We loved the way that the staff and owners take a personal interest in their guests and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy their city and the best it has to offer. We extended our weekend stay by one night and left San Juan del Sur a day early in order to spend another night at La Isleta prior to leaving for Managua and our flight home. Michael […] was able to not only arrange reliable transportation for us when needed but also had our rental car picked up and set us up with a very reasonable taxi to the airport so we didn't have to face the drive into Managua. I really enjoyed my stay at La Islita. Its only about two blocks from the plaza, very close to restaurants and other sites, but far enough away to be a relaxing oasis. La Islita Boutique Hotel is very centrally and conveniently located at the ‘end of a dead street’ in the‘hart of Granada’ a stone throw away from the Cathedral, the Main Square and Calle La Calzada (where at night time the main action seems to be). This is definitely boutique! La Islita is a fantastically renovated old but small 2 storey building with a roof terrace. It has less than a dozen rooms and the owners (who live on site but in a separate building) are very hospitable; provide great personalized service and recommendations for trips in and around Granada. The room which we had was on the front side of the building (one flight up from the ground floor), with a wonderful wooden floor and beautifully decorated. A nice breakfast was included and served at the partly open area on the ground floor. We are very fortunate to have traveled extensively and have had good experiences in boutique type hotels. This was our second visit to Granada during the same trip through Nicaragua and can safely say that the overall experience and service at La Islita is excellent and has been one of the best! The only reason we gave it 4 on maintenance is that you should be aware that sometimes you lose electric for a short while but this is to be expected and we did, so it wasn't a problem. This is a great spot that is budget friendly. Use the earplugs- you can hear people in the adjoining property talking late at night but if you plug up it won't bother you! I don't recommend it for light sleepers. The pillows are thin and sheets and towels are a bit scratchy, but you have to be realistic about what you're getting when you are looking […] for an economical option. This is truly a steal for the price. My only other issue to point out is that the breakfast is just one plate brought out and you can't choose the food - when I was there, they served chocolate chip waffles. Since I am gluten free I could not eat it - wish I had known ahead of time that there are not options to choose from. (Not to mention, we can eat junk iHOP food in America any day-- was hoping for something more diet-friendly and Nicaraguan!) Hotel owners are American which makes it easy to converse in English. This hotel was the BEST bed and breakfast I have EVER stayed at- in ANY country! This hotel is where God goes to vacation. The view from the terrace is its own slice of Heaven. The location is perfect. Everything is within walking distance. The hotel is located on a quiet deadend street. Owners live on site and are very personable and able to provide recommendations (in English or Spanish) about everything from where to eat to where to get a haircut. We really loved this place and Nicaragua. La Islita is the model of the charm and hospitality of Nicaragua. The people could not have been more welcoming and concerned for our comfort and happiness. Michael at the front desk always seemed glad to see us and happy to offer suggestions or help. His restaurant recommendations were terrific and he offered […] other great suggestions. Tim, one of the owners, made us feel that he was really glad to have us as guests. We loved the location and the easy walk to so much of Granada. The public areas downstairs and on the roof are inviting and comfortable. We stayed in room 8 which has one king bed. The room was very comfortable and we even got used to the rooster and barking dog next door -- more charm. The room was a great value. So good a value that we might choose a little larger room next time. We missed having a desk and the wifi signal did not reach to our room. The only discomfort was in the bath room. The bath room itself is well appointed with a pedestal sink, toilet and walk in shower. The issue was with the flow of water from the shower head and sink -- both barely a trickle. It may be that water supply is an issue, but half of the holes in the shower head seemed plugged with hard water scale. We never did get hot water from the bath room sink. The sink it self rocked surprisingly and disturbingly on the pedestal. We love staying in B&Bs and this one was not exception. We look forward to returning. Uzziniet vairāk

My husband and I stayed at La Islita for a full week during a recent vacation in Granada. The purpose of our vacation was primarily to relax and La Islita fit the bill. The hotel is as pretty as its pictures and the room was very attractive, comfortable and clean. Breakfasts served in the open-air courtyard were tasty and gave us an opportunity to relax […] and enjoy the nice weather each morning. Our room had a lovely balcony with a view of the courtyard and we also enjoyed the hotel's terrance with great views of the city - coffee up there in the mornings and sometimes drinks in the evening. The staff were fantastic and friendly. Owners, Tim and Andres, Maykel and all the other staff made us feel very welcome and helped with everything from setting up transportation to/from the airport & around town to making suggestions for local restaurants and day trips which were always spot-on. The location of the hotel is great - two blocks from the main eating street and very close to the city's central park. The hotel's bar refrigerator with drinks always available and Emmett, the dog, made it feel like home. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. They will help you with everything from checking availability and handle booking of tours to give you advice on what to see and suggest what to travel to and see in Nicaragua. If you are not that good at speaking spanish (like us..) - they will handle calls for you to make sure that you get what you want or find what you are looking for. The hotel is owned and run by people from Miami - so communicating in english is not an issue! Even the locals that they had workibg at the hotel were very good at speaking english, so no problems there! On the downside.. gentilissimi e servizievoli, solo che la camera sapeva un poco di muffa, Non c'è il frigo in camera ma il condizionamento sì e la colazione è buona. Posizione centrale, in pochi minuti si raggiunge la piazza principale (la città storica ad ogni modo è piccola). Per il prezzo pagato il giudizio è comunque molto positivo.
