The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort — Shawnee On Delaware

Hotel is very good and in a beautiful location. Only issues were that the rooms are not large nd the bathrooms very small. Hotel is showing some sign of wear but not excessive. Certainly a well run hotel and excellent for relaxation. Good golf course present at site. Good daily room rate.

I would return in the future for a much longer stay.

Staff wonderful. The room was not very comftable, old fashion, the bath room really old ......nice view . Eastern buffer good , however service was really bad an unprofessional and also they charge you 25% of gratuity and you are obligated to pay ,they included that on your bill!!!!! Not fare I was not very happy with that 27 dollars of tip for a very […] low service. I been visiting this hotel for more than 10 years hoever now I wont recommended, at all. I had a wonderful experience and hope to be able to come back again.

This hotel is very good including rooms and restaurant in the hotel (Lunch / Dinner expensive but good food). Breakfast was a buffet and had lot of variety. It's very relaxing place, by the river, big grounds, we had a great time with our family there.

Lovely hotel for a weekend away. We stayed for a night to test out the rooms in anticipation of our upcoming wedding at the Inn. The staff is wonderful, the property is well maintained and gorgeous, and there are plenty of activities to keep every busy! The rooms could use a make-over, and the reports we heard about hearing everything in the neighboring […] rooms are indeed true. But we had a wonderful nights sleep and enjoyed sitting on the rocking chairs on the front porch with a cup of coffee the next morning! Highly recommend the Gem and Keystone Pub for dinner. I spent a very romantic couple of days with my lady here. I was impressed by the service and the location.I def recomend the local Brew pub.

It was the worst hotel stay I've had in a very long time. The room I was given was beside the Vending Machine & Ice Maker. Thin walls made it hard to sleep due to all the exterior noise. Ready to watch TV, and remote did not work. Hot room - A/C did not work, so had to open tiny windows for air. They have a great pool and hot tub. Their rooms are pretty small though, and you can hear other peoples' noise.

Beautiful resort to stay. Although there are no meals included with your stay or the lack of fridges in most rooms- food was EXCELLENT. I reccomend getting the blankets from the front desk and sit on the porch with a loved one :)

The hotel was great very confortable and very close from the ski lodge , very nice staff i will defenetely go back had a great time.

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend getaway. The Inn was cramming and the staff absolutely fabulous. The surroundings were beautiful as well. We enjoyed the hayride around the village and Bon fire by the river. The pillow "menu" was fun as well! If you want a quiet weekend away highly recommended

Great location with beautiful views. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was smaller than we expected and the bathroom was extremely cramped and uncomfortable- with no vent, so taking a hot shower was terrible. We were also right on top of the bar, so there was considerable bass pretty late into the night. There is always something to do - hotel organized activities, concerts, nearby theatre, hottub, 10ft deep swimming pool, game room with a lot of games, arcade room, gym, restaurant, coffee shop, and other activities I did not use. Stayed with kids for 3 nights, while snowtubing and skiing on Shawnee mt. Big nice pool. Comfy beds. Good restaurant. Very nice cafe and the man behind its counter. Lots of books to borrow and read. I went on the off off season and still paid way too much for what the hotel is worth. The bed was not comfortable and the staff was polite but not friendly. I will not be back.

We had a fantastic time with family (13 total) and would definatly stay at the Shawnee Inn next time we're in the Poconos. The hotel was clean,staff was friendly and the grounds were beautiful. Rooms may be a bit small, but big enough for a family of four to sleep comfortably. I highly recommend this resort!

Even before arriving I had a good experience, with the concierge writing a very informative e-mail in response to my request for information on activities. This was an excellent resort! Even without being a golf fan there was plenty of good food, friendly service and comfortable rooms! Great hiking nearby also!

The room facing the parking lot at the inn was small and compact. I requested a chair for the desk which was readily supplied. There was a food backup after I took my shower. The hotel changed my room which was requested by the engineer as they couldn't fix it that evening. To start this off, we were stuck in this hotel as our car broke down on the first day. Our party consisted of 2 pairs of young adults. Shawnee Inn has in itself a number of free activities that guests can enjoy but some do require reservation in advanced, but overall, it was nice of them to have them. In addition, they also have their own raft, canoe, […] and kayak activities so even without a car, we were able to enjoy some of the water activities that Poconos offer. Overall the hotel was nice and very relaxing. However, there is one point that I must make and it is the sole reason why I'm writing this review. The restaurant they have on-site, The River Room, is a complete waste of money and time; charging 20+ per entree and offering a complete lack of quality and skill in food preparation. We ordered 2 appetizers and 3 entrees and the best part of the meal was the exit. Appetizers had a funky taste and we had to send that back. Our entrees include a duck, salmon and a broth and lets just say, we rather waste 86 dollars than to put the food in our stomachs. Charging 21 dollars for what seemed like a 4oz filet, and having it cooked to such a degree, I am sure it can bounce off the floor if I tried. The seafood broth consisted of overcooked scallops and overcooked shrimps in a salty broth that tasted quite weird. So please, save your money and time, and go elsewhere. Uzziniet vairāk

The hotel is 100 years old but is maintained very well. The food in the restaurant was delicious and fairly priced. The large veranda with rocking chairs was a quiet, restful place to read and relax. We definitely plan to go back.

