Boathouse on Kata Beach — Phuket

The Boathouse is at best a 4 star hotel in a great location. Their restaurant is good, but very ....very over priced compared to the surrounding beach restaurants. No question, Kata beach is one of the best beaches I've been, but the staff could help in cleaning some of the garbage that gets washed up. Only after I mentioned the amount of garbage on […] the beach to the staff, then they cleaned it up. I don't understand with such surrounding beauty, they wouldn't take better care of their beach, which I'm sure is the main reason anyone stays at the Boathouse. had a great stay at the Boathouse! its beautiful, and you can walk right out onto the beach. breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were wonderful, and staff was very nice. however, we found out later that the tour we booked through the hotel was way more expensive than booking at other places. overall, a good stay, but expensive.

This hotel has the nicest beach-front area on Kata with umbrella chairs and tucked at the end of the bay, a bit more serene location. My husband & I selected The Boathouse for our holiday as it is located at Kata Beach which is not the night club hot spot of Phuket. We couldn't flaw the staff who served our daily breakfast and those at the restaurant, spa and maintaining the beach lounges - just fantastic. Our flight home did not leave until 8:30pm and although we had to vacate our […] room at noon, the staff at The Boathouse continued to provide excellent service, including very comfortable showering facilities after we had lounged by the pool for the afternoon. We only have one negative comment about The Boathouse: they insist on playing the same droning 'elevator muzac' (every song with the same monotonous tempo) in the outdoor bar area until 11:00 - 12:00 every night at a very loud level. Every room on the same side of the hotel has to endure that noise every single night. If we'd wanted to listen to music until very late at night, we would have booked a hotel in Patong! Bad concierge, no understanding of English Deceptive advertising beach access rms require going thru pool area and eating area...NO privacy 6 feet from public pool area.
