Wyndham Kingsgate — Williamsburg

The unit was spacious, clean, well furnished and VERY comfortable beds (like the upscale hotels). The grounds were very well maintained. The very large pool area and the surounding miniature golf looked to be a great place for family vacation. What was not mentioned on Hotels.com site is they tried to charge us $5day fee for recreation when we checked […] in. We were there to golf - not use their recreation - so with some trouble it was waived. When you are sent to the consierge for your parking pass there is a VERY aggressive attempt to get you to go to a timeshare seminar. It was rather uncomfortable to just walk away but she would not take no for an answer. I would recommend this resort highly and would stay there again. Very convenient to restaurants, Colonial Williamsburg and not far from Busch Gardens. Uzziniet vairāk

Great place to stay! Friendly staff, helpful and informative, great linens and beds, and very clean! I would recommend to anyone with or without family and will look to stay there again.

Very nice to be able to stretch out in the condo, cook our own food and visit the sights.

Close to all the sights in Williamsburg. All the conveniences of home. Free game room and mini golf is great for families. The staff are extraordinary. They were very friendly and went out of their way to help. Beth

Condo was nice, but no housekeeping services which was not clear either on line or when checked in. Also on line did not indicate that there would be pressure to attend a presentation about the resort, which I didn't do. My girlfriend and I spent the weekend at the Wyndham Kingsgate, and we had a great time! Everyone was friendly, and our room (1 BR) was clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for the two of us. The stove and refrigerator/freezer were really handy, especially for travelers with modest food budgets. The hot tub was awesome, and I wish we'd been able […] to spend more time playing pool and enjoying the rest of the activity area! I also wish we'd been there in the summertime so that we could have enjoyed the outdoor pool and barbecue area. The hotel is located really nearby Colonial Williamsburg--literally a five-minute drive from Duke of Gloucester St. It's also only about ten minutes from Busch Gardens! As so many have reported before me, upon checking in, the staff will invite you to a brunch during which they'll try to sell a timeshare, but we were able to wriggle out of that one. While I can't say I loved having to say "no" to the kind lady who invited me, I understand why they hold these sessions, and you can't really blame them. The only other "problems" we experienced were minor. The TV's need updating, and the remotes need to be replaced. Likewise, the room keys/locks need to be checked out, as the room key worked only about 50% of the time. While we don't have kids, we agreed that this resort would be a perfect place to bring kids or teenagers. The activity area has tons of fun stuff for kids (or grown folks) to do, and the grounds are safe. Enjoyed our stay very much. However, we had a terrible time finding our room when we got there! There is no sign stating A or B, and our door in was marked "Private Entrance; Do not enter" -- besides which, that door would not open from the inside or out! If you need more space than a hotel room its OK but it is not a 4 or 3 stare place

I stayed in a 2 bedroom unit for 4 days and added 1 more day do to the Hurricane.We lost power for a day but that was not the hotels fault.The one thing I thought was petty was I booked another night staying in the same unit but had to check in again and pay a resort fee .When I asked if I could have another dishwasher soap packet and laundry packet […] the wanted to charge me for them..But if I had let them clean up my unit and move to another one we would have had 3 new packets for each.I thought that was tacky.I never complained to them about the lack of power and hot water.But they did not make any effort to be more hospitable .The staff are pretty amateurish.The rooms,bedding and furniture could be updated. This was our 2nd stay at this hotel, and both times have been great. This time was for our honeymoon . Comfortable, clean and in a great spot. I just wish check out was a little later than 10 and that they provided creamer with your coffee/sugar in the room. Otherwise, this place is fantastic.

Our stay here was wonderful!! Beautiful, Clean and the service was Friendly and Efficient. We Highly recommend this resort.

Check-in process was a bit intrusive - questions about family income, etc. We were also forced to pay a mandatory daily activity fee, even though we had no intention of using any of the activities. I found the resort to be very family friendly. A lot to keep the kids occuppied. Rooms were nice and spacious providing comfort.

The place was spotless and everything we could have wanted or needed was right there, inside our condo. The washer, dryer, oven, stove, dishwasher, 3 TV's ....anything you'd need to stay a very long time. Unfortunately we only had 3 days. We would definitely recommend this place.

Nice place overall and very kid friendly. Can be a bit noisy with all the kids, but kids are kids as the buildings are wood/vinyl construction. Overall you will hear some creaking floors and talking if your those around you are yelling or screaming. Concrete construction would have eliminated that but the wood construction adds homelike feel. Activity […] fee is an ouch if you are not going to use pool, put put golf, etc. For a timeshare they are not pushy. For families not a bad place to stay. Uzziniet vairāk

We didn't realize that hotels.com included timeshare rental. We were very disappointed with the accomodations, there was an odor in the building where our room was located. The decor was dated and in disrepair. The concierge was a timeshare salesman that you might find in a convience store in orlando. We don't plan to stay in any Wyndham property a […] gain. The accomadations were fine my complaint is the activities fee that is charged. We were staying there to visit relatives and did not use the amenities. I told them as we were checking in that we were only staying there so we could visit but they said it made no difference and charged us the fee.

We stayed in a two-bedroom unit at the Kingsgate late in July, 2010. The suite was spacious, well-appointed, clean and comfortable. With the large convertible sofa in the living room, we had three separate sleeping areas. The grounds were well kept, and there were numerouss amenities, including 3 pools, a poolside bar, and exercise facilities. The location […] was very convenient (by car) to both Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. We would highly recommend this place. Our only quibble was with the check-in process -- more forms and information to provide than I have ever experienced, and then a pitch to attend a sales seminar in exchange for reduced price Busch Gardens tickets. Every year, I have a family reunion in Williamsburg, VA. Last year I stayed with my cousin at the Wyndham Kingsgate. I had a blast there. It made such an excellent impression on me that I stayed there again this past year. Employees were very help full and nice. There are plenty of activates to do there. (You almost don’t even need to leave Wyndham […] Kingsgate grounds. The room was clean and the hallways smell nice. The room has plenty of space. Great accomodations. Pools were clean and the area around them was well kept. There was plenty for the kids to do and not once did I here "I'm bored".

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and my family can't wait to go back. I believe we had a recently renovated 2 bedroom suite with a pullout sofabed which was perfect for our family of 5. We definitely plan to stay there again when we return to Williamsburg.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wyndham Kingsgate. The condo was beautiful, modern, and very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised at the amenities and activities included (video arcade, miniature golf, use of resort computers). Prospective guests should be prepared to pay a nominal resort fee at check-in (we paid thirty dollars for a family […] of six). There is also a fee to access wireless internet from the condo units. To access free wireless service you must go to the activity center, which we found inconvenient. The room was very nice, exactly like the pictures on the internet, except no hottub in room. Expected the pool and the game room to be a little nicer and bigger. Did not like the sales calls inviting us to attend meetings. Got a call each day that we were there, even though we said that we were not interedsted at check in.
