Wonderful old hotel - bathroom small but that is what you get with a 600 year old building!

great location, good coffee , nice breakfast- all good. the teeny room was a downer for us....the rugged and the masochistic may find it quite attractive. Room was clean enough....there are other options in the area these days and the value needs to go up for Golden Ente to be competitive

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location was outstanding, and the woman that ran the hotel did an excellent job of making me feel comfortable, and doing everything she could to help me enjoy my stay in Salzburg. I can't imagine staying anywhere else!

Although the Goldener Ente is located on a street which only allows pedestrian traffic, the location is convenient to multiple public parking areas. Our visit was during the annual Oktoberfest festival and the location was absolutely prime for such an event. The center of all activity was within 20 steps of the door and the atmosphere was incredible. […] The breakfast was one of the best we experienced in 2 weeks of Germany & Austria travels and the hospitality of the staff was exceptional. I liked this hotel even though there was a litte noise from the elevator. My room had a lovely corner bench & table. The bathroom was a little dated but perfectly functional. The location is by far the best thing as it's bang in the centre of the old part of the town from where you can pretty much walk everywhere (quite safely too). Parking was quite […] a way away though so if you have luggage, it may be difficult to get it to the door as the hotel is in a pedestrian zone. Uzziniet vairāk

Good Location, reasonable price, friendly and helpful staff. No air conditioning, no fan. Luckily the weather was cool, we left window open for some air circulation. If the weather had been warmer, it would have been very uncomfortable.

Not a modern hotel, by any means, but a quaint old world hotel within walking distance of every important sight.

At Sunday when we arrive, I ask about if would check out on Monday noon. Women said me ok. When arrive to Hotel on Monday 11:50 AM, I met my baggs out the room, in the restaurant. The key car inside my bagg (one person put in my private bagg!!). The woman boss not give sorry, only speak en germany. This hotel is very old and quaint. Bed was not comfortable, but was worth the trade-off for the great location and very helpful manager. The restaurant in the hotel had great service and the food was excellent!

We had a great experience at this hotel. It was becuase of the staff. The women who run the hotel were so friendly and helpful..even suggesting that we feel free to put our wine in the kitchen refrigerator. It is in a great location in the old town, right amongst everything. We would definately recommend this hotel. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Goldene Ente. The manager was very nice and extremely helpful. The beds are comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was included and was the standard Austrian/German breakfast. There is a restaurant below the hotel and the food there is very good also. The only downside was we had a room facing the street which overlooks […] the restaurant's outdoor cafe. People lingered there until later in the evening after 11:00 pm when we were trying to sleep. There is no air conditioning so we had to have the window open as it was warm. We also found that some people will come and use their chairs at 3:00 am and talk and carry on loudly. The women that ran the hotel were extremely friendly and accommodating. This small, old hotel ( with remodeled rooms) was charming and right in the center of the old city. The breakfasts were wonderful. It did not have some of the ammenities that you get in a 5-star hotel, but we didn't find that necessary. Would love to stay at Zur Goldenen Ente a […] gain. Hotel liegt perfekt um die Altstadt Salzburgs zu erkunden. Sehr freundliches Personal. Hotelzimmertüren schlecht gedämmt, dadurch teilweise sehr laut. Das Zimmer war sehr klein, daher nur für Kurzaufenthalt geeignet.

Mit unserem Aufenthalt in der "Goldenen Ente" sind wir sehr zufrieden. Die Hotelchefin und das Personal waren sehr freundliche und hilfsbereit, auch das Frühstück war sehr gut. Das Hotel würden wir bei der nächsten Salzburgreise wieder buchen.

Das Hotel Goldene Ente in Salzburg liegt mitten in der Altstadt. Die Zimmer sind klein, vor allem das Bad bietet wenig Raum. Der Service, die Sauberkeit und die Ambiance sind sehr gut. Für einen Stadtbummel oder einen Business-Aufenthalt sehr geeignet.

Vårt opphold i Østerike starta i Salzburg. Valget av Goldene Ente var ut frå å sjå denne byen som er på "verdensarvlista" i Europa. Mottakelsen vi fekk den kvelden vi ankom, gjer at vi gjerne kjem tilbake dit ved ein seinare anledning. Beste helsing Norsk ektepar på landbruks-studiereise i Østerike M. Aukan

Vi valgte dette hotellet etter å ha lest anmeldelsen på hotels.com. Vi fant oss ett parkeringshus og gikk til hotellet. Etter litt frem og tilbake fant vi hotellet, midt i en smal koselig gate. Standaren på hotellet er vel litt slitt men koselig og rent.Vi fikk ett rom med himmelseng.Det viktigste for oss på byferie er beliggenhet,beliggenhet og her […] var det perfekt ,med gåavstand til det meste . Hotel im Großen und Ganzen für Städtetripp zu empfehlen, da sehr zentral gelegen und alles bequem zu Fuß erreichbar ist. Rezeptionsdamen sehr freundlich. Essen im Restaurant sehr gut und Personal dort auch sehr freundlich und professionell. Minuspunkt ist, dass die Zimmer sehr spartanisch eingerichtet und auch ziemlich klein sind. Das Bad dagegen war […] verhältnsimäßig groß, aber keine Halterungen für Hand- und Duschtücher und auch keine Duschwand oder Duschvorhang vorhanden. Daher stand das Bad nach dem Duschen unter Wasser. Hier sollte Abhilfe geschaffen werden. Kann ja auch eigentlich nicht so schwierig und vor allem auch nicht teuer sein, ein paar Handtuchhalterungen und eine Duschabtrennung oder einen Vorhang anzubringen. Uzziniet vairāk

Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit bei Fragen.

Ho scelto questo hotel per la sua posizione e per il rapporto qualità prezzo e sono rimasta molto soddisfatta. La camera è semplice ma molto pulita, la colazione buona e l'accoglienza della signora Ulrike davvero calorosa. Abbiamo cenato nella locanda dell'hotel e la consigliamo vivamente per il rapporto qualità prezzo.

Vi hadde dessverre bare en overnatting på dette sjarmerende hotellet, midt i gamlebyen i vakre Salzburg. Det lå i en trang gate uten adkomst for bil som vi hadde, men vi fant etter litt om og men fram til et parkeringshus. Hotellet har satt opp et skilt ved innkjøringen til bydelen, men den kom for brått på, og det ble litt kjøring fram og tilbake for […] å finne fram. Men det var den eneste negative opplevelsen vi hadde. Vi ble tatt i mot varmt og overstrømmende av Ulrike som oppgraderte oss fra et standard dobbeltrom til hotellets suite i øverste etasje (og med ensjarmerende liten takterrasse) til samme pris. Vi fikk kart og sjokolade og anvisninger. Frokosten ble neste morgen servert av samme Ulrike som fløy fra bord til bord og serverte ønsket kaffe til hver nkelt fra sin kaffemaskin. I første etasje ligger en restaurant/kro med samme navn som serverte gode østerriske spesialiteter. Både den og hotellet anbefales på det varmeste. Mange hyggelige kafeer/spisesteder, gode muligheter for shopping rett rundt hjørnet for hotellet, og pittoreske bygninger overalt. Vi vil ellers anbefale å overvære en forestilling med Salzburger Marionettentheater, marionettedukker som framfører opera. Uzziniet vairāk

Hotellet har en helt ok standard, ikke WLAN - det er et minus. De har en god restaurant i gateplan og ikke minst har de en super beliggenhet midt i altstadt i Salzburg.
