This hotel is fine for a one night stop over, which is exactly what i used it for, on route from South Wales to Scotland it provided an ideal stop off at a very reasonable price. The Hotel is looking a bit tired, and the room although small was clean. The breakfast was fine and filled a hole. I foudn the Royal King's Arms to be comfortable and, in the middle of town, and a short walk to Lancaster Castle and the train station, comveniently located. I read other reviews complaining about the plumbing, and it is an older building, but frankly, I did not find a single toilet anywhere in the country (I was in Lancaster, London, Windermere, and […] Manchester for a total of 11 days) that consistently flushed like a proper US toilet, so I am not holding that against this hotel. Hotel good value for money and in the City centre. The hotel needs a bit of a make over but is OK for what it cost, Receptionist was very helpful and polite as were all the staff .

Great view of the castle from our room, which is literally a few minutes stroll away from the hotel. Everything convenient at the doorstep or a few minutes walk away, in fact. Very accomodating staff, rooms a good size and clean, didn't hear much noise outside come night time. Dinner a bit pricey and we had sandwiches and the bread was a bit stale, […] but plenty of other cuisine choices, once again, only minutes away by foot. The hot water did run out in our room for a day due to the hotel being full, which was disappointing. I loved our stay at this hotel in general and would definitely stay there again. Uzziniet vairāk

Love this hotel. The hotel itself is a bit old, but the staff are very helpful and friendly! cost of room is very reasonable too! right in the middle of Lancaster, highly recommended!

The hotel is in a listed building and therefore heavily restricts any modernisation of the interior which is clear to see. Floor boards are creaky and design is old. The rooms are well appointed and the breakfast adequate. There is secondary glazing to the original windows but in the warmer months when windows are needed to be open, expect noise as […] this hotel is sat on the one way traffic system and close to pubs/clubs. The cleanliness in public areas is unsatisfactory and the desk staff are minimum wage air heads. However, the bar is comfortable and when we brought our discomfort of cold water from the showers to the hotel manager, a sympathetic and speedy response was effected. All in all, I would say comfortable and adequate but do not expect much more. If you are wanting modern, clean lines and attention to detail steer well clear. Best regards Uzziniet vairāk

A city centre location with car park : excellent. Rather old fashioned with a bit of a need for a "spruce up"; but in some ways that adds to the charm. The old caged lift and original decor makes it a far more interesting stay than in the "deoderised business Inns" that proliferate these days. Similarly staff were courteous without using the common […] HR speak and antiseptic smile sinonimous with the retail industry norm. The room was fine, if not exactly ergonomic, with excellent internet connection; far better than the last time I stayed and faster than many more "hi-tech" establishments I have frequented in the last few months. Breakfast was excellent and served in an interesting room with balcony. All in all a stay you remember for the right reasons: slightly quirky but definately not sanitised. Uzziniet vairāk

The hotel is very central in Lancaster. Very friendly staff. Decor could do with updating but overall a very pleasant stay.

THE ONLY ISSUE IS THE CAR PARK, YOU DRIVE PAST THE ENTRANCE, THEN HAVE TO GO RIGHT ROUND THE ONE WAY SYSTEM / (ALSO A CAR PARK?). AS YOU APPROACH, LOOK UP HIGH, YOU MIGHT JUST SEE THE SMALL SIGN SHOWING THE ENTRANCE TO THE CAR PARK, IF NOT, ROUND YOU GO AGAIN! I'D USE THE HOTEL AGAIN

I would definately recommend this hotel. It is close to the station, has a free car park and is across the road from the centre of Lancaster. It is a small older hotel which has retained its beauty and individuallity. The breakfast/dining room is on the 1st floor overlooking the edge of the town centre. The breakfast was freshly cooked a rare treat. […] This is next to a cosy but good sized bar. It is very comfortable. The staff were very helpful. The hotel was in a good location and was a bed for a night! It was an old hotel and the room was unbareably warm, really small, the bathroom was mouldy and there were filled holes in the wall was not a nice room at all, but for one night stay it was fine!!

The Royal Kings Arms Hotel is right in the city centre, close to restaurants, pubs and the castle, and it's got free parking. The hotel is in a nice Victorian building and looks quite nice inside. The bed was not that great and breakfast did not impress. Overall probably the best pick in town for leisure travellers.

Abbiamo soggiornato molti giorni in questo albergo perché siamo venuti a vivere a Lancaster e nel frattempo stavamo cercando casa in affitto. Quindi l'albergo è diventato man mano, familiare alle nostre esigenze. Comodo, sempre accogliente e caloroso. Lite rom. Kaldt vann i dusj. Dårlig frokost. Dyrt i fhorhold til standard og service.

Hotellet har en fin beliggenhet midt i byen, og det er det eneste positive jeg har å si om dette hotellet. Hele bygningen er forfallen, gulvene knirker, møblene er gamle, gangene lukter røyk og mugg, og rengjøringen var absolutt ikke tilfredsstillende. Beliggenheten langs Lancasters hovedfartsåre gir en del trafikkstøy, og på noen av rommene var det […] ikke mulig å lukke vinduet. Skittent, forfallent og uhyggelig er min oppsummering av hotellet. Vi har bodd på dette hotellet flere ganger, og alltid vært veldig fornøyde. Kjempekoselig hotell med utrolig hyggelig stab. Rent og pent og fine rom. Full frokost følger med. Eneste vi kunne ønsket var kjøleskap og safe på rommet. Hotellet ligger veldig sentralt i koselige Lancaster, med gå avstand til alt. Anbefales på det varmeste.
