Kensington Riverside Inn — Calgary

Great little hotel. Friendly, nice location, good restaurants both in the hotel and close by in the area, plus easy walk into downtown, The included breakfast was also excellent.

Stayed here in February and had a great time. This stay was less stellar - lots of little things that went wrong - daily water not replaced, restaurant closed for 2 nights, tips sometimes added to bill from restaurant during my 5 night stay (though I had tipped higher than the 18-20% tip they charged), painting / renovating going on, etc. Still a very […] nice place, but didn't love it like I had last time. I love this hotel and stay whenever I can! The service it amazing.

Could not believe how quiet our room was being right on Memorial Drive. Very nice room. Bed very comfortable and so close to so many great points of Kensington. Would definatley stay there again.

This was a refreshing departure from the standard hotel experience. Victoria was super helpful (two others were as well, but am so sorry to forget names!), and the free breakfast was delicious. The queen-bed was comfortable and the room had just the right feel, in terms of decor and temperature. Nice closet with hanging and shelf space. A small set […] of drawers are enough for a few days' stay. Tall folks will love the shower space, the soaking tub is awesome, and the Aveda products and cotton swabs/balls for make-up removal a really nice touch. This is a really cool neighborhood within 10-minute walk of the more party-atmosphere and tourist-traveled downtown Calgary area (ie., Stephen Avenue or 17th Street). A quick ride on the C-Train or walk over the bridge, and you are there! Amazing jewelry and clothing at two nearby boutiques, Queens Boutique and Purr. Tthere are several cool bars and restaurants (Muse & Zevo) within a block radius. And don't forget to get a cupcake at Crave.....yum. The ONLY suggestions for improvement I have, are extremely minor when the entire positive experience is considered, but here goes: A few paint touch-ups on doors & baseboard moldings go a long way in terms of perceived quality, and some kind of storage for toiletries in the bathroom would be great. There is construction going on across the street, so if a light sleeper, keep in mind. However, I slept right through. They Hotel and location is great. My only negative comment the room was to close to the breakfast room and on a Saturday morning by 7:30 it echoed through our room and was very loud.

I was hesitant staying at such a small hotel on a recent business trip but these folks run a better facility than most of the big hotels. Very comfortable, very clean and great service. Parking, internet and breakfast were included in my rate.m I highly recommend.

My stay at the Kensington Riverside Inn was fantastic. Myroom was well appointed had a 42 inch flat screen tv, fireplace, comfortable bed and overall great service. My only criticism is that the hotel wifi did not always work. The hotel is located near great restaurants and shopping. I would stay here again.

The hotel looks much nicer on the site than in real life. Reno's have not been completed in the rooms. The tea/coffee service seems great unless you're a tea drinker, the containers all taste like coffee. Joe was excellent at the front desk, Peter acted as though he was doing you a favour if you asked him a question. Breakfast that was included was […] excellent. The room temperature was very hard to control and the carpet looked dirty. Overall the neighbourhood was amazing, muse the restaurant next door was AMAZING - as was a coffee shop across the street. I would stay there for the location and overall value compared to the other hotels in the city. The free internet and breakfast included made up for any of the annoyances. Uzziniet vairāk

Kensington is a super cute neighborhood, way more laid-back and youthful than other parts of Calgary that we saw. We were able to walk to downtown and to the warehouse area near 11th ave. We really can't say enough about the property. It was beautiful, and the amenities were so very nice, including the bath salts and the complimentary water. Also, the […] wine fridge in the room is stocked, and you can purchase bottles for a very reasonable price. The fact that the bathrobes came in medium and large was also a nice touch, as it perfectly suited me and my husband. And, thank you, Kensington, for free parking... what an odd luxury these days! Hotel was comfortable, recently rennovated, rooms nicely furnished, beds comfy, staff excellent and very helpful - highly recommended.

Had a three night stay at KRI and would have stayed longer if the hotel wasn't all ready sold out. The King fireplace room was spacious including a great bathroom. Nice view out to the river. Funky laid back neighborhood with interesting shops, pubs and restaurants. A quick drive or cab to downtown or the university. Underground parking included. Staff […] were very helpful and the daily breakfasts were great! For the few minutes we saw the TV, the cable hook up wasn't quite right, but other than that, the place was awesome. The air conditioner did not work sufficiently to cool the room below 82 degrees. We were also on the West side of the hotel, which complicated the problem. Also, the pilot light on the fireplace gave off heat, even though the fireplace was not on. Several spiders were on the back side of the drapes that covered the sliding glass door, therefore we were […] afraid to open the sliding door for ventilation. The positives were that the staff was wonderful and helpful, even bringing two fans down to help with the heat. Our room was very noisy, our window being right by the dumpster. I would not go back.
