The quality of the hotel is fine, it's clean and located in the business district. Ask for a room in the main building, as the other rooms are located above a noisy bar. There is no coffee service in this hotel, unless you want to sit in the restaurant. The front desk seems highly confused when I asked where or how I could get coffee. Though my girlfriend and I enjoyed our overnight there, there was much to be desired from the hotel staff. Their customer service, or rather lack thereof, left us with mixed feelings about staying there; the premises were excellent and comfortable, but there were a few members of the staff that gave us attitude and acted like we were the biggest inconvenience […] of their day when we did not even ask for anything. Overall hotel is decent. Housekeeping needs to improve stocking room with towels, change/clean shower curtain in the bathroom, but they are attentive when u asked for things. Nice service from staff. I thought the hotel was nice but over priced. It also had the screwiest air conditioning system I've ever encountered. There is a motion detector that will only allow the air conditioning to be on when it detects movement. So While you sleep the air goes off and you wake up sweating bullets!

They go out of their way to ensure every need is met and the rooms are the cleanest and most comfortable of any hotel in New Orleans. Love the beds.

My problems with this hotel is they assigned me to a room that was not yet serviced. They quickly fixed the issue but this was just a very weird experience. I am more of a conservative person, but I tried this hotel based on the rate and I got what I paid for. My second room although upgraded in size, did NOT have a working phone, of which also had […] been recycled from another hotel, with their information still being displayed. If you are looking for a bargin, and not so much into quality then here is your place. I prefer small hotels the Modern is situated in NOLA's Warehouse district, convenient to the business district, French Quarter & Morial Convention Center some quibbles: the default room temperature is too low (in the South cold is considered hospitable) & there are no ice machines despite signs on the walls to the contrary ...room service promptly delivers […] a huge bucket of lovely ice I like having a coffee machine in my room & they need to concentrate more on breakfast, which is my most eaten meal when at a hotel ...they were out of granola & only had cups of vanilla yogurt, despite the assertion that it was plain, as I prefer exceptionally fine & well trained staff, from the doormen to the cleaning folks quiet, although you do hear the St. Charles street car which runs just next to the hotel ...I find such sounds soothing, like rain on a tin roof Uzziniet vairāk

We stayed at the Hotel Modern and extended our stay immediately. The rooms are somewhat small, but super clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful (Julian rocks!). The place is slightly new, and a few things were a little disorganized (our room was not ready when we checked in, then the room we went to was occupied, but we eventually got our […] room, and a couple glasses of wine). Nice clean rooms, close to pubic transportation, nice location. The hotel staff very courteous and helpful. Our room was a little to small but comfortable. Would recommend.

Can't say enough about the friendly staff. Sometimes the management of the hotel seems to be in the early stages but I never felt neglected and they were able to accomodate me nicely during my stay. The location is very nice for a well rounded tour of NOLA by foot. General Lees monument stands directly infront of the hotel making it very easy to spot […] from quite a distance. The room was a bit small for more than 2 occupants but perfect for a couple. The hotel decor is shiek and modern as should be implied in the name (Hotel Modern,duh?) I will be staying here again. I usually stay in the French Quarter but nothing was available. I found this hotel and decided to take a chance because it was on the Trolley line. It turned out very well. We had 2 small problems with the room after we checked in. The toilet wasn't flushing well and the TV wasn't working. Both were corrected quickly and efficiently to our total satisfaction. […] We took valet parking when we arrived. That night we were attending the Lady Antebellum concert. We called for the car earlier than they recommended. Some glitch happened and the person who was to retrieve our car wasn't told. We stood on the sidewalk with him for awhile. When discovered he ran to get the car. We asked to not use the valet parking an opted for the parking lot behind the hotel. There was no problem voiding the initial charge. The lot behind the building worked really well for us. There are museums within walking distance. The trolly is practically at your door step. Overall the stay was fine. I would definitely stay there again. Murphy's law says things will go wrong. When the business corrects the problems promptly and courteously then it all works out. Uzziniet vairāk

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Modern during the Final Four. The room was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. It's right behind the WW II museum, and easy walking distance to the Superdome. Our only complaint was the noise level that could be heard in adjacent rooms and street noises.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was extremely accommodating. It was nice to come back to the lobby each day and see Scarlett, a georgeous red parrot. Hotel Modern is also an excellent value. We will definitely stay here again.

Lee circle presents a great intermediate location for downtown, garden district, warehouse district, & the highway. AND it's directly on the streetcar. Makes getting back from the French quarter very nice. A very small W hotel atmosphere- I mean that in a good way too.

