There's nothing wrong with this hotel as such, but it really is a little bit off. Sometimes it's nice to be out of the city centre if you get to experience a nice rate, you might consider it, but you also need to count on quite a few taxi rides...

Very good hotel, clean and efficient. Very helpful staff. Hotel was quite a distance from the city centre but the tram line was only 5 minutes walk away and the bus stop even closer. The neighbourhood was quite industrial but hotel was quiet and very little noise, even with room windows open. Very good Wellness centre in hotel and pool and gym. WestCord is an awesome hotel, a tad pricy, but worth the quality...great room service, and mostly friendly staff...besides being accused of smoking in my room, by a manager that said he seen me smoking outside on the terrace (where smoking is permissible) 4 minutes before the fact, which was cigarette, and not the marijuana he accused me of smoking, […] saying there was a strong scent of marijuana, which I couldn't smell. But I had an awesome birthday there, I got a drink voucher, compliments of the hotel, in the Skyy Bar which was cool, they have the best bartenders. But overall, even with the false accusations, I will most likely stay again, the next time I visit AMS. Will recommend Uzziniet vairāk

great days in a comfortable room. You only need to be aware of the right tram station to exit.....

We stayed in the Westcord Fashion Hotel at the end of February, I could not fault this beautiful hotel. The staff on the reception were friendly and offered directions and maps when we asked and checked if we were enjoying our stay throughout. The room was very big, clean and comfortable and had a selection of English films available on the TV. Great hotel. The Gym, Massage, Pool and Bar are truly exceptional. - Air Con in the room is week. - No Iron in the room - Mini-Bar wasn't stocked. - Building fire alarm went off and message was in Dutch. It should have been in English. - No obvious recycling policy.

little far from coffee shops and down town but great hotel over all,,, they have winter specials that i will be back for,,,the spa pool is very relaxing,,,although girl was tiny rude at beginning ,,, she warmed up later on ..it was tiny bit pricey,,, but well worth it and staff was very friendly,,,I WILL STAY THERE AGAIN!! \m/.

As a first timer booking a hotel online I was very impressed that the images you see on the website are identical to what you find in the hotel. Staff is very friendly and were very helpful. I would stay there again.

well the location isn't all that great but it's only one stop away from the airport. besides not having a great location the staff is great and helpful.

Used this as a base for a long break to Amsterdam. The hotel itself and the staff were very good and as a business hotel (it is surrounded by office block) it would be fine. However, for a leisure break, it is let down by a couple of things. Firstly, the cost - meals, drinks and breakfast (€17 each) were expensive given it is not in the middle of Amsterdam. […] And that leads me on to the second (major) issue for this type of break. It is well served by the number 1 and 17 trams but.... they are a good 10 minute walk away through poor lighting, under bridges, and across road works. And then the tram journey takes approx 15 to 20 minutes, sometimes standing up. If you need to pop back to the hotel during the day, you can spend 90 mins travelling which may mean that a much more central location is a better alternative (even if the hotels aren't as nice). Amazing hotel, loved our room. The gym and pool area was great too, excepted for the man who worked in the gym. Who yelled at us and told us we could not be in there, we had to explain we were guest of the hotel, he went on and on about how this was a private club. But we were Guest! One recommendation, if you were going to have someone working behind […] the front desk at this private gym, make sure he is not allowed to excise while on the job. i stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and had a great time , The hotel was lovely and i would recommend it to all my friends .

Out of the way. The area is still being developed (summer 2011), so perhaps it will develop in to a nice town, but right now, it is "off the beaten track" in most touristy lines of thought. Otherwise though, it was fine. Clean and decent sized rooms.

The Fitness centre with swimming pool is excellent.

the only problem i found with the hotel was dat the tram stop was 10min walk away,not handy wen the heavens open and ur trying to get into the city for some fun,the art hotel on the other side of the city is much better situated i think,there is a bus stop rite outside dat 1,other than that the staff were very helpful and friendly,plus the bar on the […] 11th floor has a good view. I though roughly enjoy my stay at the WestCord Fashion Hotel. It is very clean, modern and has a lovely finishing touch to it. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, yes maybe it's a little expensive but it's definitely worth it because you will have a better experience of Amsterdam...5+++++++++

Not bad overall but far from the centre

Hotel is a perfect location, not central but 10 minutes tram ride into the centre so not too busy or noisy. Added to this is that the hotel is 10 minutes train ride from the airport followed by a short walk. Staff were great, facilities excellent and hotel prices were very reasonable.