Everyone from the staff to those staying at the hotel were so warm and friendly. I wasn't expecting that at all but they truly were welcoming and made our stay at the Poconos a pleasant one.

Great place to stay because of beautiful golf course and hiking trails in the area. The building is >100 years old. Nice atmosphere but rooms are bit old and could use some redecoration/update. Service of the staff is good and friendly.

The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort is tucked along the Delaware River out of the city, in a peaceful site - not in the middle of the Pocono's bustle. External grounds and amenities were first class. The room was very small and the view off this particular room was awful. We will go back there, but only if we get a better room.

The scenery of this hotel was top notch. The building itself was very nice and in fairly good shape considering that it was quite old. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The Room was very small and hadn't been updated in a very long time, the bathroom was DIRTY and so small that the side of the toilet actually touched the bathtub. We ate at the […] Gem and Keystone brew pub, the service was a bit slow, food and beer were very good, and the view from the back deck was amazing! we stayed in the lodge for misfit guests, I call it jokingly. While it is on the property it is NOT at the main building - this info was not provided to me upon booking. In hindsight, the room had a great view of the course, it was clean and the air conditioning worked better than it did for us when we stayed last time - in the main building. Drawback […] - VERY THIN walls..... We would stay in the Delaware Lodge again - or the main building... Canoeing/water sports were great - biking too. Gemstone Pub was essentially the only game in town - it was very agerage. The River View Room for breakfast was fine - no real ambience, however - so I wouldn't eat dinner there. Excellent location and service. Staff is very friendly and responsive. Its a historic place but then you have to know that rooms and not going to be big, bathrooms are also small and place in general looks old. But if you can consider that as part of its charm then its ok otherwise it could be a shortcoming. We ate in the River room, the restaurant […] within the inn - again excellent service by Barbara (manager) and Jeff (server) but the food was below par. As other reviews have stated that the rooms are small...they are but it was perfect. The room was very comforitable and clean. The food and home brewed beer from the bar were very good. The food from the restaurant was amazing. I really enjoyed the fire pit and smores sitting along the Delaware River.

We couldn't have asked for a better overnight stay. I would recommend this hotel.

Great hotel. comfortable and clean. Nice surrounding area. Only problem was they close the kitchen early, so there was no room service.

Hotel was nice, but the room was extremely small. We could hardly walk in the room, and that is with one bed. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, but I have never had such a bad experience where I could hear the people talking crystal clear in the next room. It was terrible. Picturesque grounds on gold course. Charming building. Our corner room was on the small side, but it worked. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Spa services were offering 2 for one while we were there and I decided to get a hair cut. Stylist was VERY nice and did her best, but she needs more training. Stick to the massages if you visit the spa or […] make sure you get an experienced stylist. The on site brewery had great food and beer and a quiet relaxing atmosphere. ROOMS TOO SMALL FOR THE PRICE. WE have stayed in 2 star Hotels that are way much better then this Shawnee. The only reason we came "back" after 20 years is because we had a nice time and the rooms were much bigger. Looks like they divided the room in 2 to make more rooms. But big miss take the rooms are not cozy. Anymore. Look it's that bad that coffee […] maker and ice container were in the shelf of the clothes closet. The toilet was so close to the bathtub that you had to sit sideways. IF YOU ARE clasterphobic I do not recommen this inn. Yes we did ask for a bigger room. All the rooms are the same. Very nice hotel for the price you pay. It was not so busy when i was there. The Restaurant and the bar are great. Also, it is very close to the ski slopes.

my girls and I stayed just a couple days but the trip was well worth it! we enjoyed a guided hike with some history as well as a hayride and ended the night with a bonfire by the river. what an amazing place and friendly staff! the only thing missing was the snow!

This hotel has great views. You can walk from the front door to the Delaware River (50 yards away or so) and has a golf course on the grounds. The main foyer is in great shape but parts of the hotel do need some maintenance. Parts could use a paint job and a rug replacement. Has a bakery on site which is a nice feature.
