Hampton Inn Omaha West-Lakeside

Slightly older hotel, but the staff was really nice and I liked being so close to amenities. I was able to walk each day thanks to the nice sidewalks and populated area each day prior to starting work.

Pool was being renovated but offered to go to pool at close hotel was our only disappointment. Friendly and helpful staff.

When we first entered our room, the heat wasn’t on. (It was Feb.) So we proceeded to adjust the thermostat. We waited a good 10 minutes for the heat to kick on, which it never did. We continued to adjust the thermostat with no results. My husband went to the front desk to get a new room. He returned with the desk clerk, who proceeded to tear apart the heater and attempt to fix the heat. After awhile she stood up & said she would have to try to find us a new room. After waiting in a freezing room for an additional 10 minutes, she returned to take us to a room across & down the hall from our 1st room. The second room was much warmer. However a light next to the bed didn’t work, & as I threw back the comforter a saw a small black bug in my bed. I was a little worried at this point that there were more bugs.(it was dead)So I proceeded to checkout the entire bed. There were no more critters, & I was out of time, due to a procedure I needed to do before an early morning trip to the local hospital. We have always had very good trips using Hampton, however I’m not so sure I would recommend this particular one.

I was guaranteed a double. Talked to your reservation person and the Omaha contact. When we got there they gave us a single. No time to argue since we went for a visitation and funeral.
