Holiday Inn Express Hilton Head Island

No frills here just a place to lay your head (which was more or less what we were looking for). Pretty central location, walking distance to the beach.

A little runned down, but decent. Everything was clean except for the carpet in both rooms I had smelled like feet. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I don't like that they don't clean the rooms daily. Or at least check to see if you need toilet paper, trash to be taken out, or clean towels. We had to call and request these things to be done and when we got back that evening they had not been done. So we had to call again. The room phone didn't work, but only tried to use it to call the front desk. They were very prompt on bringing the toilet paper and towels the second time we called. Oh and be careful if you have a balcony the door is very heavy and hard to open. My daughter unknowingly opened it and it's even harder to get shut....it took 2 of us because it's heavy and gets stuck. Maybe not all rooms are like this. But ours was. Decent location and decent price for this time of year. But definitely would not pay what they charge in the spring and summer, not worth it.

We were on a family trip and our son had an accident in the bed the first day. We repeatedly asked for new sheets for 3 straight days and never received any!

I think it is important for potential customers to know that the check-in is at a different site than the actual hotel. The hotel itself has no employees. If there is a problem you must get in your car and go back to the check-in site to solve it. No security either at the actual hotel. I would not consider this a safe hotel to stay at.

Hotel was clean. Complimentary breakfast had good pastries, no milk nor cereal. Water in room is hot. Dark out curtains were decent. Bed was too hard for me because I like a very soft bed. TV channels were good with the Weather channel, HBO and Showtime. Corridors outside the room were open air and cold in winter. Floor was mostly carpeted. Pets are allowed with a fee.

It was fantastic, except for the bed. It was pretty uncomfortable. Not the worst matress I ever slept on... but not comfortable at all. Woke up sore and didn't sleep well through the night. Granted, I have arthritis and other joint problems. My kids didn't have a problem, but the adult didn't enjoy the lack of sleep. I've stayed at a few other Holiday Inns, this one, by far, had the worst mattresses in the chain. I definitely expected better than hard as a rock and the floor being more comfortable.

Very nice accommodations

We’ve stayed here this Christmas and last Christmas and both times were great. The office is around the corner from the actual hotel, but we don’t mind the little walk. There’s a brand new HUGE park right behind the hotel you can literally take one step to get to. Also a grocery store a block away. Breakfast was a lot different because of Covid, but every morning there was a man and a woman serving breakfast and they could NOT have been nicer or more attentive. The room felt clean, which is more important now than ever before. You’re a few blocks away from the beach and Coligny Plaza, but we actually like that. Not as busy and get a few extra steps in. Overall great stay year after year