I stayed at the Hotel Modern for a long weekend in NOLA and will definitely be back. The hotel sits right on Lee CIrcle in the Arts District aka the Warehouse District. The hotel itself is in great shape with a very modern, "hip" feel to it. There's even a parrot, Scarlet, in the lobby. The lobby feels like you've walked into someone's private library […] rather than a hotel. My room was on the 8th floor and while small, was perfect for thr weekend. This is New Orleans so you're probably not staying in your room much. The bathroom was fine for one although if two people were trying to get ready, it might be a squeeze due to the small sink and ledge vs. a countertop. The bed was very comfortable and I had no problems sleeping at night. They even provide an umbrella in the room to use although thankfully I never needed it. The location is very convenient. I love to walk, so walking form the hotel to the French Quarter was not a problem. If you don't want to walk, the St. Charles streetcar runs right past the hotel so you have easy access out to he Garden District or down to Canal where you can walk into the Quarter or connect with the Canal line. Nearby you have great attractions like the WWII Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, galleries, etc. and much, much more nearby. Great food is everywhere in New Orleans and you have places like Cochon, Cochon Butcher, Capdeville, American Sector, and the Soda Shop (great breakfast biscuits!) in the area and so much more. The Modern was recently remodeled and it shows. The rooms are small and spartan, but clean. The restaurant and bar are both quite good. The French Quarter is a quick cab ride, or a brisk walk if you like, away. The St. Charles trolly stop is just across Lee Circle. What a great hotel. Friendly and very helpful staff, free wifi, awesome interior design, great location, fair price, mini mart right across the street. Once you've exhausted yourself with the French Quarter you will realize that from Modern the Garden District is at your fingertips with the trolley, and that it picks up just on the other side of the […] circle. Awesome. The Belocq bar just next to Modern it is a must visit and is a great first stop that, for the first time NOLA visitor, totally opens you up to the town, but not in a Bourbon St. kind of way. My sister and I needed to get away!!! I was going for my 30th Birthday, and this was her first vacation since having her 2 kids!! We were SUPER excited, and The Hotel Modern really made our trip AWESOME!! The staff was very nice and helpful! The room was just big enough for the two of us!! The location was in walking distance of all the main attractions...not […] too far!!! If I HAD to say one bad thing, it would be that sometimes room service was a little slow! My wife and I met in New Orleans after a work conference and had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Modern. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Our room was small, but impeccably clean. Why would you want to hang out in your hotel room when you're in New Orleans anyway? The convenient location of Hotel Modern allowed us to walk everywhere […] we wanted to go. We didn't use the streetcar, but there is a stop on Lee Circle that will take you to straight to Canal Street or The Garden District. This is the second time I have stayed in the Hotel Modern (the first was while they were undergoing renovations in October 2011). The new decor in the lobby, restaurant, and bar is fabulous - my husband and I loved the bird in the check-in/out area! Very comfortable seating and a great feeling when you enter the hotel. We had paid for the large King room, and while I remember our Queen room being small, this King Room seemed even smaller? The room was wider than it was long, making the placement of the bed awkward in relation to everything else in the room. But, the bed is wondefully comfy and everything else in the room is so nice that I really don't mind the size issue. Nice bathroom, great mini-bar. My only critique is the ligthing in the room is less than fabulous. One light directly above the door and two lamps in the room, one of which my husband nor I could figure out how to turn on for the four days we were there. The location is perfection. A 20 miunute walk, or 5 minute streetcar ride to the quarter and short 10-15 minute streetcar ride through the garden district to the uptown. It's a little shady in areas (we had atleast 5 men approach us for spare change), but I never felt unsafe. All in all, Hotel MOder is our hotel of choice. Hotel Modern would be it! The location is perfect...between everything and right on the streetcar route. Park in valet & never worry about one way streets or parking again. Loved it! Comfortable. Trolley across street. Walking distance to downtown.

This is a boutique hotel, rooms are small but very comfortable. The St Charles trolley is just out the front door of the hotel. There is a convenience store just about 1000 ft away across Lee Circle that makes it very handy to grab sodas and such . A very dog friendly hotel and there's plenty of grass to walk Rover just across the street. Very comfy […] beds and only about 10 blks to French Quarter. We had the King room for our stay. I liked the modern decor. If you want space this place is not for you. Cute but tight spaces. The location is ok! About a 10 min walk to French Quarter. Recommended if your not too picky about space.

Top notch service during the busiest tourist season in New Orleans. Much improved from its old incarnation. Perfectly located to the WWII museum and the American Sector cafe.

Very comfortable hotel. You are welcomed with a glass of wine, which is a great touch. We took cabs everywhere, which was not expensive. However, if you're the athletic type you would be able to walk to most places if you wanted to. Decor is nice, and beds are extremely comfortable. The service at Hotel Modern was great. Everyone is extremely friendly, helpful & personable. They go above & beyond what I would expect. In fact, I couldn't get a cab to my meetings one morning, and was worried about walking by myself through DT New Orleans (there were some questionable blocks). One of the hotel staff actually offered to walk with […] me, and took me the entire way to the conference center, which was around 12 blocks away. He was extremely sweet & gracious about it, and made me feel much more at ease. Additionally, when I arrived, I was placed in a room that although non-smoking, the prior guest had smoked in. You could tell the room was well cleaned (as they truly tried to get the smell out), but as a non-smoker, I could still smell the smoke. They instantly found me a new room, and I had no problems switching. They even checked a few rooms first to make sure it would be ok. Uzziniet vairāk

I mention that because they gave me a room that was facing the front of the hotel, where the streetcar and road traffic noise was apparent. The room itself was clean, and there was a decent-sized restroom and closet. There was a safe-deposit box on the inside wall of the closet, although I didn't use it during my stay. I did have one complaint though, […] which relates to the adjoining rooms. The walls aren't very thick, so I could hear the plumbing and conversations from the nearby rooms. It wasn't a huge detractor from my stay, but something to consider if you need a good night's rest. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful with directions to get around downtown, so I appreciate their help and advice. There is a parking lot behind the hotel and it costs $18 for a 24-hr stay. There were some homeless people loitering around across the street from the lot, but they didn't give me any trouble and I never felt unsafe. I stayed at this hotel during my last visit to New Orleans. The room was clean and the hotel´s personnel were kind and diligent. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
