Hotel Central Fifth Ave New York

Great location, but the hotel is currently in tatters, with ongoing upgrade work. Breakfast is in a takeaway bag, which is ok and better than nothing, but it's limited and becomes tiresome after 6 mornings due to the lack of choice. Reception is in bits, and freezing. Once inside the room itself, it's fine, very quiet inside the hotel, no disturbance from other guests, as there are so few rooms on each room. Love the ice machine that's available. Hate the wifi - appalling all over the hotel - my phone insisted it was connected, but it couldn't do the most basic of things. Only my daughter's 4 yo tablet actually worked, my tablet and phone didn't and nothing belonging to my husband worked.

Brilliant location HOWEVER I booked my holiday in August 2017 for March 2018 I booked a double deluxe room and asked for a quiet room as my daughter has autism and cannot deal with noise i was put on a room on 17th floor with banging and drilling going on all day tbere was nothing on the websire visable about renovations after talkong to the manager he agreed to move me the following day the rooms are cramped and beds only 4ft not 4ft6 and not much other space in the rooms the breakfast consisted of visiting a room on the M level that was like a cupboard you received a white paper bag with cereal milk yoghurt banana or apple a small juice and a muffin that you had to take to your room and eat there! The buffet breakfast advertised didnt exist I had to run the water 20 to 25 minutes every morning before it would run hot Toilet got blocked every day although maintenance was good and reception/security staff were very nice and friendly

I wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleased with our stay. There still is no lobby as they are renovating the lobby and have started on the rooms on the top floors. Our room was comfortable, small, but we didn't spend much time there. Close to Fifth Ave. Breakfast was adequate: corn muffin, cereal, a piece of fruit, yogurt, juice, milk and coffee or tea. Worked good for us. I would stay here again. The price was right for NYC.

The room was dirty and there was no hot water. Construction in the Hotel. No free breakfast!

The hotel is in a good central location near Bryant Park. Unfortunately they are doing construction which was not specified in the booking. The main lobby is very small and the various floors had a stale electrical smell probably from the construction. Thankfully the hammering ended in the evening. The room was adequate with two double beds. The carpet looked old and in need of an upgrade. There was a large stain on the comforter on one of the beds. This was a fair hotel stay for us. We only needed it for the night so we were not too picky but if I was staying longer I would choose somewhere else.
