Ocean Tide Beach Resort

It was very centrally located, the room was spacious, the smell from the ocean was a bit much with the salt grass . Staff was great !!!

Great location (10 min from ferry, 2 min from food options). Friendly staff, great outdoor area. Large room with fridge! The bed had a wood bed frame that was so loud we would wake up. Thin walls, poor bathroom lighting. Would absolutely stay again with adjusted expectations.

Great location, Raymond at the bar was great! Only downside is the tour representative for the hotel followed us to our third floor room, and we had to back him out of our room and with our backpacks still on

The hotel it's'self is old and worn. My 10 year old daughter's first reaction was "dad, this place is haunted". Don't expect new, clean and fresh. This place has "character". The walls are paper thin, floors are creaky so you here your your neighbors walking about, the doors are worn around and dirty around the door handles. Some thoughts on the island: In March and April it is a downright wind tunnel. It was so windy one day, we couldn't leave our room. Sand blow in our eyes, it was bad! The locals call this wind the Easterlies. Also, another annoyance are the golf carts. Seems like a million of them and most are driven are by tourists who have never driven them before. Combine these with the absence of sidewalks and if you're on foot you're taking your life in your hands. There is virtually no public transit so if you want to get anywhere you're forced to rent one of these golf carts for $50 a day. A broken down bicycle will run you $20/day. Too bad they don't rent scooters. The other observation is cost once you get there. Everything is very expensive - maybe due to it being an island and no other industry except tourism. A simple breakfast - 2 eggs, refried beans, strip of bacon-like meat, tortilla and cup of instant coffee is $26US. Bring cash! Don't bother going snorkeling at Hol Chan and Shark Alley. Both spots are way overcrowded and the sights are mundane.

Loved the location of the property, right on the beach. Great bartender / concierge named Raymond. He provided us with fabulous recommendations for good eating in San Pedro. Plus he made the best rum punch.

This is a great, affordable place to stay. Within walking distance of plenty of spots to eat and drink, and within golf cart range of everything.

This is my 3rd time to Ocean Tide and the best way to describe it is the vibe. Just outside of San Pedro and near the famous Palapa bar - it is a great location with a safe, cultural feel. In the mornings you may hear the high school children singing their morning songs before class. Take a dip in the clean pool. Relax on the lounge chairs. The staff is also wonderful. Raymond has a heart of gold and is a great bartender. I love the Dirty Banana Drink! The housekeepers keep the place clean and the front desk clerk is very pleasant. Tula, the manager - also is very professional. We always enjoy coming here and will definitely be back!

Location and staff were good. Lovely view. Would be nice if there were ammenities like a breafast option or water toys to use in the ocean such as stand up paddle boards
