There is a slight upcharge at one of the restaurants for extras but it's very minimal. All in all had a good time and would highly recommend. I find the hotel to be a place to relax, enjoy sun, surf, and surrounding area. I do believe that they should be a little more lenient on checking out. Overall, I did enjoy the "service', and the food. Golf in the general vicinity was excellent, moderately priced between $45 - 60.00 and the tees are distanced for you to enjoy a par 36 (72) courses.

Most of the staff were very helpful and excellent however there were some who were totally ignorant of their jobs. In the later category I put the evening male bartender at the lobby bar who didn't have a clue what a martini was, how to make it or what to server it in - to add insult, he couldn't follow directions either. the hotel is only 7 years old, however the rooms have not aged well. We stayed there in 2005 and raved about it. This time however we had to change rooms because of a moldy smell in our first room. The staff tried to make up for the inconvenience but it was awkward and although we appreciated the effort it just wasn't what we expected.

Even thou the hotel infrastructure was good and the level of service very good (staff was extremely polite always), it was far from the "boutique" concept advertised by Expedia. The beach was not nice as the water was brown and dirty with debris of wood. I was told that the river which is just next to the hotel, brings all that debris from the mountains. […] And this does not happen to other hotels (like the Decameron) which are further away from the river. There was tropical storm somewhere in the area, so the sea was not calm. Maybe it was the time of the year I went, but not having nice blue waters as expected was a big minus. The very important minus point was the food: really awfull. No international options, only local local food like rice an beans for breakfast, etc. But also the quality of the components was less than average. Even a loaf of bread was bad. Everything was cheap. Alchoholic drinks were really ordinary. Anything with a brand, you had to pay extra. Mabe thats typical of the all inclusive concept, cheap food and drinks, a real pity. Also there are only 3 restaurants, one is the buffet where you have the ordinary and cheap food and the other 2 (a Sushi and a Tailand) you have to make resrevations before 10 am and they are normally full. We went to the Thailnd one and is not much different than a normal chinesse restaurant. The infrastructure is good: it has a quiet pool and a noisy pool so there are options. Nothing worked!!!! We booked 2 rooms for our family. The first night both rooms were mold infested. We were begrudgingnly given 2 new rooms that didn't have mold, however nothing worked! The room safe didn't work, only after paying a $20 deposit for a safe key did we learn that it didn't work because it had no batteries. The key cards frequently demagnatized, […] the TV remotes didn't work, the phone didn't work. On our last day we had no running water in the room and were offered no other accomodations for showering, etc. The food offered through the "all-inclusive package" was terrible buffet fare. We sought out the few options located near the hotel to eat. I can't beleive this hotel is only 7 years old - the accomodations wre so run down. The grounds and the pool were nicely maintained, however. One can only assume that was to attract buyers for the mega-complex of condos being built all around the property. Do not advice anyone to get a room with a ocean view as the rooms are near the entertainment area , it is very noisey if you want to sleep early ie 11.00 pm , so get a room with a garden view . Wir (Paar 30 & 37 j.) waren im März 5 Naechte in diesem Hotel und waren sehr zufrieden. Das Essen (nationale Küche und Themenrestaurants) waren schön und das essen lecker. Im Sushiresraurant waren wir etwas enttäuscht weil nur eine kleine Auswahl ohne Aufpreis waren, alles andere konnte gegen Bezahlung bestellt werden. Besonders schön ist das Seasiderestaurant, […] hier waren wir zweimal, ist total romantisch und gutes asiatisches Essen (ohne Aufpreis). Die Disco am Strand ist auch sehr schoen! WLAN ist gegen Gebühr (8$ fuer 24 Std) erhältlich funktioniert aber fast nur in der Lobby. Das Personal kann wenig Englisch, Spanischkenntnisse von Vorteil! Wer es mag: am Aktivpool gibt's den ganzen Tag Action und die Animateure sind lustig und nett. Es gibt auch einen ruhigen Relaxpool.
