Perfectly adequate accommodation but somewhat lacking in atmosphere. Our room did not live up to the level of expectation set by the images on the website but it was clean and comfortable. "Weekend break"
Overall a pleasant stay. We love the Cotswolds and Stow in particular. The one sour note was the fact that our room was on the road and on the first night we were awoken by drunken revellers in the early hours. Not what we'd expected from the location! The staff are really friendly and helpful however they have an uphill struggle as there has been minimal investment in the rooms. Fiercely uncomfortable bed and everything looking rather tired... "Not what the pictures show you!"
The location was fantastic and I'm sure the hotel was a couple of years ago. The property is extremely old and we thought this would be romanatic. However, walking over the wet stains in the bathroom was not pleasureable at all. The restaurant was closed. We were planning on eating there. No explanation was given. Also, the bar/lounge was closed and […] and had had its day anyway. There was no atmosphere. Just us at breakfast in the worn down, room. Good job we have a sense of humour. "the royalist hotel stow on thw wold"
when we arrived we were told we could not book in until 3pm which was ok but they didnt offer for us to leave our luggage.they did however tell us where their car park was at the rear of the hotel.staff were friendly and the food was good.we were there for one night only for a family reunion but were told at 11.30 to leave the bar.we have never experienced […] that anywhere else before this and were surprised as as we were not noisy.in the morning when I went to settle the bill they had charged me again and had no record of my having prepaid but didnt argue when I showed them my printed off sheet.overall not a bad experience.
