South Coast Winery Resort and Spa — Temecula

I stayed at this hotel to meet up with some friends in Temecula. The rooms were wonderful. The weather beautiful and the view was very relaxing. Had a spa treatment and that was great. Only disappointment was the restaurant. Hopefully an off night for the chef, but food was mediocre in a very lovely setting. Will definitely come back.

Wonderful! The essence of grapefruit blossoms from the trees just outside wafted through our patio doors. If we didn't know any better, we would have been in the Emilia Romagne.

I loved my stay here! The grounds were beautiful to walk, the staff were all very kind and helpful and watching the hot air balloons right out my patio window in the mornings were spectacular. Due to TV set up not good,we cant see TV from both sofa and bed

My husband and I stayed here from March 22-25. The villas are large and look much like pics and virtual tour on line. The carpeting in our room was "tired" and in need of replacement. Rooms have low light and are dark. The furniture is very ornate.The villas are quite comfortable and have gorgeous baths and wonderful patios overlooking grapevines and […] flowers. Lovely grounds around the resort, fabulous restaurant and wine. Especially love their Meritage red wine. Had a problem with our lock (could not enter) which took too long to fix. Communication between staff was not good. Problem was eventually fixed but it was annoying to get back to our villa and not be able to obtain entrance several times. This hotel is great. The rooms are huge and the bathtub is big enough for two. The hotel is in a great location. Only complaint is wine tasting room way, way too crowded.

found this hotel based upon ratings from Trip Advisor and I can honestly say it absolutely lived up to billing. Wonderful winery and restaurant and the villas were spacous and clean. Would love to return soon.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a nice weekend getaway. The villas are very nice and the scenery is gorgeous. We can't wait to stay here again!

We last visited Temecula 8 years ago and were perplexed that there was not much to choose from in terms of a hotel near the wineries, so were surprised and pleased this year to find the South Coast Resort. It is in a prime location, right in the middle of all the wineries and is a first class hotel, restaurant and winery in and of itself. Great lodging and spa. Have to search to give anything other than top rating......in room coffee pot and coffee not on par with everything else.

The villas are spacious and the grounds were beautifully decorated for the holidays. The pool area by the spa is a great place to relax, and the massages were great. Food was so yummy! Service by our waiter Sean was perfect. My only complaint? It was so good I wanted more. Spa was to die for. I got a hot stone massage and it helped me cope with the pending family Christmas get together! My only complaint about that? This is a lovely property. A little pricey but worth it for a romantic weekend. The view is very calming (vineyards and rolling hills). The food in the restaurant is fantastic... and the whirlpool in the bathroom is the best one ever! Come and see for yourself!

Our villa was amazing! Nicely appointed, very comfortable and very private. While 4 villas share the same courtyard, they do not have any common walls - they're free standing buildings. The villa was fantastic! Very spacious and perfect for a romantic getaway. Beautiful setting in the vineyard and convenient parking.

20th anniversary weekend and it was fab. Wife loved it!!!!! Wine was great.... We'll be back!!!!

This place is a great place to stay. Very private and the rooms are beautiful. No connecting walls in the villas. You get a private patio outside your room as you sit just feet away from the vines. We will definately return.

This place was awesome! We are coming back in January and will definetly stay here again! Great food, great wine and right in the middle of all of the wineries.

Stayed at SCW in Oct. because we've stayed there before and loved it. Very romantic, beautiful setting, and great location! But...the rooms need some updating ie. the T.V.'s are extremely old and are hard to see from certain areas of the room. The fireplace didn't work very well either. But...the BIGGEST problem we had on this particle vacation was […] that when we awoke in the morning to take a bath, there were lots of mouse droppings in the bathtub. I called to let the front desk know we needed housekeeping to our room, but one employee just told us "that it happens cuz we are in the country" she'd send someone to clean. I did end up talking to the manager afterwards and she was very apologetic and helpful. Would we return again....Yes, maybe, but would request a better view next time, as we didn't over look the beautiful mts. or anything. Fabulous location, accomodations and resort in Temecula! Villas are private, romantic and peaceful... perfect after a day of wine tasting.

