My room was very very small but it was comfortable, clean and had all the same amenities as a larger room. If you are traveling with more than one person be sure to check which room you are getting and how large it is. I had a great time at the Jared Coffin House. the hosts and front desk people were very helpful and nice. The hotel is beautiful, and the location is great, very close the hy-line ferry wharf. only problem I had was that the bed was a little to loud, if you know what i'm saying. This historic inn was a treat to be able to stay at for such a great price. Nantucket is pretty exclusive, NYC rates basically for lodging. So finding an off season rate was great. The room was nice and the staff was very pleasant. I spent my Easter weekend here as a last minute getaway and enjoyed the island community for their Easter celebrations. "Restaurant at the Jared Coffin."
The restaurants at the Jared Coffin have definitely gone downhill in the past few years. There used to be a wonderful pub in the basement and that closed in 2005. I was looking forward to a nice seafood salad on the patio but the patio was not open and was under repair and they no longer serve that salad. Instead there is one restaurant and that is […] Chinese. I don't know many people who go to Nantucket for Chinese food! Also the restaurant is totally void of any atmosphere.
