INN BY THE SEA — Cape Elizabeth

Our 3 day stay at Inn by the Sea, from the point of arrival to departure was a fantastic and memorable experience. All members of staff from the receptionists, waiters, bellboys were warm, friendly, and extremely helpful at all times. The room/apartment was immaculate, spacious and perfect to our needs- it was great to have the creature comforts of […] a home rather than just a standard hotel- ie contemporary and neutral decor, fridge, microwave, kettle, very large bathtub, selection of towels etc. It was also wonderful to devour the gorgeous toiletries in the shower especially after the long evening drive to the hotel on our first night. it was a wonderful to wake up and find a gorgeous view from our patio area looking out onto the hotel gardens and distant view of Crescent beach. The setting and surroundings of the hotel (gardens and short walk to Crescent beach) are idyllic and provided a perfect place for us to chill out as it was the last leg of our 14 day vacation to the US (as coming from the UK). The stretch of beaches are sandy. perfectly clean and picturesque and we took advantage and made early morning jogs and numerous walks along the shoreline. Having had a fun, yet very hot , humid and chaotic week sightseeing in New York City we wanted a place to relax, reflect and unwind. The climate was perfect for what we enjoy and needed- bright sunny days with cool breezes -great for early June. We thought it was a lovely and unique touch, upon returning to the apartment on an evening, for the rooms to be lit, soft music playing and tasty sweet treats to be left. It would have been lovely to have taken advantage of some of the spa treatments but not at those costly prices. The high standard, beauty and location of the hotel is worth driving the extra miles to get to, and is a ideal to explore surrounding areas that are approximately a maximum 1 hour drive away. The Inn provided us with a good base to visit nearby places such as Portland, Freeport, Kennebunkport and O Uzziniet vairāk

My husband and I rarely travel so we wanted to spoil ourselves for our 20th wedding anniversary. The staff could not have been more friendly. One could tell that they are genuine people who enjoy their jobs. We also splurged on spa treatments and enjoyed the environment and the treatments immensely. We would have loved it if it was just a bit closer […] to the ocean but that is the only thing I would change. We stayed in one of the two level King Spa suites. We stayed only for a night and did not use the spa services. There was still snow on the ground but it was a beautiful experience. The room was so spacious, clean and omg, the ocean view right from my bed. I can only imagine what this place is like when the weather is warmer. All at an incredible price, what a deal!

We had a wonderful stay for our babymoon weekend. We went with another couple, and were treated wonderfully the whole weekend. The staff was very welcoming. The room was beautiful! We were in a double-level spa suite, it was very roomy, the kitchen was a plus and the bathroom was huge. I even tried out the bathtub which was very nice. Everything extremely […] clean. The products they give you in the bathroom are top notch. Pluses all around. My husband thought there would be more of an ocean view, and the ocean was a bit of a walk for preggos in the snow/ice/slush, so we did not make it. But, it is Maine and I thought it was just perfect. The ladies went to the spa on Saturday. What a gorgeous place. Very quiet. My massage was great, the robes were comfy and I could have sat in their little waiting room for two days if they let me. I am sad I missed the experience shower. We ate two breakfasts there, and one dinner. It was expensive, but really good. For breakfast $5 for orange juice was a bit much, and they charge you $3 for coffee, meanwhile you are staring at the free coffee that you can get at the bar just a few feet away... so that was bothersome, but the food was very good and the service was the best. Dinner was amazing, I had the risotto with lobster and the peanut butter dessert was over the top. My husband loved the meat sauce for his pasta, but since they rave about their homemade gnocchi there he assumed the pasta would be homemade too. So that was a bummer, but all else was great. Only downside was it is a pet friendly hotel. Don't get me wrong, I have two dogs and I love them, and there was a time when I would have loved to bring them along. But, we came to get away from the dogs and child #1 and sadly our room was sandwiched between two pet friendly rooms. There was barking at all hours which was a bummer, but I was too relaxed to really complain. If you are sensitive to that stuff, just request to be away from the pet rooms ahead of time, otherwise you w Uzziniet vairāk

After a week of travelling from Portland to Cape Cod to Boston and back for our 6th anniversary, we ended our vacation with a wonderful, romantic stay at Inn by the Sea. We were very touched by the little service details. We checked in very late and mentioned we were too tired to have a drink at the bar but we had brought a bottle of wine. Within 5 […] minutes of being in our room, room service showed up with two wine glasses for us (without even asking). We were also greeted in our room by two little marshmallows dipped in chocolate and nuts. We had a wonderful dinner in our room overlooking the ocean then they came by for nightly turndown service which brings with it some very tasty cookies (and chocolates for the pillows). By the way, of all the hotels we were in, this one by far had the most comfortable and luxurious bed and the bathroom was huge! Unfortunately the weather the next day did not cooperate so we did some exploring around Portland (LL Bean Outlet Store), had a wonderful lunch at DiMillo's in the harbour, took some beautiful shots at the Portland Head Light of the lighthouse and rugged coastline. This is a great location, quiet but only 10 - 15 mins from the Portland harbour. The grounds are beautifully maintained - the flowers are gorgeous. We walked down to the beach along the boardwalk and around the grounds just to admire and smell the beautiful flowers each day (even at night). Both mornings we had a wonderful breakfast in the dining room. I highly recommend the lobster benedict. The second night we had a fabulous 5-star meal in the dining room. I had the duck breast and my husband had the filet mignon. I know, odd not to be eating seafood in Maine, but we had eaten seafood all week (as recently as breakfast!). Our meal was incredible as was the beautiful bottle of Barolo (the wine list is spectacular). Located about 15 minutes outside of Portland, the Inn By The Sea is a hidden jewel. The entire resort has recently been renovated and the results are luxurious. We stayed in a two bedroom cottage with every amenity imaginable including delicious cookies left in your room each evening. The Inn sits on a sweeping lawn that overlooks the ocean. A charming […] trails leads to a secluded beach. The Inn is dog friendly. Although we traveled without our dog other guests told us that upon arrival there were dog dishes, blankets and towels in the room. Even the canine guests received a treat at turndown. The Inn is a green facility. We attended a wedding that was held on the property and I could not imagine a more perfect setting. This is also an ideal spot for a weekend getaway. Uzziniet vairāk
