Close to shopping, restaurants. Really small rooms, no coffee makers in room, hard bed, small pillows. Breakfast included, like cereal, fruit, toast, coffee, milk and OJ. Friendly stuff. Oudated rooms, bed cover old, look like was not clean. Free WiFi work really well.

I like the modern feel of the hotel. It's not luxurious but it feels clean. Everything works: heater, ac, shower. Rooms are well thought out with a desk, drawers, and place to hang clothes. We were taken to the airport. I also liked that it is close to Plaza Rio, a nice mall about two big blocks away. This hotel personifies basic accommodations. The staff speaks limited English, and that seems to deter travelers other than Mexican business people. The beds are the most firm that one could wish for.......if you like hard beds. The hotel is clean, quiet, and conveniently located in the Zona Rio. Computers are available in the business center; the workout room has a treadmill, elliptical unit, and stationary bike. Same day laundry fees are reasonable. The continental breakfast is one of the best that I have encountered in any hotel with all fresh ingredients, and cocktail hour is on-the-house with a limited self-serve selection of soda, beer, rum, and snacks. The hotel shuttle is available by appointment during certain hours for guests. The hotel is totally non-smoking, and does not accept "party" groups. The staff is lovely and eager to please. The Plaza Rio shopping center is within easy walking distance, and a grocery store just two blocks away. You get what you pay for. It's cheap and clean. It's located close to the mall and airport. There was some construction going on next to the hotel during our stay. Free breakfast, shuttle to airport, and wifi (poor signal though). We needed more towels and they sent them right away.

I stay here when I come to get my dental work done. I am having a lot ot that done so I am here often. The staff is good to me and they have come to recognize me so that helps. This is within walking distance of The Plaza so it is in a safe location and close to a little store if I need something after my dental work, as well as a local, affordable […] restaurant that caters to my needs (they know I cannot chew easily the day after, things like that) and is close enough that I can walk there and back before it gets dark (important!). the hotel staff is very accommodating and gracious if I need extra towels, ice, pillows, blankets, etc. The room is just a room but for the price it provides a safe and comfortable place to rest and recover after having extensive dental work done . . . if you can feel that way after extensive dental work, that says a lot actually! I had stayed here in January and would have given probably all 4 ratings. This time they put me in a roon next to the elevator which I heard thre the walls till midnight. Ehen I turned on the water in the bathroom it came out dark orange in color and smelled. I hadd to run the water for about 10 minutes before it would clear enough for me to put my […] hands in it. Thank goodness I had bottled water. Possibly that room had not been used in months but because I had a discounted rate they gave me that room. Decent hotel for the money. The location satisfied my needs very much (2 blocks away from my destination). THE DIRECT PHONE LINE TO THE USA NEVER WORKED. They tell u that is working and that we must've dialed the wrong number (3 people tried to call me?!).

I typically stay at the Camino Real but tried this hotel down a block from it and I liked it - good business hotel but basic amenities. Maybe better toiletries will help but for the price can't complaint. Walked to the Mall but the shuttle was available. Felt safe walking - felt safe in the sorrounding of the Rio Mall.

I went to Tijuana for US visa stamping. ASC is within 1 KM to the hotel but consulate is far. Hotel shuttle service dropped me at both places. The City Express is apparently a favorite with Mexican business travelers. It is conveniently located in the Zona Rio near medical facilities, grocery stores, and the Plaza Rio. I have stayed there several times for up to 10 days in duration. Not many of the staff speak English, so if you're intimidated by this, you may want to reconsider. The hotel […] is very sparse with very hard beds. But, it is reasonably priced, very clean, bright, safe, and has a complementary business center, tiny workout room with bicycle, elliptical, and treadmill, and reasonably priced laundry. There is both wifi and a wired connection available in the rooms. There is no in-room coffee maker or iron & ironing board, although the latter is available upon request. Another welcome plus is a better-than-average continental breakfast from around 0600-1030am. The dining area is a popular gathering place for both breakfast and the evening cocktail hour when a complementary limited selection of alcohol and mixes are available. The hotel also has a complementary shuttle service that runs on a fairly regular schedule to transport guests within a five (?) mile limit. Went to Tijuana on business and spent 1 night only. Hotel is clean, modern, good service, transportation service (you have to schedule it in advance), good internet in the lobby area and the business center. Includes Continental breakfast and happy hour in the afternoon. All restaurants were closed that night for obvious reasons. No place to have dinner but the restaurant which delivers room service to the hotel sent 2 boys with their menu to pick up orders in the lobby, very smart and nice from them. In about 25 minutes, our dinner was delivered to our room. Very good sandwich enough for 2 people.