I don't have much experience staying in posh hotels so can't compare this one against others. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and of a good size. Bed was huge and very comfortable (on the soft side). Easy to get into the centre of Amsterdam. Niggling issues: the shower water leaked into the separate toilet room, […] flooding it. Our oom was right by the door to the corridor and everytime is shut our door rattled loudly which was very annoying. The air con was nigh on useless. I have been staying at this hotel on and off for the past 3 months as I have been working in Amsterdam. The staff at both reception and restaurant are extremely helpful polite and professional. They make you feel very welcome which is nice if you in Amsterdam on business. The food in the restaurant is excellent and very well presented. The breakfast […] is also very good and what I would expect for the price - some hotels can charge you excessively for a very meagre breakfast offering. The hotel itself is wonderful - great staff, comfortable, modern well designed room. Excellent bed, many channels on cable TV. I arrived on my birthday and was very nicely surprised with a bottle of wine to my room- a very touching gesture! The location is good for exploring Holland by car, as it is on the A10. We had no problem parking on the street […] near the hotel (parking meter from 0900-2100, after that no need). To Amsterdam center -10 min walk to tram, quite deserted area near the hotel. I recently stayed at the westcord fashion hotel for 4 nights with my partner. As soon as we arrived in the afternoon everything went perfectly. The receptionist was very friendly and checked us in with no problems. We could not fault anything about our room, and the bed is the comfiest bed i've ever slept in! Only problem may be if your not in a couple […] as the bathroom door is glass and so is the shower. The bath is lovely, very deep! All around the hotel looked absolutely fab. There is a tram stop about 5 minutes away which takes you into central in about 10 mins, very cheap and frequent! The drinks and food in the bar was a little expensive but well worth the money. There is a good selection of food, im usually the fussiest eater but it was delicious! And to top it all off, the last night we stayed was my birthday, we went out through the day and on our return there was a bottle of wine, two glasses and a little note to say happy birthday, I thought that was lovely of them. Very modern looking hotel, rooms excellent, large bright and airy with very modern clean decor. Downside of my last visit, leak in shower, could not use for a day and a half. hotel just a letter left in my room. Also trying to find the number for room service, it's not there, you have to ring reception and they put you through. I stayed at this hotel with my partner for one night. We actually drove to Amsterdam from the UK, however the hotel was very easy to find about a minute from exit S106 (off the ring road). The hotel itself was fairly pricey for parking so there was a Park & Ride car park situated about 2mins from the hotel which was a more affordable option. They also […] gave you a free return tram ticket for each person in the car! The hotel itself was very nice; the staff were very friendly and the hotel had excellent decor. The rooms were spacious with a lovely ensuite facility. There was also numerous fitness/health facilities available however due to a lack of time we were unable to use these facilties. We went up to the SKY bar (a 10th floor restaurant/cocktail bar) which had lovely views of the city but was fairly pricey! The hotel itself was not situated in the heart of the city. It was about a 5/6min tram ride away from Leidseplein and roughly a 15min tram ride from central station, however the trams come frequently so was not too much of an issue. The only thing you have to vary of is that the last tram is at around 12:30am otherwise the only other option is walk/taxi. Overall the hotel is a good one. We really liked the interior design approach - very modern and sleek. The problem we had was the location. It was not as close to the central part of the city as expected. We did not rent a car and had to depend on public transportation, which was fine. However, there was a strike the next day, and that caused a major […] change to our plans. Therefore, we would not recommend to others. The hotel with a so called trendy decoration is managed by totally unexperienced people and thus, no right answers is given to simple question. Therefore any small issue can become a problem. The bathroom tubes were jammed (with water coming back by the shower and very bad smell), we've been told it was in the design of the system (dont take room 205) […] and nothing can be done except spraying a perfume and change our room as soon as they have availability. I wanted to park outside as the neighborhood seemed quite, it was more convenient and less expansive (hotel park = 25 EUR/day) but I've been told it cost 5EUR/hour in the street including during the night which was totally wrong (2,4 EUR/h only from 9am to 9pm). We've asked about the sauna availability as advised in their brochure : the receptionist replied "I don't know, go there and see if any availability" : it is a shared sauna 1 roof under ! she probably never seen it. The sheets were unchanged in 4 days, the small fridge made an awful noise at night and the maid replugged it everyday... Only one guy has been smiling and professional during breakfast, seemingly in his 40ies ans thus probably more skilled. All in all, this is not a good offer even at discounted rate. Regarding location, is is rather good, not too far from center (30 minutes walking through a very nice park) and very convenient to reach motorway and thus main point of interest around the city. Check in time for this hotel is 3pm!! I arrived at 11am expecting a 12 o clock check in and had to wait a full 2hours in the lobby until a room was available. 9 others were also waiting for a room! This is not really a hotel. It is more like a place to stay for young workers who need a temporary apartment. We were first given a room with the bed being a fold out couch. We said that was unacceptable and after arguing with the staff, who said nothing else was available, and they were full, they finally gave us a room with two single beds. But they […] weren't even single width and they were shaped such that you would roll off. And it was impossible to keep the beds close together. The wireless does not work. They will provide a cable for wired ethernet, but the cable or connection in our room was intermittent. Some days we got no fresh towels even though we had left towels off the hangers. They just took those and left no clean towels. Many days we got no new shampoo nor soap. They will supply you with coffee for two cups. After that each coffee cartridge is one Euro. The elevator is cramped and if you are on a low floor, make sure you get on the elevator last so you can get out without making everyone else get off. Overall, I can't really say anything positive at all. If you are a tourist don't stay here. If you are a twentysomething working in the neighborhood, then ok maybe it could work for you. Very disappointed about the staffs at the reception. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff at the reception didn't greet us and not even look at us at all. Whatever we asked her, she was impatient and didn't care to answer us at all. We were very disappointed!! The hotel was beautiful and perfect and fancy. The location was pretty poor. It was a 5-10 min walk to the tram station. the cab fare from the airport was about 35 euro. no restaurants, nightlife, groceries, convenient stores or bars nearby. There was a rooftop bar that was nice though..

