Hotel Kavalir — Prague

Recently stayed in the Hotel Kavalir in Prague for three nights. Once my wife and I figured out the bus and tram systems, the hotel was very easy to locate. When we got there, the night receptionist was very helpful in providing local information, especially regarding good local pubs and restaurants - and his English was much better than my Czech! Our […] room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast staff were very helpful as well. My main gripe, as such, was with the lack of tea or coffee-making facilities outside breakfast hours. It's obviously up to the hotel, but I couldn't see the issue with providing such facilities. That said, due to the excellent public transport system (for which I'd recommend getting a 24-hr or 72-hr ticket, which allows you to travel on any bus, tram or funicular for the duration) the city centre and a large shopping centre are about 15 and 10 minutes away respectively. If I were to go to Prague again, I would probably stay at the Kavalir. Yes, you get what you pay for, but it does provide good value for money. Uzziniet vairāk

For the price of the hotel all I was looking for a good night sleep, but sadly the hotel Kavalir failed to deliver. First, our room was located over a busy street with noise all throughout the night. Second, because the room was not air conditioned the only way to cool if off was to open the windows only increasing the already loud traffic noise. Perhaps […] worst of all the room contained thin curtains that did little to block the sun. This was terrible because the sun rises at 5am in Prague during the summer and woke us up every morning. I had to sleep with a shirt over my face to block the light and our room wasn't even facing the sun! Simply put I would not stay here and would recommend that others look for better options. This was a big surprise, especially considering how reasonable the hotel was. While a bit dated, the room was perfectly clean. It was tiny, but I had ordered a room for one person, so no big deal. Breakfast was the other big surprise... it was very good and a large buffet. All this for an amazing price, close to downtown. There was a lot of street noise; […] a hospital must have been close because there were ambulances going by several times. No A/C, but the night was cool and I left the window open. Très bon rapport qualité-prix. Un peu éloigné du centre ville mais d'un accès très pratique en voiture. Situé sur un des grands axes de la ville l'hôtel est très bien desservi par le formidable réseau de Tram pragois. Bon petit-déjeuner compris dans le prix. Quelques restaurants authentiques à proximité si on veut découvrir le vrai Prague des quartiers […] populaires. Si on veut vraiment au calme demander une chambre sur l'arrière! Uzziniet vairāk

OK hotel til prisen. Beliggenhed lige op til stor vej, lidt støj på påregnes, men ikke noget problem hvis man sover med lukket vindue. Sporvogn kører næsten lige uden for hotellets dør, ca. 15 til Prag's centrum. Morgenmad udmærket, dog uden at være overdådigt. God kaffe. Lidt slidte værelser, men det betyder ikke noget. Greit hotell med parkering. Internett på rom var ikke den beste. Greie og rene rom. Litt støy fra gaten. Trikk og bussholdeplass like utenfor, men det var jo også greit hvis man ønsket seg en tur inn til sentrum. Kunne vært aircondition så hadde man sluppet trafikkstøyen. Elendig frokost.

Pros: one of the cheapest, has great internet connection and decent beds. Cons: everything in bathroom should be renovated, floor corridor and elevator look rather old too.

En face du tram N°9 qui méne en 15mn au centre, trés appréciable