The hotel was great. It was nice to have a separate little bungalow, rather than the typical hotel layout. I loved having the vaulted ceilings and the little private outdoor patio. Although the reason for our trip, a hot air balloon ride (got canceled) this hotel was a nice place to just get away. I wish that we could have enjoyed the pool a little […] bit more, but it was literally so miserably hot we didn't go back out there until about 10pm. The size of the rooms are fantastic. You have enough space to relax. Love the patio, a great way to spend your time having a glass of wine after a day of wine tasting. I do think the breakfast food needs to be better. For a resort spa it needs to be of better taste and more gourmet.

my boyfriend and I stayed here for only one night, but it was wonderful. Nice rooms and an accommodating staff. Can't wait to come back!

The villas are beautifully decorated and it feels very private. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch. The only dissappointment is that I had two rooms reserved under one reservation and the on line system wouldn't allow the same name for both rooms. Upon check in my husband, who was listed under prepaid room number 2 had not arrived as […] of yet, so the hotel insisted they would not allow us to check in to that room unless I called the on line system to change it or wait until he arrived. The place was so nice we had a Blast. All the employees treated everyone with respect, That was so refreshing. We will differently be staying here again.

We checked into South Coast after an evening Temecula wedding and it was so relaxing and comfortable. The suite was amazing - we look forward to going back and enjoying our free wine tastings!

The villas are surrounded by vineyards. Many wineries are close by. The South Coast Winery was one of the best that we went to. We stopped at about10 other wineries. While close to the wineries it was a little outside of town so it was a bit of a drive to go to other restaurants and shops.

Loved the room, the pool, and the winery. Very relaxing place to spend your wedding night and after:) we had a great time there. Only thing that should be changed is the air conditioning unit. Not central.. Hard to cool bed area

The room was outstanding - I would expect to pay hundreds more for such a place. The Restaurant in itself was awe inspiring - It reminded me of a wooden yacht. The food was 5 stars. Order the house Cab and pay the extra $1.50 per glass for the upgrade.

As newly weds, my wife and I were concerned about doing a honeymoon vacation away from our infant son. We decided that being a Temecula resident had one major perk, South Coast Winery Resort and Spa. This location stands up to its advertisement and is moderately priced for offering attached villa accommodations. The food selection was fine dining at a reasonable price range. The service was above par and extremely attentive. Our food was prepared to our specifications and was delivered as a three course evening with dessert. The atmosphere and ambiance were subtle and elegant. Our first evening spent together as a married couple will be in our memories. We stayed through the morning and also treated ourselves to a relaxing afternoon at the Grapeseed Spa with massages before heading home. It was a last minute decision after all day in the wine country. There isn't a closest and the nicest hotel near by, so I used the website to get a 15% discount last minute special for this. Upon check-in, the staff is friendly, and when I got into the room, there is a bottle of wine waiting for me along with 2 bottles of water all complimentary! My husband and I will stay at this resort any time we get the chance. The room was beautiful, the food was fantastic and the service was great. The spa treatment was one of the best I've experienced. All of the resort's associates were very helpful and friendly. The entire experience exceeded our expectations.

My fiance and I went for a night as a mini getaway before our wedding. We loved it! PROS: great location, one of the first hotels on the vineyard so easy access from the main road. Southcoast was a wonderful surprise. I knew about it as a Winery but not for the hotel. The rooms are suites set back behind the main building four to a cluster. It offers the privacy and quaint cottage ambience that you want in a romantic getaway. Overall decent hotel, had an issue with the smell which could have come from the drapery liners which are rubber and checked in on a hot day. Room was clean and was a decent size for comfort. Went on a weekday so not very crowded.

I booked this resort for my best friend's bachelorette party and it was absolutely perfect. The resort was tranquil and relaxing and our villa was a few steps away from the pool and spa, which were like those you find in luxury 5-star hotels. They had pool-side service and the spa had every amenity you can think of. I had a massage done and it was amazing. […] They are so professional there and they really go above and beyond to take care of you. They even give complimentary wine after the service.