We had an early flight from Gatwick and were unsure if we would be able to check-in. So, we thought we would just travel straight to the hotel (30 euros) - watch out for unlicensed taxis. We arrived around 11am and our room was ready. The rooms are modern, some on the main road (which maybe an issue in the summer with the windows open) and others overlook […] the terrace. Receptionists very good, provided us with tram passes and an info pack including a map and discount cards for tourist attractions. Rooms are very comfortable with a mini bar etc. Only negative is that the toilet is not in the bathroom. Bath and showers are great, if you are short, you will float in the bath. Amsterdam is a great City with lots to do. Watch out for the main touristy bars as they charge 5 euros for a large beer and they are not always a pint!!! Set meals in restaurants are from 10 - 15 euros. A great restaurant to recommend is a thai called BIRD - great food!!!! So, look this one up before you leave. We didn't eat in the hotel but our friends had room service with a Steak sandwich, which was lovely. A great stay overall. 5 mins to tram stop and approx 10 mins into town! Uzziniet vairāk

Our 3 day stay @ this 4* Westcord property was enjoyable. In summary, the property is clean and well appointed with good facilities. However, there were things that could be addressed to make a guest's stay better. For example, the ironing boards in the rooms are not fit for purpose. We tried 3 and each collapsed due to already being damaged or just […] not good enough quality. Also, the gym facilities are good, but having to hire towels, no water cooler (pay for bottled water) and pay extra to use the sauna?? Finally, we ordered a pot of coffee to the room, not listed on the room service price list. Being regulars in 4 and 5 star properties, we expected it to be around 6 euro... When it arrived, we were asked to sign a bill for 10 Euro. The stained tray consisted of a pot of coffee and a small jug of milk, no cups, sugar, complimentary biscuit. And to top it off, the coffee was awful stale filter coffee and not the fresh 'bean to cup' you would expect in properties of this calibre. Overall, despite the niggles above, we would still recommend the hotel if you get a good deal, the nearest tram is a 10 minute walk away and the centre is 20 minutes on the tram and a cab to the centre is around 20 Euro, not an issue for us but maybe for others if you want to be in the heart of the action. This hotel was really great value for money. It is alittle out of Amsterdam centre but this is not an issue as the No. 1 or No. 17 trams run every 5 minutes. It is important to state that the comments relating to the ensuite are correct as it is very open and not in the least private (glass door to toilet facilities) so I advise that sharing must be […] with someone very close. Lone female travellers may find the underpass to the trams alittle intimidating at night, I certainly would not have felt safe had I been on my own. The receptionist Serena was most helpful and also the morning girl on our checkout was very polite and all went smoothly. I would recommend this hotel quite happily to friends and family. We stay here for business all the time and love it. The rooms are spacious (for a European hotel) and comfortable. The food in the restaurant and bar is very good, the bartenders are terrific, there is a pool, a spa, a workout room - it's really a great hotel. Their front desk staff needs a little work. It's a long walk to the tram, it's a bit of a drive into the city center, but if you don't mind not having a canal right outside your window, it's great. It's a great spot for a business traveler.
