"First time and last time"
I arrived late at the hotel and the staff member could not provide me something to eat. They could easaly provide me with something, but decided not to. The standard of the room was not very good and I was not able to fully close the balcony door so it was very cold in the room. Even though I've ordered a "non-smoking" room the room smelt very bad […] and you could tell that either this room used to be a smoking room or the guest just didn't bother about the restrictions. This hotel was nice enough but was not as close to the airport as we had thought (our fault for not looking more closely into the area). There are buses that go from the hotel to the airport but they don't run regularly so we took a taxi for approx. 35 euros which the hotel arranged for us. "Very good experience"
We stayed at the Best Western Glyfada because we were attending the World Special Olympics and wanted to be close to the golf course. We were within 10 minutes of walking distance to the course. We also were just a couple of blocks from the tram system and although it took about an hour to get into Athens it was still very convenient. Also Glyfada was […] just a few stops down the line or about 20 minutes of walking and had nice resturants and shopping. The beach was a few blocks away, right behind the tram. Most of the personel and wait staff at the hotel were very friendly and effecient with help. We thought the beds were comfortable and even though the rooms were small compared to American hotels they were comparable to the rooms I've had overseas before. Hôtel sympa, sans double vitrage donc on entend bien les voitures, malgré tout mieux vaut être côté route car le soleil tape toute l'après midi côté piscine. La clim fait un peu de bruit mais c'est supportable. Le personnel est sympa, le petit dej agréable. Glyfada est à 2 ou 3 stations de tram pour se restaurer le soir. Localizzazione privilegiata per raggiungere facilmente Atene, Pireo, Sunio, Vravrona, Lavrio e aeroporto, ma è meglio avere una macchina. Le stanze che danno sul lato mare dall'esterno sembrano più grandi: hanno comunque il balcone più grande e la vetrata più ampia. Lo svantaggio è il rumore dello stradone di collegamento con Atene che è sempre trafficato […] tranne 3/4 ore di notte, ma la stanza è comunque ben insonorizzata. Il riscaldamento era spento, anche se sarebbe servito solo un po'. Ottima la connessione wifi, gentile lo staff, buona la colazione. "First time and last time"
I arrived late at the hotel and the staff member could not provide me something to eat. They could easaly provide me with something, but decided not to. The standard of the room was not very good and I was not able to fully close the balcony door so it was very cold in the room. Even though I've ordered a "non-smoking" room the room smelt very bad […] and you could tell that either this room used to be a smoking room or the guest just didn't bother about the restrictions. De 4 stjärnorna undrar man var de fått ifrån...Lite för långt att gå in till Glyfada. Det finns hotell som ligger närmare och dessutom är bättre. Dålig frukost men min erfarenhet från de andra hotellen jag bott på i Glyfada inte är bättre tyvärr. Bra att tram-stationen ligger nära samt flygbuss hållplatsen. Dejligt hotel til prisen, ligger fint i forhold til lufthavnen, vi var der i april og skulle bruge det til overnatning inden turen gik hjem til DK næste morgen og der var det ok. Men området er lidt kedeligt, der er vand i nærheden nem byen virkede ikke særlig livlig. Måske er det anderledes i højsæsonen. Staff was friendly and somewhat helpful. The hotel is located quite close to a road with heavy traffic which can be disturbing. The public beach is just a few minutes away and Glyfada center is about 15 minutes walking distance. Quite nice pool area.
