Fiddler's Inn — Nashville

I would have to say first and foremost that the staff was more than wonderful. Southern hospitality is excellent. As for the condition of the room while it was clean, it is very antiquated. The bathroom hasn't been remodeled since the 1970's. The air conditioner wasn't working properly and the TV kept getting louder.

The hotel's $5/person shuttle to the Opry pulled up just as we started checking in at 6pm. The desk clerk held the shuttle until we could finish and then, to save time, said we could pay for the shuttle when we returned. It was very convenient, rather than having to drive and pay for parking.

It was OK for what we needed. The biggest disappointment was the internet service- I think it worked for maybe an hour of the entire 4 days we stayed (thank goodness our phones had internet so we could plan our trips via phone). It was a motel-style set up which I wish […] I knew ahead of time (being pregnant during our stay, it was a little tiresome walking up the stairs and all the way over to the end of the row for our room) The location was PERFECT though- right off the highway and close to a bunch of random attractions. The room itself was clean; the check-in clerk was a little sassy when we checked in; it would have been nice to have a mini-fridge er microwave. Right across the street from the Opryland Hotel. The owner should stop hoarding cash and fix the stairs, the sidewalks, the exposed plugs, and paint something. We were looking for a place to crash and we found it.

This is a very dirty hotel. We stayed there because of location to Opryland convention center, but that is the only thing it has going for it. Rooms are very dirty and outdated. There are several bars right behind the hotel with loud music and people that wander around the hotel late at night. Not a good place to take a family. You know the saying...but this time what you get is worth more than the bargain price you pay to stay there. If what you want is a simple stay at a safe, convenient location, this hotel is a bargain. No frills, but nothing bad either.

After staying at the Gaylord for 3 days for a chess tournament, I gave my wallet a break and switched to the Fidler's Inn for one night at half the price. The cab ride between the two properties is less than $5, and the adjacent Cracker Barrel Restaurant had excellent food at very reasonable prices. The hotel is somewhat worn and certainly not upscale, […] reminding me of 1970s motels, but it was clean and the staff efficient and helpful. The phone in my room didn't work, and they replaced it within 20 minutes at 10 p.m. The bed was comfortable and I had no problem with noise, but that could probably be a problem at times. Just what we anticipated. The hotel was the cheapest and most convenient in the area. Very clean but needs maintenence work. Some of our trim was coming off the interior doors and the shower was clean but not working well the first night. The bed, again was clean, but missing the trim around the bottom so it looked as though it was held up with 2 x […] 6's. Not very "pretty" but certainly in the BEST location! And you get what you pay for. Friendly staff, friendly room cleaning staff as well. Walking distance to most of the area attractions (downtown Nashville is a 5 min drive) Tour buses leave directly from this hotel and many restaurant/ bars/ museums steps from your door. The sheets were blood stained but hotel service was prompt in changing them at phone call request. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room, which comes faily standard at most hotels. really enjoyed it. We went to the Grand Ole Opry. The hotel drove a van and took us to the show and came back afterward and drove us back to the hotel. Every one we came in contact with were great.The only thing , the shower was not the greatest, but it was a big hotel and lots of people bathing at the same time I am sure. I was there last weekend with some friends. Although we would have preferred to stay downtown, but NCAA was in town and nothing avaible. We booked at Fiddler's Inn and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is located across from the Grand Ole Opry and in the same parking lot as the Texas Troubador Theatre and other interesting places. The front of the a/c unit in the bedroom was falling off... And also the shower was horrible it constantly went from cold to hot.... Wouldn't recommend staying there even if you plan on doing nothing but sleeping.....

Booked for 2 days but didnt even stay 1! The hotel is like a 20-30 min drive from downtown via the expressway. The attractions nearby are nothing spactacular. The wax museum closed a few years ago! Arrived at hotel to drop of belongings before heading tI downtown area, room is not close to what is pictured! Very outdated! Can barely close the bathroom […] door when having to use the toilet because the room is too small....came back from downtown then went to leave again but the door would not lock! Was told the maintenance wouldnt be in until 8am the next day. At first they didnt offer to move us, but after we asked to cancel and packed up our stuff, they offered to....the phone in the room didnt work so I had to use my phone to call and have someone even come and look at the door! It appears as if they also rent out rooms for people to live in...the room next to ours had a senior citizen living it! The man was polite but I felt sooo bad for him having to spend his golden years living in a hotel! Overall, not the worst hotel I've been deceived by online....the room was clean! There was water standing in bathtub and they said they would send someone and they never did. We all woke up around four in morning coughing and sneezing. When we checked out, I complained about the bathtub and the front desk woman argued with me that this was a new room and there was no way the bathtub had water standing in it. It was your typical Motel 6 type hotel. Some minor cons, shower had very little pressure and was either too hot or too cold, there was no happy medium, and the coffee pot was broke, we did tell front desk but they didnt replace it. The motel was exactly what we expected. The motel was very convenient to the Grand Ol Opry and had lots of close by shopping and dining options. It was a cheap room in comparison to others in the area we wanted to stay so like I said we got what we paid for. Desk clerk was very helpful. Love the location of this hotel. The rooms are clean and relatively comfortable, but need updating. We stay here after late night Packer playoff games, and will stay here in the future. Hotel has reasonable prices, but needs up dating and a better continental breakfast. overall we are satisfied staying here.

It was a nice, basic hotel which was all I needed for this stay. The room and the bathroom were clean, but the bed was somewhat hard. There was just coffee and pasteries for breakfast but there is a Cracker Barrel right next door. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

I'm aware that this may have been an historical facility at one point in time. The hotel was really old fasion. the beds were very uncomfortable and the linen looked as if it came from early to late 70's. Our room was supposed to be double queen beds, they looked more like to full size beds. the rooms were very small.

The shower is horrible! It will go from ice cold to burning hot without you touching it. The breakfast consists of muffins and honey buns. This hotel is Not worth the money. The Guest house next door is cheaper and much better!

The room was mostly clean but a bit dated. Everything worked and you can't beat the location. My only complaint was the bed. The floor might have been more comfortable then their rock hard bed. My back was sore for 2 days. If you don't mind a hard bed then this room is for you.

Clean....Safe area and walking distance from the Opry for most folks...avoid shuttles taxis etc......light cont. breakfast fine......Cracker Barrel next door........Well worth the price.....I'll stay again next time in Nashville...
