nice quaint hotel, with all basic needs provided for. breakfast was extra 9 euro or so, a bit pricy especially with a bakery down the street. room very clean and all a single traveler could ask for. each floor had a shared toilet which was annoying at times, but with a shower and sink in the room it wasn't too bad. nice and quiet, elevator for those […] that can't do stairs. people at front desk were good, and good hotel security someone there all the time to let you in and make sure no randoms wander into the building. very comfy but with not too much extra! would stay here again! terrific location close to the legendary Jazz Club New Morning which was the main reason for the Paris revisit. Hotel itself was a little inconspicuous, room so-so, wi-fi worked perfectly so all in all satisfied with value for money. Breakfast was not as good as hoped for, probably better to go with one of the more artisan-style eateries nearby!

The hotel was well appointed and very quiet if one gets a room at the back. We shared a bath which was no problem. I would suggest that each room be given its own bathmat; if you are the second in for a shower the mat is quite wet. Disposable flipflops would also be an option (preventing athlete's foot).

Nice area, very close by metro to everywhere, the hotel is quite small but I understand that most in Paris are. We had a shared shower room which was fine, didn't encounter any problems. Very friendly and helpful staff and I would highly recommend for a budget option, we got a very reasonable advance deal. PS lots of cats.

The Monte Carlo is a delightful hotel, with stylishly furnished bedrooms (well lit for reading). The reception area is small, cosy and characterful, as is the adjoining breakfast room. It is only 100 yards from the fabulous 'Le Chartier' restaurant, near the 'Bourse' and financial area and just north of Chatelet les Halles. After an evening meal in Montmartre is was a lovely downhill walk back to the hotel which only took 15 mins. Recommend exploration of nearby rue Montorgeuil with its fabulous market and food shops. Hotel Monte Carlo is a small family oriented hotel that is ideally placed for those who want to walk and explore a little. It is at the edge of Montmartre and easy walking to Galleries Lafayette, Arc de Triomph, Louvre, Champs Elysee and Sacre Coeur. There are many good and cheap bistros and cafes close by. Staff at the hotel are very friendly and are very helpful should you have problems with language, tour arrangements etc. Room price is very reasonable for the location. Rooms are smallish but with en suite. The rooms could be quite hot at the height of summer, but the hotel is heated for winter and ideal for spring and autumn visits.Road noise is minimised by double glazing and the whole hotel is non-smoking. This is a cozy hotel in the middle of an excellent area. I travelled with my mom who is an old lady, walk with cratches, so we used mainly the bus system. Quite difficult at the begining but manageable. the best thing i have to say is that the customer service is unbeatable. since we arrived Thomas explained everything, so accurate, even printed out […] some of the bus routes for us. very clean hotel and bedroom. toilerettes and fresh towels every day,. dont expect a large room. i would say this hotel is not for claustrophobic people. no mini bar in the room. Faobourg street is a road with plenty options for drinking, eating and even do some grocery. Carrefour is like five blocks, there is a minimarket in front of the hotel, coffe shops nearby where you can have breakfast. I strongly recomend the coffee/daily shopping in the corner opposite to the hotel; fresh squeezed orange juice to go for 2,90, 4,90 or 7 litre bottle. if you feel like walking go to grand boulevards turn rigth and 300 meters after youll find many bars and even a Hard Rock Cafe. if you keep walking youl get to Opera. i would stay here again. and Thank all of you guys that make our stay very pleasant. I think this hotel was a bargain and made my stay in Paris much more affordable. Paris is the most beautiful city I have ever seen. The hotel seemed to be in a safe neighborhood with a small grocery store and restaurants nearby. It was very close to the metro station so it was convenient to get to all the sights in Paris. Fans were provided. The free Wifi was very useful and worked well. Cons: I stayed for 6 nights but had to switch rooms on the 2nd night. The 1st room I stayed in was nicer. It had no bathroom or shower in my room which I had expected. I don't mind shared bathrooms. The 2nd room had no toilet but had a shower. I think previous guests have used the shower as a toilet because I smelled a urine odor the 1st time I tried to use the shower. I did not use it again. I use the shared shower in the hall for the rest of my stay to avoid the odor. The shared shower was clean. I stayed in a single room in the 4th floor...very, very basic and really small, but ideal for solo travellers looking to spend little time in it for anything other than sleeping. Very helpful staff, spoke fluent English, loaned me an adapter for a US appliance, kept my case on check out day until 6pm to let me look around Paris. Good budget hotel close to restaurants, the metro and within walking distance to the Opera district and Montmartre. If we booked this hotel again we would probably book a room with a bathroom as opposed to a shared bathroom. Just less hassle.

Great little hotel. V.clean and good showers. Surrounding area a little run down, but good location with regard to getting around to various sights. The only down side was 'no internet connection' during our stay, as they were experiencing some tech. problems! Street facing rooms can get a little noisy in early mornings as the traffic starts.
