Sunshine Inn — Spartanburg

The linen, face towels, bath towels,curtains, and the carpet appear very unsanitized. it seems that these things were thrown in the washing machine together. The color of each item look dingy, not white, and the towels were all spoted with dark spots. I was glad to have a supply of my own towels, and a clean pillow.

The people was great very respectfull the room needed some work. the bathroom door wouldn't lock it wasn't well set on the hindges. they cleaned the room every day, but when i went to get my shoe from the flor i saw under the bed and there was trash resedue from previous occupants.

I came in very late for an interview in the morning and was surprised by the poor condition of the hotel in general. It was conveniently located close to the Amtrak station and the place I was going to. My room was small and had an odd smell to it . I was concerned as to the last time they had washed the sheets. I did not use the coffee maker as it […] had some crusty stuff in it. The people there were very nice and accommodating, and that is the only reason I gave them a two for overall rating. Not a safe environment. Suspect characters lingering around hotel grounds. Everything was very old, stained, smoke ridden and just plain beat up. Only stay if you just need very basic needs for the night. Pool? dont think so. Breakfast? Forget about it. This should be your last stop after backseat of car.

The listings for this hotel are misleading. The listed pool is closed; the listed wi-fi connection did not exist; the complimentary breakfast was not available at the rate listed. Its chief attraction was its low rate, but with these unkept promises, plus the poor exterior condition and the bug I found in the bed, I wish I had chosen a more typically-priced […] motel. If all you need is a place to lay your head, it will work. Very friendly clerk, probably manager or owner. Foreign operated with resulting deteriorating rooms. Couldn't close the bathroom door securely. In a poor part of town; felt compelled to peek out the window periodically to make sure the car was okay. I just needed a place to stay on my little trip to Spartanburg. This hotel was pretty inexpensive and was convienant. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It's no luxury hotel, but it was worth it.

Location coupled with a low price is all that this hotel has going for it. The entire property (room, common areas, etc.) is in need of a remodel. The beds are hard as bricks, the rooms are small, the bathtub was stained, there was a slight bit of mildew on the shower curtain, one must hold down the toilet handle to flush, and on and on. It's doable […] if you just need a place to sleep and shower, but it's not a place in which you want to spend a lot of time while awake. The location within walking distance of the downtown area and across the street from Wofford College was the only reason I chose it. For the next Wofford event (I was there for Homecoming), I may stay there again due to the location and low price. But for a trip to Spartanburg for any other reason, I would stay elsewhere. The outdoor swimming pool had hours posted when it was supposedly available, but, in fact, it was closed permanently. The hotel manager said its closure was due to bad water quality.

Its Ok for the money. Not the cleanest. If you just need a place to sleep and shower its fine. The free internet is bad, very slow when working, it keep's going out.
