Pirates Inn was a fallback option because I traveled at very short notice and couldn't find a room elsewhere. Name and pictures on the internet didn't sound and look great but I trusted the many good reviews and went along with it. Air condition is installed but you have to pay extra for it. Otherwise you have two fans blowing hot air. Its an insulting reminder that they couldn't care less about your comfort. Come up with the money or suffer like a dog. To make matters worse, the room is poorly designed for ventilitation with absolutely no windows. If the door is closed, you bake […] in the heat. Very competitively priced, nice room with kitchenette that is well stocked. All very clean, a bit old fashioned in decor. Close to beaches,shops and cafes. The Staff are warm and welcoming. In all we thought it was pretty nice and would stay there again.

The staff were very nice and the food was good. I didn't like that the room wasn't clean until late in the afternoon (3pm or after). I read other reviews and came armed with bug spray for the room. Which made the experience much more plesant.

We stayed at the Pirate Inn our first night in Barbados. Since it was our first time in Barbados, actually first time in the Caribbean, we were a little taken aback by the state of the neighborhood. The hotel is a little dated, but very clean and well situated just across the street from Accra beach which is a great family beach with easy surf and lots of pink sand. We ate at the Pirate's Inn restaurant and had possibly the best meal we ate on the island, even though we ate at much more expensive restaurants. The rum punch is the best we had and the pasta dishes and flying fish were excellent. We were scheduled to return at the end of our timeshare stay but cancelled just for the sake of simplicity. This hotel is an old style apartment hotel that used to be so common on the South Coast of Barbados. The help will do anything for you and are so pleasant and cheerful. There is complimentary WiFi. It is a one block walk to the ocean and the wonderful Promenade/boardwalk along the South Shore from Rockley/Accra Beach to Hastings Rock. There are all sorts of restaurants within a sort distance: KFC, Tapas, the eateries in Lanterns Plaza and Hastings Plaza which are 1/2 block in opposite directions from where Browne's Gap joins the Coast Road. Very clean. Offthe main road but only just. Next to the new shopping complex and not far from Oistins, St Lawrence Gap or Bridgetown. These are all accessible by buses or taxis

Overnight between cruise and early flight home to California next morning. Arrived 1.00 p.m. Told check-in at 3.00 p.m. Back at 3.00 p.m. no room ready. Eventually given a room at 5.00 p.m. by the manager Renee upon complaining, who said that check-in starts at 2.00 p.m. I was asked for a further US$10 for air conditioning, which I had not known about […] from Expedia and refused to pay, she fully understood. Paid deposit for in-room safe key. Room clean, but very old and worn out, whole place is! King bed is two singles pushed together! Hopeless shower with poor water pressure and NO HOT WATER! Receptionist said that restaurant open, turned up for dinner and found that restaurant had been closed all day! Plenty of eateries nearby - few mins walk. Booked wake-up call for 4.00 a.m. and received it at 4.45 a.m. when my taxi driver Ian arrived, who also works at the Inn and must have woken the receptionist! Local beach and boardwalk just few mins walk away, stunning! Hotel could be terrific if it got it's act together! Sweet place, nice staff but very old and crusty, EXCELLENT LOCATION FOR BEACH but way too disorganised and unreliable ... spoiled my stay! Owner needs to re-invest in this property to bring it and service actually to quoted star rating. I was only there for 12 hours, would hate to think what a day or more would be like. Uzziniet vairāk

We were very pleased by the friendliness and willingness to help of the staff. The initial impression of the building was not particularly good by US standards. But looks can be deceiving. The staff made our stay of one night so enjoyable. It is within a short walk of the boardwalk and beach. The room is an efficiency which allowed us to make tea.

Good value for money. Clean tidy simple rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff that clearly enjoy their work - receptionist there for 18 years. Manager friendly and efficient. Dealt with our query without fuss. 100 yards to road to catch buses/taxis to Bridgetown (20 mins). Another 50 yards to beach. Shopping malls with banks and eating places etc. […] within easy walking distance along that road. Pool a bit small (7 strokes per length) but it is 2/3 star. Definitely not enough loungers and space to put more out. If you did not claim one before 6.30am you might as well go out for the day! The folks at Pirate's Inn go out of their way to assist you with your stay. The only thing I can say that needs to be addressed is the fact that air conditioning is extar, and should be offered when booking the room (extra US$10/day.)

The room was spacious and clean. It came with a fridge, microwave, toaster oven and stove. Had the feel of an efficiency apartment. There are some important details to note. To make overseas calls you need to purchase a phone card from the front desk, and a/c is an extra $10.00. Great for a family trying to save on restaurants.

The location can't be beat with shops, (grocery and otherwise) and beaches all within walking distance. Barbados ist nun mal eine teure Insel und im Vergleich stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis halbwegs. Es ist sauber, aber hat definitiv schon bessere Zeiten gesehen. Es liegt relativ zentral, aber mit der Umgebung verhält es sich ähnlich wie mit dem Hotel: herunter gekommen.
