Lobby was dirty and carpets soiled . No screen on window( first floor, dangerous). Dirty smell. Only Two large towels for shower. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

The clerk was not a super conversationalist (no greeting, minimal words (no additional information if I hadn't asked about breakfast, parking, etc.) but I was tired anyway and just wanted my room. Parking was good, my dogs were happy and so were we. The air conditioner didn't have knobs so I couldn't turn it on so had to open the window (good thing […] we were on the second floor and it was safe to do so) that was about it. "A nice surprise"
This was our first stay at this hotel, and we were very happy to find an extremely comfortable room and bed. The staff was top-notch and very responsive. We had a minor issue after getting to our room, as the non-smoking room smelled of heavy cigarette smoke. We were moved to a new room right away, and given a free upgrade, to boot! We'll be back.

"Sleep Inn Bakersfield"
I booked this place last minute, based on price and proximity. Was expecting the typical sleazy dive with disinterested staff. I was pleasantly surprised to find very, very good service, staff and ownership that really seemed to take an interest in things, clean rooms, and convenient shopping and dining close by. Very nice, would recommend!

"Not happy with Sleep Inn in Bakersfield"
When we checked in late in the evening, I had to explain that I had ALREADY paid for my rooms and did not want my credit card swiped again. The outside door to one of our rooms (we had 2 connecting rooms) did not lock properly, so they told us if we slammed it hard and lifted up on the door it would be okay. I didn't think that would be appreciated […] by other patrons who might be trying to sleep at 10:30 pm. We asked for another set of rooms. They did not have any other connecting rooms available, but were able to find 2 rooms next to each other. With 3 small children it was important for us to stay together. They insisted that the price was the same for the 2nd set of rooms, so I did not receive any consideration for having to make the move. Inside one of the rooms, it was hot and the thermostat did not work very well. We had to keep turning the fan off and on to maintain a decent temperature in the room. At first we tried to open the window, but the screen was falling off -- we didn't want bugs coming in so closed the window up again. The closet door had been ripped off its hinges, and wall paper was peeling on several walls. The bathroom was only marginally clean with grime evident in the corners, and there were tiles coming off the baseboard of the wall. It was evident that the toilet was not cleaned very well. Because it was so late when we arrived after a 14-hour drive, I just could not drag all the kids back to the car and go find another motel. I went to a nearby convenience store and bought some cleaning supplies for the bathroom instead. The breakfast was not very good. The juice was very watery, and the young gal trying to keep up with the food demand had her hands full. She should have had some help. The one good feature was great pillows and lots of them -- either that, or I was so exhausted from driving that I thought they were better than they actually were. Uzziniet vairāk

I stayed at the Sleep Inn in N. Bakersfield one night while I was traveling for business. I arrived hours before normal check-in time, but the manager looked for a room that was clean, found when the first room of the type that I had reserved would be ready, and within 30 minutes had me checked in. He really went out of his way for me, happily, even […] though I shouldn't have checked in until the afternoon. Great experience and a very comfortable hotel. I usually like Sleep Inn's but this was awful. Poor condition in largely commercial area. Paid extra for whirlpool tub for back and no stopper for tub. Low maintenance and cleanliness even for price
"Sleep Inn a clean quiet hotel"
Everytime I travel to Bakersfield on business I stay at the Sleep Inn. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean quiet and comfortable. The hotel does show some wear but is a very good value for the money.

I showed up about 15 minutes after calling and making a reservation. The clerk hadn't yet received my confirmation. She was dismissive and said "wait a few minutes and we'll see." She then helped another customer. When she finally got back to me, she gave me a room in a far corner of the hotel with no WI-FI reception. The neighborhood is bad. The breakfast […] looked horrible. "not 2.5 stars"
This hotel says it has a full breakfast and its the same old help yourself all cold stuff except for cold hard boiled eggs, some cold biscuits and some tasteless white gravy in a little crock pot. Not a cooked to order full breakfast at all. The hallway carpet is very worn and dirty. "Wouldn't recommend this hotel at all."
The free breakfast was horrible. The hot tub was very dirty and the neighborhood wasn't very safe in my opinion. People walking up and down the street all the time. Kind of strange area.

I was afraid this was going to be a dumpy hotel when I booked it, but I was traveling across the country with a cat, so my options were limited. I was pleasantly surprised! The furnishings in the room are not the highest quality, but it seemed fairly new and very clean. Breakfast included fresh Belgium waffles you could make yourself. The staff was friendly. "Not too pleasant a stay"
The room a/c was not functioning when we arrived, so after notifying the front desk, the clerk tried to make it work by replacing its circuit board from that of another room's a/c thermostat, to no avail. So she transferred us to another room and the air was working fine. The room was designated handicap accessible which is what we wanted since my wife […] is in a wheelchair. The bathroom had the required grab bars, but the sink was way too high for a person in a wheelchair to access. In the shower, the bracket for the hand-held shower head was broken, so you couldn't hang it to take your shower hands-free, the only way to take your shower was to have the shower head always in your hand. The mattresses in the room were on the soft side but that was really no problem. I thought the room's carpet was too thick for a handicap room; it made getting around in the wheelchair somewhat difficult. The thickness of commercial-grade carpeting should be used for accessible rooms. The continental breakfast the next morning was a joke. The orange juice was 90 percent water. The "fresh fruit" apples must have been at least a week old; their peels were wrinkling and soft. Other than the waffle maker and some muffins, there wasn't anything else to eat. Hotel.com's confirmation said there was not breakfast and not internet. Both were incorrect. They had a free Wall Street Journal. The motel is a little tricky to find in this part of Bakersfield but a good GPS will get you there. We had a king size bed in a handicap room. The bed was very nice.
"Not the worst"
I think I'd pick somewhere else next time. It's a little dirty feeling and since I'm a female traveling alone, I should have requested an upper floor. This place is in a culdesac of cheap motels. I didn't feel like it was horrible, but I didn't feel a 100% safe either.

Hotel is very dated with dirty stained carpet. The A/C was hard to figure out and the vent was right under window which blew curtains open. Food at breakfast was not the least bit appetizing and the waffle irons looked like they had not been cleaned in quite awhile. There was no one around at the front desk when I checked out. Great place to stay when you won't be spending a whole lot of time at the hotel. No pool or hot tub to hang out in. But if you just need it to sleep and get ready, perfect!

"Fine for the Price"
This hotel was decent. The bedding was clean and comfortable. There are no bells or whistles, but if you just need a place to sleep and shower on your travels, this is perfect. The breakfast items were somewhat limited but they fresh waffles were outstanding. I would stay here again.

I had recently stayed at another hotel fairly close to this and hated it... so moved over to this one. I was pleasantly surprised! The room was really comfortable with a nice desk and chair. Die Zimmer waren muffig, überall roch es nach Zigarrettenrauch- erst das 3. Zimmer war einigermassen ok ( das 1. war ein Raucherzimmer, obwohl wir ein Nichtraucherzimmer gebucht hatten. Im 2. Zimmer krachte das Bettende zusammen, beim aufs Bett sitzen..). Die Umgebung war nicht so toll, die Autobahn war direkt gegenüber, Einkaufs- und Essmöglichkeiten […] waren in der Nähe.
