I would not even want Hotels.com to affiliate with this place. We just needed a clean bed for a quick getaway. The hotel was filthy...all the furnishings were run down...The breakfast bar in lobby was a small counter at best. The location is great if you want to party and stay up till 2am. Travelodge Oceanfront was located on the beach and had a boardwalk view which was the only thing nice about the whole entire experience. The hotel is very old in condition and the rooms floors where sticky and very dirty appliances. The bathroom toilet was very nasty as well as tub. I had to purchase some Lysol to clean the room and bathroom.

I had a two night stay and was very disappointed with the appearance of my room and the hotel in general! It is very old and has not been kept up with at all. We enjoyed our weekend here. This property is showing its age, but is a good value at Virginia Beach. The staff was always helpful and the room was tight but comfortable. The view was amazingly beautiful!!! The room however was FREEZING cold!!! It took FOREVER to warm it up with both heaters running in the room. When trying to take a shower it took 15 minutes for the hot water to finally become hot. During the summer time, this room may not have been as bad but for being off season I would NOT reccomend it.

The location was great. The price was right. The hotel needed updating. The walls must be paper-thin because I heard every single noise outside. The balcony door was not sealed very well. Very drafty. HVAC was extremely loud.

With so many choices on Atlantic Ave right on the coast in VA Beach there is no reason to ever choose this hotel! The view from the balcony was lovely (as is the view from the balconies of most of the hotels down there) however the balcony door was stuck shut so I couldn't get out onto the balcony. To make it worse the door wouldn't open but it also […] wasn't closed all the way so the room was freezing. Worst of all the Wifi worked for about 10 mins after I checked in and I was never able to log on again for the rest of my stay. The room I booked had 2 doubles and a pull out couch. The man at the front desk tried to tell me that they only allowed 1 car per room and that I could not pay an additional fee for an extra parking pass because they were "all booked up" for the night. Funny because he tried to sell a room to the man in line in front of me seconds before that... Then […] the man at the desk also tried to tell me that each room can only have 2 adults and 2 kids, after that there is a fee of $10 per night per person. Why would I book at room that sleeps 6 and only have 1 car and then have to pay a fee for the 2 extra adults? NOTHING was mentioned about the parking fee online. It was listed that there was a fee per night per person but the man at the front desk did not charge me because he forgot. He also forgot to tow my MILs car cause we left her car parked in the lot for the next 2 days and never heard anything else from him. The rooms cleanliness was average, it felt damp and smelled musty but I figured that is normal for an ocean front room. The elevator was broke which was a let down as I am traveling with my 6 month old son and we were placed on the 3rd floor... No one offered to help us carry our bags up the stairs. I would stay at the hotel again as it had a good location and the prices were fair but do not count on the wifi to work. Also the breakfast was ok, just cereal and pastries with coffee and juice. Hotel looks nothing like the pictures on the website. Very poor upkeep and the TVs and appliances were outdated. Only 1 remote so had to take it to bedroom to watch that TV. The bathroom is too small and the sink is not located in the bathroom. Only 1 elevator and parking is very tight. Unlike the nicer hotels in that area the room is on the street […] side of the hotel and with the poor upkeep you can hear noise from the clubs across the street late at night. The young lady that was helping him is the only reason this wasn't dreadful as well. She did smile,was courteous and helpful. The room was a nightmare. It looked like it had been cleaned weeks before our arrival. It had an awful […] old smell almost like mildew. The air conditioner needs to be replaced immediately. It was old and rusted and full of dust. The one in the bedroom was too so loud it kept us up most of the night. The living quarters needs some improving as well. The couch was old sagging and stained. We did not want to sit on it. We had to put a blanket down to sit on it. The floor was no better,while it "looked clean" it needs to be replaced. My daughter walked on it with no socks on and at the end of the night her feet were black. She's two years old so she wasn't walking barefoot anywhere else that day! The bathroom is super tiny, and the toilet makes a loud squealing sound when you flush it. The room itself was very small for a family suite. I would say that it needs some upgrading but really, they need to tear it down and start over! New paint and furniture just are not going to do. The only positive thing I can report is we had a great view of the ocean, and once I got over the feeling that something was crawling on me the bed was very comfortable. Our first room had the following things wrong: the bathtub wouldn't turn off; the light bulbs in the lamps were blown; the main TV didn't have a remote; and the air conditioner was leaking water onto the living room floor. The second room they moved us to, the hot water in the sink didn't work and they […] didn't have any wash clothes for us to use. Instead of apologizing, the front desk just kept suggesting we move to a different room. When you have unpacks 2 kids and 2 adults and are only staying for 2 nights, you just want them to come fix it quickly. They didn't send maintenance up until 8:30pm the first night. This hotel is the living proof that you can't be frugal for vacation. We've had good experience with other hotels with low ratings at Virginia Beach and took our chance for this hotel, boy, we were wrong. The hotel was very unclean, a sizable half dead bug on the bathroom floor that I had to pick up and threw into the toilet before my wife went coma. […] The bedroom has no window so it's dark and damp. You can feel it from the bed sheet. It was a hard night sleeping on that sheet for my wife. The elevator smell aweful so we only took it once in our stay. The stairs smell like cigarette.
