Barcelo Costa Ballena Golf Spa — Rota

Super hotel, great for golfers but not for swimmers at this time of year.,pool freezing and weather windy!!

It was low season and there was hardly anyone at the hotel or in the area. The service from all the employees, especially the restaurant and bar staff, was exceptional. Very friendly and concerned with service and making sure we had everything we needed. However the front desk crew did not speak English which made it hard to communicate. The food at […] the breakfast buffet was average, sometimes just luke warm. But always a good variety to choose from. We did not eat dinner at the hotel. The lobby and bar area is very nice and appears to been fairly newly remodeled. The rooms have not been. The walls in the room was dirty, the bedding is old and very worn. The walls are very thin so you hear everything that is going on around your room. The leg fell off our bed and we had to move out of our room for one night until they could come fix it the next day. The staff never apologized to us for the inconvenience. There is only one English speaking channel available on the TV (BBC). The walk to the beach is very short and we could see the ocean just past the golf course from our room, great sunsets from our room and the bar area. If you are a golfer (which we are not) the golf course was just a few minute walks away. Being slow season the buses were running on a limited schedule. So getting into and returning form Rota was a bit of an inconvenience. We were not happy at all with the gym. The hours are extremely limited (they open at 10 am and close from 2-5 for siesta, they were closed on Mondays and very limited weekend hours. The Internet seemed to be down at least once a day. Checked in for a four day holiday, Friday-Monday in May. The hotel was very busy for a off season stay. Friday & Saturday the Breakfast and Dinner was great. Breakfast was hot with plenty to choose and Dinner, Buffet style with 3 meats a poultry and fish to choose from. However, on Sunday the crowds left and the dinner was order "off the menu". The […] serving portions were very, very small without any sides just a meat choice. The food situation was better during the weekend. For your stay get the breakfast and dinner added in to your room only if your there for the weekend otherwise add in breakfast and walk the .5 miles to the outdoor resturants that were great for lunch too. Stay was nice and relaxing, walls are very thin so if your getting away from the kids for the weekend ask the front desk for a secluded room. En el spa, comenzamos con diez minutos de retraso y luego quince minutos antes de la hora nos invitaron a ir abandonando las instalaciones, por tanto no era lo que habiamos contratado que eran dos horas. En el buffet de cena llegabamos a la 21 horas, las bandejas que estaban casi vacias no eran repuestas, y a las 22:15 ya estaban recogiendo toda la […] comida, cuando el horario era hasta las 22:30, entiendo que el hotel esté más orientado a los extranjeros (sobre todo alemanes), pero los españoles no estamos acostumbrados a cenar a las 19 horas, y deberian pensar en eso. El servicio es estupendo,desde la recepción asta las camareras de piso.Me encanto la animación que uvo durante todos los dias, los animadores son super deveria aver todo el año animación no solo en verano. El bufer esta muy bien ,para todo tipo de gustos y me gusto mucho que te asian la carne o el pescado al momento delante de uno. Tambien veo que nesecitaria […] un buen pintado to el hotel .En los corredores de las habitaciones olian un poco a poseta, pero no tan mál.El spa me decepciono muchisimo,no me esperaba la poca informacion que se les da a sus clientes sobre las normas y constumbres.Te voy a poner un ejemplo,yo no sabia que avia que llevar gorros , si lo huviese sabido no me huvieran cobrado 3€ cada gorros.El spa es muy bonito ,muy pijo ,pero como el spa de playaballena o el de Senator de Cádiz ninguno asta ahora que yo vaya ido.Para gusto colores? al principio de la estancia, que si la habitacion no esta terminada, te cambio por que tiene carcoma ect. las tarjetas se desactivan con facilidad y nos mandaron al modulo 4 que esta lejisimo de la recepcion y que si te coje lloviendo vas por la calle, la falta de accesorios de cuarto de baño. el comedor fenomenal, pero la cerveceza caliente siendo […] los precios de la bebida carisimo, pero en general bien. Las instalaciones no están mal, y las playas estupendas, pero la comida NO ES DE UN 4 ESTRELLAS. Cuando contraté la habitación prometian bañera de hidromasaje Y ES MENTIRA. Bueno si buscan tranquilidad, tanto en el hotel como en los alrrededores a las 12 ya está todo cerrado

HACIA AÑOS QUE NO PARABAMOS EN COSTA BALLENA Y NOS SORPRENDIDO GRATAMENTE EL HOTEL Y SU ENTORNO , Y COMO NO LA PLAYA ... LA HABITACION PERFECTA ,BUEN BUFET , LOS EMPLEADOS MUY AGRADABLES , TODAS LAS HABITACIONES DAN AL CAMPO DE GOLF , Y A LA PISCINA... OS RECOMENDAMOS QUE OS ALQUILEIS UNAS BICICLETAS , YA QUE COSTA BALLENA TIENE CARRILES BICI, SALIENDO […] A MANO DERECHA , DIRECCION A LA PLAYA TENEIS UN CHIRINGUITO LLAMADO ESCUELA DE CATAMARAN O ALGO ASI ... Hola, me remito a decirles, que los dos dias trascurridos en el hotel han sido maravillosos, sobretodo en el trato personal. Gracias ,por ser tan humanos.

henos estado solo 2 noches, pero todo ha ido muy bien, si volvemos por la zona, lo tenemos seguro un saludo desde Torre Del Mar

Un rapport qualité/prix indépassable, un petit déjeuner inclus, rare en Espagne, excellent, copieux ... Mais nous pensions être à Cadiz et nous en étions distants de 50 km. Sans quoi, pour ceux qui privilégient le golf, la plage, situation rêvée. Ce n'est malheureusement pas notre cas.

Points à améliorer : la préparation des cocktail au bar les buffets du déjeuner et diner (moyen).
