Featuring three pools and three spas, an expansive recreation complex supplies year-round pleasure. A 90-foot lap pool remains open all year, but is adults-only in summer, when another large pool and a children's pool open for families. One spa holds 50 people, with two smaller spas reserved for adults. A playground is part of an extensive, supervised summer children's activities program.
In summer, the resort provides an 18-hole championship golf course, 10 tennis courts, a volleyball court, a trout-stocked fly-fishing lake, and a nature trail. Nearby summer activities include ballooning and mountain climbing, as well as mountain biking and hiking.
In addition to downhill, cross-country, and terrain skiing for adults and children, the resort's winter activities include ice skating, snowshoeing, snowtubing, and snowskating.

"Northstar at Tahoe Resort"
I stayed in a studio condo in Aspen Grove. Very nice and close to the village so I could walk in less than 5 minutes.
"Nice but a few things..."
Very nice studio condo but was overpriced. Also, was disappointed we had to drive to the indoor pool and hot tub, could not just walk from the building. They also charged to use the pool/hottub which for what we paid for our stay was very disappointing. Condos have great parking, wonderful wooded setting, you need to stand outside to wait for the shuttle […] to pick you up to take you up to the resort, no close resort parking. "Great location, old building"
The hotel-room style accommodations at Northstar are just that: standard hotel room, with an old TV, a small fridge and a microwave. The carpet has seen better days and the bathroom is so small you can barely turn around. The sink is separated from the room by a wooden wall, 3/4 high and it gets quite narrow between the dual Queen beds and the sideboard. […] The small round table seats only two, but there is a nice little balcony with more chairs and another table. The place certainly has seen better days, it has not been updated to match the modern day accommodations of the new village. Location is key, and that is why we selected this: a few steps outside the room you have the restaurants, coffee shop as well as the ski rental and ski lift. Very convenient, we didn't need a car all week. Next time we may upgrade and go to the new village, although its quite a bit more, it seems you get what you pay for. Uzziniet vairāk

It was not main hotel but pretty nice room. They charged for resort fee...(about $5-$6)
"Great location walk to Northstar Village"
After walking across the parking lot and down a set of stairs, we put on our skis and skied to lunch! Nothing better than that! Room was very clean, board games avail, liked the gas fireplace! Overall, would stay there again.
This hotel wasn't worth how much we paid for it. Yes, the location is good, but the walls are paper thin, the bathroom is tiny, it wasn't entirely a clean feeling place, and it was difficult to check in. I would much rather have spent that amount for a very nice hotel in Truckee. I will not be staying here again.

this resort is highly recommended. clean, stocked-up and honest people working there. my wife left her diamond earrings during our stay there. we were not able to get hold of house keeping on the day we checked out because the office closed at 4 pm. i called the next day, they sent somebody to checked the room, found the earrings and had it shipped […] to us via fed-ex free of charge. we got it 2 days later. definitely going back to this hotel again. We had requested a crib, when we got to the room it was a graco pac n play still in it's packaging sitting outside at the front door. We had to bring it in and set it up. The room was great but the facility (hallways, walkways) seem a bit run down. Also, probably my fault but I didn't realize that where I was staying wouldn't have a front lobby and restaurants inside the lodge. It wasn't convenient finding food.

"Cozy Room"
I had a good experience at the Northstar. I am one who doesn't care to get room service every day and it worked out great there. I only stayed for four days in the middle of September (2011) and most of my activities took place in the city of Lake Tahoe, so I had to drive 30 minutes there and back. I knew there was going to be drive when I booked the […] hotel, so that is my fault. I thought the room was very cozy and had everything that I needed for an extended stay: whole stocked kitchen, living area and a fireplace. Right now the resort area is under construction, so you may want full insurance on your rental. Overall, I would recommend this place that is not too far from downtown Truckee. We rented a condo for one week in mid-August. Unit was clean; had a nice view from living room and a decent kitchen stocked with most necessary utensils. Approach to building not landscaped; mostly dry soil and dust, which wouldn't be an issue with snow on the ground. Washing machine broken with sign saying go to another building. i was there in august, so not ski season. facility appeared half full. the stores and restaurant are geared for winter so many were closed. it is family friendly. not much going on in the way of night life. on site restaurants are okay, not inspired. it is about a 10-15 minute drive from the lake. not too much traffic. by the way, try garwoods and […] caliente restaurants (same owner). property is really pretty and well cared for. there is a good stable on site. "Convenient location"
About halfway between Truckee and Kings Beach, which is convenient during the summer. We stayed in Gold Bend condos in a 2 BR 1BA, but they didn't tell us it has an additional 1/2 BA, which makes it nice when you have more people. We took advantage of the pool and skating rink.

The first Studio condo had plain, tired furnishings. Bed was Murphy bed that wasn't too comfortable. College kids partied loudly above us and next day we asked to move to another building. The second unit was much nicer. "Rustic in the woods"
First know that this is not a resort or a hotel. It appears to be someones condo that is managed as a hotel. That said we were very satisfied with the studio condo that we stayed in. It was located in a very quiet development just down the hill from the village. We were a little surprised when we walked in and did not see a bed! Then we noticed the […] queen size Murphy bed that turned out to be plenty comfy. The kichen was well equipped, the internet was free, there was a bbq on the deck. The finish work was a little rough but quite functional. One warning we were on the 4th floor. Lots of steps if you have a problem be sure to ask for a first floor place. Our condo was cozy and clean, well supplied and the location was like a ski-in. An easy walk or ski back fto/from The Village, spa and gondola. We loved it!
"Awesome Summer Retreat!"
We had read in the local paper about hiking options in Lake Tahoe and were particularly intrigued by what Northstar has done with the biking and hiking trails in the off season. We decided to check it out and stay on the property vs. off. We had no idea what to expect except that for the price of the studio condo walking distance from the lifts and […] NS village, we expected an adequate by minimal space. We could not have done better anywhere in Tahoe for the price w/all the amenities. Included with our 2 night stay we received 2 free lift passes for hiking, and rollerskating passes at checkin. All I can say is we were completely blown away by the entire experience. We enjoyed 10 miles of hiking over the 2 day period, and did not need to get into our car until check out. Starbucks, great shopping, amazing food and the gondola to the trails were right off the trail from our condo's door. The ONLY drawback was that our lab loves to hike and while the village and the lifts are dog friendly, there is no overnight pet stays allowed at NS - even though the rentals are private residences. We decided to leave the dog at home this time so we could check out the entire onsite experience. If you don't have a furry friend to take along, Highly Recommended! Uzziniet vairāk
