was thankful for the convenience of the valet and in reading other reviews I was expecting to have to pay $11 a day for the parking and was prepared for that but when we got our final bill at check-out we were charged $22 […] a day. That was a shock - I think all that needs to be disclosed up front when you make your reservation. What you would expect. Great location, particularly for restaurants or walking through historic neighborhoods. I was there on business and was frustrated that the "free wireless" rarely worked and when it did it was so slow I couldn't even check email.

We had a lovely time in Charleston. We enjoyed being able to walk to dinner and breakfast and even got to peruse the market and pick up some pecan pralines at a nearby bakery. When my son forgot his favorite stuffed animal in the hotel room, it was kindly mailed to our home address at no charge.

We would stay here again as the hotel was very nice and our room was like a small apartment for a reasonable price. Everything we needed was within walking distance. A word of caution: we booked our hotel and were shown extra fees after we were billed and parking can be expensive in the area. Smaller king room is really small. Book the larger king. It's worth it. There is a newer wing with king rooms that are nicer with big bathroom. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

I gave comfort only a 2 because: 1- Noise. Our room (and many) overlook the hotel courtyard where loud, boisterous partiers yelled and sang well past 11:00 PM. It was loud enough that we could not sleep until they finished. On the first night, I called the front desk to complain and the person I spoke with said he would inform the manager. Nothing changed. […] The next night was the same but we were out later and went to bed later, so we were only bothered a shorter time. If you need a hotel where the reasonable expectation of a quiet room in which to sleep is more important than the drunks' right to yell and sing into the night, this may not be the hotel for you. Upon checkout, the clerk asked if my stay was comfortable. I brought up the above. He nodded knowingly and said it had to do with holiday parties. I bet it's anytime they host some kind of party. We recently booked a room last minute in the historic district. Checking out various websites for pricing and reviews, the DoubleTree seemed like a great value and did not dissappoint. Each suite offers a living/kitchenette, bedroom and full bath. All were clean and well appointed.

The hotel was in a great location for shopping and dining. Our room was very spacious and the bedding was extremely comfortable. We found the bathroom tub and shower needed a little maintenance. We would definitely stay here again.

I paid for a larger room which was not very "large" at all. The section of the hotel we stayed in was referred to as the "executive" building...had to walk through a courtyard to get there, the rooms need updating and was a little noisy (both guests and the plumbing). Location of the hotel was very good however for the price I would look elsewhere.

Would I stay there again? Yes! Staff was terrific. The only gripe I have is that the suites had couches that look like they came from a 2nd hand store. They were not all that clean and very worn. Carpets looked somewhat in need of cleaning, but that could have been due to age and wear. All in all, nice place to stay and very convenient!
