"Works for what I needed"
The Ascot isn't a 4 star hotel but it works for what I needed. I need a place near the beach and Tropicana and this place was perfect. I wouldn't spend a week here but for a night or two it works :)
"If it weren't for the location...."
As my wife put it, she though we were at the Bates Motel. It was dirty, moldy, and just plain old gross. Towels were like sandpaper, no iron or board nor a hair dryer... all amenities that hotels we have stayed at in the past consider stardard. This is a place to sleep and sleep only and they didn't even use fitted sheets...just sheets on sheets, extremely […] unsanitary. It's singular convenience is the location which was across the street from the Trop and right by the boardwalk. "It served its purpose"
Very noisy a couple of nights around 4:30am with people yelling and breaking chairs. The broken chair was thrown onto the pool cover from four stories up. Motel staff didn't do anything about it at all even after calling. Also the furniture is very old and busted. However, motel staff was nice and a very convenient location next to the Tropicana. We […] were trying to save a few bucks by staying at a cheaper place. I would just spend the extra money and stay somewhere decent. "The Ascot, atalntic City"
I stayed to days at the Ascot with my fiance, would I stay there again yes if its just us would not recommend for families. Bring your own towels as we did, your own tolietries, and we also brung are own pillows. "Not bad for a hotel by a Casino!"
I have to be honest. We usually stay at the Tropicana. We ended up staying because Tropicana was totally booked. Hotel is very old, but very clean. Room was freshly painted. Our mattress was in need of replacement. There were springs popping out. Chair was uncomfortable, but the room was clean. Front desk staff was very nice. "Get what you pay for."
The guy let me check in early (11 am) and didnt charge me. The room was cheap for over the weekend and it smelled a little like smoke even though i requested a smoke-free room. Other than that i didnt spend much time in the room because i was out having fun not spending my time layin around in my room. If you want nice amenities this is not the place. "You will be pleasantly surprised"
Took my daughter and son-n-law away for anniversary to Tropicana for weekend, and it was a holiday weekend. The Tropicana wanted SO MUCH a night, so went online found Ascot, reviews were not great but I thought we will be spending most time at Tropicana we just need a place to sleep. Wow! The rooms were spacious, clean, I got 2 rooms with King Beds, […] and they were comfortable with CLEAN sheets. The microwave and fridge worked as did the heater! It was about 30 degrees out and the room was toasty warm when turned in for evening. Free Parking is a BIG plus. I would recommend this to anyone that needs a night near the Tropicana, or any other casino in vicinity, the Jitneys(little buses for a coulpe bucks) are everywhere and for the price a night on a Saturday plus holiday weekend saving hundreds, I would hop on a Jitney and see every site in AC there is for ALL the money I saved by not staying at the pricey Tropicana or the other Casinos which were more in price. "Short Sweet and To the Point"
As everyone else has been saying this Hotel is NOT the lap of luxury. However it was directly across the street from the Tropicana which is where I had concert tickets. The king bed was clean and comfortable and the cable TV and the heat worked thru the night after a cut off or two, burnt out wire or something.. I found the overall decor old and a bit […] laughable but I guess you can tip that to them keeping the original design of the 60's. The color plastic hangers were a hoot. Unfortunately I HATED the bathroom. We had a peice of paper that doubled as a bath mat. The wash clothes and towels were so thin you could see through them, the shower water wasn't really that hot and all the repairs such as the plaster doors, walls or bathroom tiles looked like the hotel made repairs just to get by. The fridge was big. So considering the price and location this hotel was doable for the reason I was there. "standard flea bag hotel"
the 1st room they gave us the door would not lock. also when you turned the door handle it unlocked the dead bolt too. the hotel where very good about getting us a 2nd room right away. the 2nd room was good up until my wife was resting her arm on sick while sitting the on the toilet, the sink fall of the wall and broken on the floor. it was 2 am and […] we did not want to move again so we decided to want until check out to tell the staff. of the piping to the sink was not working right so i was unable to completely turn off the water to the sink and there was a leak after the turn off valve. so in the morning the floor was covered in water towels and bed sheets. great placement because we saw the show at the tropicanna and it was across the street Uzziniet vairāk

This hotels was so close to the nightclubs that it made our girls getaway a fantastic time! I would definitely go back!

This hotel was right across the street from the big Tropicana casino and boardwalk and therefore in a perfect location. "Not that bad"
We got locked out of the room because of the door malfunctioning right before the concert, so we couldnt chage our clothes we bought for it.
"Scary place and bad management"
We booked this place for one night in AC figuring it wouldnt be too bad- dont go here! Shady place, BAD management and feels unsafe- the chain lock in the door was broken and the heater didnt work. Choose another option...the Econo Lodge right down the street was comparably priced and ALOT nicer!

"Not Bad"
I was a little worried about staying here but I'm a local and I've seen improvements so I decided to give it a try for a last min girls night out. Room wasn't that bad it was def outdated but worth the value. I would def come back again, in fact I am planning to next month. You can't beat the price and the location (right next to thr trop)
"Heater didn't work"
Just needed a place to crash but heater woes in December meant for a horrible night!
The room had a terrible smell, and the bathtube was so dirty we could't have a shower after going to the Casino. The only thing that's good in this place is that it's really close to Tropicana. Otherwise, it would have been a total waste of money.

Great price for the location - right beside Tropicana. Friendly staff. Decent room with comfy beds. The neighborhood is loud at night and you can hear it from the room.

Location is fantastic! It's an older motel but the room was clean (we brought extra sheets, just in case). "Basic"
I couldn't get a reservation at the Tropicana and that's where the rest of my party was staying. It's right across the street, and I didn't intend to spend any time in the room except sleeping. It's a little seedy, but I didn't have any problems there. The elevator smelled like urine. "Ascot Motel-Nice for the price"
We stayed two nights, our first time in Atlantic City. The location was a bit noisy, but that's the city, not the motel. It is an older motel that you can tell they have tried to update. The bathrooms are "lost in the 50's". The rooms themselves are updated pretty well. The exterior could use some paint, BUT for clean sheets and comfortable beds, you […] couldn't ask for a better deal so close to the Boardwalk. The employees were very friendly and accomodating. We had an issue with the A/C and the maintainence man made it to the room before I got back from the front desk!
