La Quinta Inn & Suites Coventry/Providence

No issues.

Arrived on Friday & was told that they are remodeling the hotel- Well that's fabulous, but unless they learn to clean their rooms & have some training in customer service, we will not be back! The rooms were disgustingly filthy- Especially the walls near both trash cans and the fridge area!! We were also treated like unwelcome guests by the man on desk duty Saturday afternoon! Perhaps a manager(?)- Nice suit & tie, but no greeting, no smile, just a what do you want look and was very put off that we needed him to open the pool door for us, because their key cards weren't working (which they told us the day before at check-in that we would need to ask them to open the room for us- already a put off). Their were no other people in line, so felt pretty rude and when I asked where the ice machine was, you think I'd asked him to chip some off a block for me- although I should have, because the ice machine had no ice in it & it seemed obvious that it hadn't in a while, because their were a couple ice buckets left on the machine already. Luckily, before I had to ask Mr. Misery, I spotted the one ray of light in our stay- the nice woman who ran the Saturday breakfast- and she offered to fill my bucket from the employee breakfast room.

Very nice hotel. Everything was clean and breakfast was fair.

Very convenient. Not scenic, but that was fine this trip. Outer drapes were just for show, only the sheers closed completely, so if you aren't a morning person, get a west-facing room. Staff was lovely.
