Hyatt Place Portland-Old Port

Overall a wonderful stay. I stayed for a long weekend with my boyfriend and we really enjoyed our time. The hotel staff was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. The location is stellar!

It was a nice hotel friendly staff and comfortable. Parking was different but hotel was very accommodating.

Hyatt Place is my preferred hotel at which to stay in Portland. Best location, clean, great service and the little living room area in every room is key. Nice view of the harbor from upper floor king bed rooms (queen rooms face downtown). My only knock is that I think the pillows are terrible: slept poorly there a few weeks ago causing nasal issues which led to a cold; slept poorly there again this week d/t the pillows. The hotel can be expensive d/t its great location but if the price is right, this is where I stay.

All the staff we came in contact with were wonderful: friendly and helpful. The location was fabulous- right in the heart of the Old Port, with loads of restaurants, shops, and activities in walking distance. We had a bit of a snag with parking, though. The welcome email we received from Hyatt before our arrival told us to park in the adjacent parking garage and bring the ticket to the front desk at check-in, but when we arrived that garage was shuttered with signs that said "Full". We tried Hyatt's tiny valet parking/check-in area (valet services are not currently available due to Covid-19), but it was so full of hotel-owned vehicles that we would have blocked the way if we had stopped there, so we drove around looking for nearby street parking, which we had to pay for. Once we were checked in they explained that there is another entrance for that parking garage, but you can't access it until you receive a card from the front desk. And yes, you do have to pay for that parking. Also, while I see that the average rating for the Hyatt-Old Port is 8.8, I would rate it lower, because if you look closely, the place seems a bit "frayed around the edges". The carpet in the hallway looks worn, the bathtub/shower area had mold stains in the grout, the toiletries provided were mismatched, and the grab-and-go continental breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. Overall our stay was fine, but for the price we paid I had hoped for better than "fine".

Clean enough. The off site parking was abit far to walk in rain or snow. Staff was very friendly. Because of Covid it was depressing.

Hotel was horrible... the front desk worker was great but it all went down hill from there. The room was dirty sheet and blanket had holes in it, curtains didn’t cover the windows, tv didn’t work, pillows where rock hard and small,the carpet was dirt as well as the bathroom and shower and the bar staff was horrible to busy playing on phones to get drinks and food. Have stayed in many hotels in Portland and this place is by far the worst in the city

The hotel isbwalkong distance to main restaurant and the pier. A lot of business have permanently closed due to Covid and it was very difficult to find dinning reservations in Portland. The hotel is clean and comfortable

Great location. Helpful staff. Good variety of breakfast despite COVID restrictions.

Amazing place to stay if you are looking to be staying in the city and so close to highroller, $3 Dewey’s, and the wine and cigar shop.
