Varandas de Lisboa

I did enjoy the place and I will recommend to have more room with bathroom inside instead of shared bathrooms

GREAT CHOICE, LOCATION, FACILITIES, SERVICE, ... ONLY A COUPLE OF MINOR ISSUES: 1) HOT WATER WAS NOT STEADY, IN AND OUT RANDOMLY. 2) AT ARRIVAL WE GOT LOST FOLLOWING THE CAR'S GPS DIRECTIONS TO THE UPPER STREET WHICH IS NOT OPEN TO THE VISITORS. YOU SHOULD INFORM UPFRONT THAT THE CORRECT DIRECTION IS THE LOWER STREET THAT HAS A PUBLIC PARKING NEARBY. WE FOUND IT AFTER WALKING THROUGH THE ALFAMA STREETS WITH ALL OUR LUGGAGE FOR A LONG TIME.

Even though we booked very last minute, the room was ready to check-in to immediately. Rahima was brilliant and gave us loads of information on the local area and the best things to visit as well as being incredibly warm and friendly. The room was decorated to a very high standard and the balcony (which ours had) had amazing views of the river. We couldn't have asked for more from this hotel as it was also great value for money. The location is excellently placed between the old town (Alfama) and Baixa-Chiado.

We absolutely loved our stay at Varandas de Lisboa. We were curious about the lack of online reviews but realized it is because they opened last month. It has a nice new clean feel. The location is perfect, with a view of the water and in the area of town with lots of attractions, shops, and restaurants. The room was beautiful and large. The staff are very nice and helpful. We really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. In fact, we stayed here one night ( as planned) and then moved to another hotel in another area of town. After one night we decided to come back to this hotel, even though the other hotel was pre-paid, because we liked Varandas so much.

Very nice rooms! Shared bathroom but roughly 1 bathroom for every 3-4 rooms so it worked fine. Brand new property
