Best Western Plus Papago Inn & Resort — Scottsdale

Would recommend to anyone. Frigid AC, hot water in the shower, plenty of fresh towels, a bar, pool and breakfast restaurant. Even has a cage full of parakeets. Close to a major S. Scottsdale intersection so there are plenty of restaurants, PO, hardware store, several grocery stores. Close to the 101, Old Town Scottsdale and downtown Tempe.

Spent a week waiting for AC to be repaired. Never realized this little gem was right up the street. Will recommend to friends from out of town. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Other chain hotels in the area would do well to follow Papago Inn's example.

It suited our purposes well. It was very quiet and well kept.

The staff was always very helpful, including changing rooms. The air conditioning was always good, room clean, plenty of towels. There was a pool, a restaurant and a bar for guests, as well as a room with vending machines, ice, and a separate laundry room. All in all a good stay, and a cut above other chains I have dealt with in the past.

We had a great stay at this hotel, the grounds are very well maintained, pool area was very relaxing and peaceful. The hotel resembles a somewhat retro feel and well looked after. I really enjoyed my stay here! It was quiet, clean and relaxing. Such a cute small scale motel, a lovely vintage feeling. The staff at this hotel was fabulous. I was lost and called to inquired directions. Christine was very helpful. I had to call several times but each time she was polite, patient and very professional. I informed her that I had some peaches in my car and did not want to leave them in the car while I attended the summit I was in town for and my room was […] not ready for check-in. Christine offered to store the peaches in the walk in cooler for me. I really appreciated this gesture. I had arrived at the hotel the previous evening because I had mistakenly made my reservation for the following night. Bill was very kind and assisted me in finding alternative lodgings. When I returned the following day, he greeted my by name and made me feel very welcomed. He was friendly, professional and very patient. He welcomed me as if I were a long time friend. The motel was an oasis in the middle of the "urban jungle". The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. My room was comfortable and quiet. Overall this was a great place to spend time.

Wasn't too impressed when we first drove to the site but once inside hotel property was very impressed. The pool area and bird sanctuary (cage) was cool. Rooms were very nice and clean. Husband liked the TV. Would go back again. Surprised no complimentary breakfast. Other than that. It was nice.

This is great place for those looking for a reasonable motel in the Scottsdale-Mesa area. Older but well kept and very clean. All rooms face in towards a nice pool and green courtyard area in the middle of the complex. Would be a real hit if you happen to have kids along. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful!

My husband was pleasantly surprised, saying "this is the nicest Best Western I've ever seen"...pool area is great & staff is very accomodating...we moved after 3 nights b/c of a chain smoke next door from room across the dining rm to other side of the hotel (by parakeet cage)& noticed the room was abit nicer...we will definitely stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Papago inn prior to a job interview and found the property was very nice. My room door stuck every time I attempted entry. I had to body slam the door to get in. Pillows were terrible. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Vending room was locked long after if should have been open making it impossible for us to get a bottle […] of water. Although not in a pedestrian friendly area, a quick drive delivers you to downtown Scottsdale with all the restaurants and shopping it is famous for. Easy drive to airport. Driving by you would never guess the shady tropical pool area that exist behind the non-descript hotel facade. The huge parakeet cage near the pool is another nice touch.

We checked in fast and our room was 1st floor beside the beautiful well kept pool area. The room was recently updated. Everything was clean. very close to the Botanical Gardens and Hole in the Mountain where we were going.

We loved the pool - heated so grandkids didn't want to come out. However, there is a cage with parakeets close to the pool and they were very loud & annoying, very peaceful site otherwise.

The property is and has been maintained extremely well, with very comfortable bedding. A large parakeet enclosure in the groomed central garden/pool location is a nice touch, with the bird chatter greeting you in the morning.

Close the Desert Botanical Garden. The beds were comfortable except for the square, plump pillows. The setting was lovely with a little garden, pool and aviary around an interior courtyard. The service in the breakfast restaurant was very slow.

We were pleasantly surprised by the updated hotel and beautiful center courtyard. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. We would definitely stay there again and recommed it to others. We enjoyed breakfast in their restaurant and wished they served lunch and dinner.

Older resort style hotel, very nice location and guests very quiet. Nice beds, quite except for birds in the am which was sort of nice. (Bird aviary outside in main area). Guest services nice. Didn't use gym but have one.

Wow! This was truly a special place for me and my family. Beautiful courtyard, a nicely appointed room, wonderfully helpful staff. This will be remembered forever by us all. My daughter loved the robe waiting for her. Fit for a princess. My son loved the pool and walking next door to see all the exotic cars. The outdoor area was absolutely beautiful with the grass, pool, arboritum, swing and gazebo. We loved our short stay. The only complaint was that the beds are worn out. We were rolling to the center of the bed.

Room was small but nice, attractive bedding and good beds, good TV, counter top refrigerator a plus, great shower head. Courtyard lawn and pool area very pretty and restful. Staff friendly and accommodating. If you need fancy, this is not it...but we found it pleasant and comfortable - would stay here again.
